NORKs to Expel Private King

| September 27, 2023

No value to the North Koreans, so he’s apparently on the way out.

North Korea says it will expel Travis King, the US soldier who crossed into the country in July

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea said Wednesday that it would expel a U.S. soldier who crossed into the country two months ago through the heavily armed border separating the Koreas.

The announcement of Pvt. Travis King’s release came relatively quickly and surprised some observers who had expected the North to drag out his detention in the hopes of squeezing concessions from Washington at a time of high tensions between the rivals.

The North’s official Korean Central News Agency reported that authorities have finished their questioning of King but did not say when officials plan to expel him or where.

King, who had served in South Korea, sprinted into North Korea while on a civilian tour of a border village on July 18, becoming the first American confirmed to be detained in the North in nearly five years.

At the time he crossed the border, King was supposed to be heading to Fort Bliss, Texas, following his release from prison in South Korea on an assault conviction.

Art. 85.
Any member of the armed forces who without authority goes or remains absent from his unit, organization, or place of duty with intent to remain away therefrom permanently, is guilty of desertion.

I’m sure there are several thoughts on where Pvt. King should be expelled from the hermit kingdom. And how. Hat tip to Anonymous for the head’s up.

One official said King was transferred to American custody in China. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss King’s status ahead of the announcement.]

Oh, Goody..🙄

Let’s see if Al Sharpton or Kamala Harris or Joy Reid or “The View” or Ole Brandon Boy use the RACE CARD against North Korea.

We Dare Them. Double Dare Them…

“US Officials Say Travis King, Who Crossed Into North Korea, Is In American Custody”

“On Wednesday, the North’s official Korean Central News Agency reported that authorities have finished their questioning of King. It said that he confessed to illegally entering the North because he harbored “ill feeling against inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination” within the U.S. Army and was “disillusioned about the unequal U.S. society.”

“In the end, the North apparently concluded that King simply wasn’t worth keeping, possibly because of the cost of providing him food and accommodation and assigning him guards and translators when he was never to be a meaningful source of U.S. military intelligence, said Cheong Seong-Chang, an analyst at South Korea’s Sejong Institute.”

I… I… nope. Got nothing.

It looks like Army is giving someone a run for their money.

Oh, this is great! How worthless are you when North Korea rejects you?

A Terminal Lance Coolie

I don’t think the English language has the words to adequately describe his lack of value

Apparently neither does north Korea.

Amateur Historian

Well, if English can’t adequately describe his lack of value, lemme try something in German: Blödes Stück Scheiße!!!

Now if we only apply that Thought to the numerous Illegal Aliens crossing our Borders everyday…🤔

Not worth feeding/guarding. Oxygen thief?

Im sure the Norks very quickly picked up on the dirtbag/untrainable vibe and decided he wasn’t worth the effort. How fucked up you gotta be when even the most evil regime in the world decides their brand of compulsory reeducation won’t work for you?

Now wait a second, it isn’t like we want him either.

A word come to mind…oh yeah…dirtbag.

Not many people can say that they have been kicked out of both Koreas

Hmm. That does appear to be rare.

You sir, are todays internet winner.

Very few people who can give Yelp reviews for North and South Korean prisons.

Lucrative book and movie deals forthcoming in 3…2…1…

Will PVT King also be joining fellow hero Brittney Griner on the talk show circuit?

Probably already scheduled on The View.

And how long before we’re hearing that “PVT King served bravely and honorably, and we now celebrate his triumphant return”?

Imagine if you will, being such a shitbird that you don’t even have propaganda value for North Korea. Can’t get much lower. Do we have to take him back?

Yes SFC D, we do have to take him back, and the chain of command has decided to give King a fresh start, so starting immediately, he has been reassigned to your platoon. You and your squad leaders will insure King does not screw up again. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Now that’s just mean.

Reminds me of 2002 when they started sending us soldiers back to their original company who had gone AWOL any time in the last five years. It was so we could; “address leadership concerns that the previous chain of command had not addressed and possibly led to the soldier going AWOL”.

I was in company command and got one who had been gone for four years. Dude appeared to be a homeless meth head. I told him it was battalion policy that AWOL soldiers had to take a urinalysis upon return and that if he were hot he would face a special court marital by a field grade officer (current Brigade policy at the time) if he came up hot. I put a guard on him for 24 hours until he could/ would pee. Dude literally shit and pissed himself rather than go in a cup.

This short lived experiment was a nightmare. Most fled as soon as possible. Some were awaiting prosecution for other crimes. None could carry a security clearance.

Ohhhh Yeahhh this is gonna be fun!

A MOH from Sleepy Joe perhaps.

“He is going to be safely reunited with his family. He served the United States with honor and distinction. And we’ll have the opportunity eventually to learn what has transpired in the past years, but what’s most important now is his health and well being, that he have the opportunity to recover in peace and security and be reunited with his family. Which is why this is such a joyous day.”

Sounds like the perfect White House Rose Garden speech. All hail the conquering hero and all that shite.

