‘He went out headfirst’: 77-year-old scares home intruder after firing gunshot

Alex Bozarjian, David Kalman
A 77-year-old Ann Arbor man is counting his blessings after he scared off a home intruder.

It happened at around 6 p.m. Wednesday on Arbordale Street near W. Stadium Boulevard.

Police say the suspect ran from the scene before they arrived and he’s still on the loose as of Wednesday night.

“He was in my house and I was scared. And I don’t mind saying it,” said Craig, who didn’t want to share his last name.

Craig is a tall man but he said he’s no tough guy.

On Wednesday however, he rose to the occasion when he heard what sounded like someone trying to open his screen door.

“Came out to investigate the noise on the patio door. A guy had come through the kitchen window, over the sink and was turned toward me about 15 feet,” Craig said.

Craig said he yelled at the guy and then pulled out his gun.

“I got off one shot at him. I hope I scared him, but I missed him,” Craig said.

I guess the Allen Oakwood Correctional Institute didn’t have a swimming pool.

Scared off the intruder who won’t be visiting again and nature took its course with the escaped convict.

If the intruder leaves head first, he might not return.

If he leaves feet first, he is highly unlikely to return.

An Armed Citizen fighting back and Karma cleaning up the gene pool. I’ll take that score any day. Fugly plasticized abominations and power hungry politicians…not so much.

Some years ago we had a convicted murderer escape one of our institutions, and they couldn’t find him for more than a week.
When they did, he had got hung up on a trotline in a stream and drowned.
Always felt that was a fitting end to his life.

11B-Mailclerk

How was that written up by the game warden? Did the owner have his felon stamp?

Felons are an Invasive Species. There’s no limit on ’em, and you can take ’em out any time of the year.

I hope Mr Craig didn’t have to clean up TOO much of a mess when he shot (at) the unknown perp. Maybe the perp could be identified from the DNA in the shit he left *behind* (pun accidental).
