Douglas County Attorney’s Office said deadly Omaha shooting is classified as self-defense

Omaha police release the name of the man killed in a shooting at a home early Tuesday.Officers arrived around 2:20 a.m. to the area of 51st and Q streets for reports of a shooting.
Inside a house, police said they found the victim, identified as 40-year-old Nicholas Gomez, with a gunshot wound.
Police at the scene told KETV NewsWatch 7 they also found another man inside the house. That man was released from custody after questioning; he is the homeowner.
The homeowner told KETV NewsWatch 7 Gomez was acting crazy. The homeowner said he was afraid and protected himself.

How fun would it be to have someone re-design the Luger to keep the exterior appearance (grip angle, knee toggle, etc) but update the interior mechanism to make it simpler and more reliable? And sell it in 9mm and 45ACP? Sign me up!

If you look up the description and picture(s) of the P08 as beefed up to 45ACP for the US Army trials of 1906-07 (pre 1911 GASP! wonder how that 45 cartridge compared to JMB’s 1911 45ACP?), that’s a handsome piece, worthy of adoration and adulation.

Yeah, Tox, I knew it had been done and have actually had my hand on one a while back. Looked at it, caressed it, and even considered blowing the rather spendy amount the dood wanted to get for it. Common sense took the place of my lust. Those funds were instead invested in a plethora of various other Freedom Seeds including a multitude of His Holy Caliber to fit my Kimber 1911 Custom LW…and a year’s supply of rations from MPS.

Gomez may have had a mutual of Omaha status with the homeowner, but he certainly violated some terms and conditions and got permanently canceled. “Victim” of his own poor choices.

Dad captured a P08 Luger during his “all-expenses paid walking tour of Europe” along with a Walther P38. He was only allowed to bring one home. He kept the Walther P38 because he shot better with it than the Luger. The only Walther I’ll have in my collection.
Envy him– we only get to bring back patches now.