I was hoping he’d have been expelled across the northern border. China could find some use for him, I’m sure. Instead, he’s back in the hands of the Army, albeit now internationally known (and not in a good way), facing much more serious charges than he was two months ago, and most likely on his way to a life of poverty and further poor decision making.

The Army isn’t for everybody, but in today’s volunteer force, I don’t get why someone would let their conscious decision to enlist for 3-4 years destroy the rest of their lives. If you get in and don’t like it, suck it up; you volunteered knowing that it wasn’t going to be a walk in the park. Do your time and get out with an Honorable discharge. If you’re really unfit you might see an early exit, but don’t make it worse. Even some of the “worst” Soldiers I knew were still good Soldiers at heart. They’d screw up, consistently fail the APFT, get a DUI or two, or pop hot on a urinalysis, but when told to do something, they’d execute without question, even if it was for their pending chapter or ART-15. They could see the light and, if anything, it made them remember their Army Values and basic courtesy and respect.

King should receive a Dishonorable discharge and serve some amount of time at Leavenworth, but as other commenters have noted, it would not surprise me if this Administration places him on a pedestal and makes him the victim.

But really how big of a piece of shit he must be if even the NOK don’t see any use for him,

Not even good enough for fertilizer. LOL!

I’d have respected the Norks if they had just saved everyone some trouble and shot him.

They only shoot you if you attemp to leave.

OK So it looks like dirtbag fuckboi is elligable for this award.

Ellsworth Culver. One of the recipients of North Korea’s prestigious Friendship Medal…

Whoever wrote this for Wikipedia ensured this was posted upfront ..😉😎😆

“Wesley Ellsworth Culver claims he had a strong commitment to humanitarian service and promoting peace and social justice in the United States and around the world. But he was also a mass abuser of young girls, through explicit photos, groping and molestation, and sexual assault on his own daughter and other young girls. Mercy Corps was aware of Culver’s sexual abuse yet allowed him to remain in leadership roles and travel the world on their behalf for another 10 years.”

Hmmm..Sounds as if Ole Brandon Boy had a teacher..

“But he was also a mass abuser of young girls, through explicit photos, groping and molestation, and sexual assault on his own daughter and other young girls.”

Green Thumb

Surprised Biden was not there to welcome him back.

Curious though: does he (King) now rate a POW medal?

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

A necktie party in his honor.

A Colombian necktie, by chance?

He has been invited to dine with Obama at Martha’s Vineyard. He reminds him of the son he never had.

Maybe he’ll go boogie boarding or paddle boating…🤣

Dinner will be served as soon as the chef washes up.

Absolutely, that’s the TAH section. When Hitler gets that pineapple, we’re in the front row. Just like Bob Eueker.

I can just imagine his reception as the MPs pick him up……and he would deserve every bit of it.

We should charge nK money to take him back.

He’ll be back in time for the Veterans Day free meal at Applebee’s.

He served with honor and distinction. //S//

In both Koreas.

“Pressed by CNN’s Jeremy Diamond on whether King wanted to return to the US, the official said, it became “quite clear” to US diplomats that “Private King was very happy to be on his way home”.

“King is expected to be taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio upon his return to the US.”

“Brooke Army Medical Center also has a Department of Defense Program known as PISA (Post Isolation Support Activities) to help Americans acclimate back to normal life after being detained. Both Trevor Reed
and Brittney Griner went there after they were released from detention in Russia”

“Asked if King could be facing a court martial, or charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, an official emphasized that the focus for the next several weeks would be on King’s health as he gets back “on solid footing.”

“We’ll address any administrative actions that may follow after the reintegration process,” the official said.”

“The officials facilitated a phone call between King and his family.”

“He is very much looking forward to being reunited with his family. That is the sentiment that is pervading all else right now.”

Never Forget.

Rest In Peace, SGT Cornelius H. Charlton.

Medal Of Honor
24th Infantry Regiment
Hostile, Died (KIA)
Date Of Loss: June 2, 1951

“Sergeant Charlton’s platoon was attacking heavily defended hostile positions on commanding ground when the leader was wounded and evacuated. Sergeant Charlton assumed command, rallied the men, and spearheaded the assault against the hill. Personally eliminating two hostile positions and killing six of the enemy with his rifle fire and grenades, he continued up the slope until the unit suffered heavy casualties and became pinned down. Regrouping the men he led them forward only to be again hurled back by a shower of grenades. Despite a severe chest wound, Sergeant Charlton refused medical attention and led a third daring charge which carried to the crest of the ridge. Observing that the remaining emplacement which had retarded the advance was situated on the reverse slope, he charged it alone, was again hit by a grenade but raked the position with a devastating fire which eliminated it and routed the defenders.”

“His family knew him as “Connie.” Because of his color, he was denied burial in Arlington Cemetery. Sgt. Charlton’s body was buried in Bryant Memorial Cemetery near Pocahontas, VA. In 1989 the Medal of Honor Society discovered Sgt. Charlton’s burial site in poor condition and in 1990 re-interred his remains at the American Legion Cemetery in Beckley, WV. On November 12, 2008, the remains of Sgt. Cornelius H. Charlton was buried for a third and final time as he was re-interred at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.”

