Two Men Stabbed During Fight In Morris; PD Calls It Case Of Self Defense
A skirmish involving a knife that started at a Morris bar and ended outside one of the combatants homes is being labeled self defense.
Just past 1:30 Saturday morning, Morris police officers were called about a fight. While en route, a second call came in about two men showing up to Morris Hospital with knife wounds.
After an investigation, investigators say a 36-year-old man left a downtown Morris bar to avoid more than just a verbal confrontation. As he was home on East Chapin Street, a vehicle stopped in front of his house. A 31-year-old man from Morris and a 26-year-old man from Verona got on top of the third man and began punching and kicking him. During the scuffle, the man who was getting the worst of it got a pocket knife from his clothing and stabbed the other two men. They sustained non-life threatening injuries.