Amateur Historian

Any way he can get charged with treason? The Korean War never technically ended, so we’re still technically at war with the NORKs.

USMC Steve

I wonder if Desertion in the face of the Enemy would be a thing.

AH and Steve,
Perhaps the Elko POW*MIA Awareness Ass has a stance.
You know, on POW King.

Amateur Historian

Doesn’t that apply to running away from the enemy rather than running towards the enemy with the intent to surrender?

The stupid F$&K is on a place as I type on his way back

Never Forget.

Rest In Peace, PFC William Henry Thompson.

The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pride in presenting the Medal of Honor (Posthumously) to Private First Class William Henry Thompson United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty while serving with Company M, 3d Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, in action against enemy aggressor forces at Haman, Korea, on 6 August 1950.”

“While his platoon was reorganizing under cover of darkness, fanatical enemy forces in overwhelming strength launched a surprise attack on the unit. Private First Class Thompson set up his machinegun in the path of the onslaught and swept the enemy with withering fire, pinning them down momentarily thus permitting the remainder of his platoon to withdraw to a more tenable position. Although hit repeatedly by grenade fragments and small-arms fire, he resisted all efforts of his comrades to induce him to withdraw, steadfastly remained at his machinegun and continued to deliver deadly, accurate fire until mortally wounded by an enemy grenade.”

“On June 21, 1951, General of the Army Omar Bradley presented Thompson’s mother with the Medal of Honor, posthumously recognizing Thompson’s actions.”

“Initially, no Black Soldiers were awarded Medals of Honor during the World Wars, making William Thompson the first Black American awarded the Medal of Honor since the Spanish American War.”

Perhaps Porky Kim tried to get a new visit out of Dennis Rodman,
and that failed, too.

You’re a special kind of “Army of One” when the Norks don’t think you’re worth killing or sending to a camp.

I’m in a state of stunned bemusement bordering on reluctant admiration.

It’s the most sincere example of worthlessness I can imagine.

Dimes to donuts, the guy running the country will give King a pardon, an old stogie and he will be King of the Road.

No phone, no pool, no pets
I ain’t got no cigarettes
Ah but two hours of pushin’ broom
Buys an 8 x 12, 4-bit room
I’m a man of means by no means
King of the Road!

After the North Koreans used this guy for propaganda (which he seemingly went along with), they sent him our way so King can stop stealing their oxygen and start turning our MREs into crap.

A Proud Infidel®™

REJECTED even by a tinpot commie dictatorship, now that says “More worthless than a glass hammer, knitted condom, screen door on a Submarine and a wooden frying pan on a gas stove”! In my vision of a just world, PVT King would be scrubbing pots and pans in a chow hall whenever he wasn’t sweeping and mopping until he had worked to pay back what he has cost the US Army, apparently, he was THAT GUY one would have sweeping and mopping the Motor pool just to keep him from fucking something else up! It sounds like he was the kind of Soldier you could leave locked up alone in a windowless room with a 12″ steel ball and coming back after an hour, said ball would be missing, broken or pregnant!

I owned a glass hammer and saw right throught it that it wouldn’t stand up to use.

Anybody want to make book that we’ll see him on these pages as a Valor Thief, eventually, if not sooner? “There I was, on a seekrit mission on the Nork Border. Since I was taking sniper fire I knew the only way to infiltrate was to charge the wire and do what had not been done since the 1950s…invade North Korea! Completely surround and cut off from the DMZ, I fought off human waves of attacking Norks, til I was down to my last bullet, which I had saved to use on myself to avoid being taken prisoner. I knew too much to be taken alive. Alas, as I brought my Glock to my head and pulled the trigger, the frame split, causing me to lose that last bullet. If only we still had the 1911 instead of that plasticized abomination, I would not be here today to tell the story. Over run, manhandled, and trussed up I was carted off to the brig where I was the only soul brother there. Weeks of torture followed in that there was no fried chicken, no rap music, ribs, watermelon, just rice and fish heads. It wasn’t even Uncle Ben’s Rice. Just as I had given up hope, I bribed the guard with an MRE and a pack of Newports, making my way back to the DMZ and freedom.” You can read the entire thrilling story in my book, Escape from North Korea, available on the ‘Zon for only $49.95, hard back, $29.95, soft cover.”

“The Pentagon’s director of diversity and inclusion, the head of the department’s equity and inclusion office, the military’s chief diversity officer, and the assistant secretary of defense for readiness — a transgender woman — were all targeted with amendments that would trim their annual salary to less than $1.”

“A proposal to cut Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley’s pay to $1 was also floated by Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., but dismissed by party leaders before Wednesday’s debate.”

It would cool if they brought him back the the crossing while the media was there, uncuffed him, then loudly shout “get out you loser” and physically throw him out towards the MP’s.

Pvt. King brings to mind a comment we Army NCO’s were tempted to use on many EER’s (Enlisted Efficiency Report) we were required to write:

“This soldier fails to meet even the low standards he has set for himself.”
