Police in Oregon say that an intoxicated man entered a bar with a shotgun and was quickly disarmed and stopped by quick thinking bar patrons.The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the Skyland Pub in Troutdale, Oregon on Thursday night and found that a visibly intoxicated man had entered the bar with a shotgun and was quickly confronted by two customers, Oregon’s Fox 8 News reported.
Police say the two patrons were successfully able to disarm the man and stop him by grabbing the shotgun and hitting him in the face with it.

Man killed after stabbing 2 HPD officers in the face near Alief, police say
HPD Chief Troy Finner said both officers suffered stab wounds to the face.

HOUSTON — A man was shot and killed by Houston police after stabbing two officers Saturday morning.HPD Chief Troy Finner said officers were responding to a call just before 9 a.m. about an individual in crisis at a home on Agarita Lane, which is near the Alief area by Westpark Tollway and Eldridge Parkway.
According to Finner, officers tried to deescalate the incident but called for additional backup. At some point, a man produced a knife and began stabbing the officers. One officer was stabbed in the jaw/neck area and the other was stabbed in the chin. Both are expected to be OK.

I am so sick of the converter thievery. This is one they could fix with a bit of legislation. Only a licensed buyer allowed to buy the converters, require full ID of the seller and video of the transaction. License the next step up in the chain of salvage / recover of the scarce materials in the converter with the same ID requirement.
We have that in Texas at least.

After some catalytic converter thieves killed an off-duty LEO just south of the GB AO when he caught them under his vehicle, I’m inclined to shoot first and ask questions later if I ever find one under my vehicle.
The scrap value is high enough to drive a vigorous underground trade. You can no more ban converter thefts than you can ban bank robberies and liquor store holdups.
Have to run up the costs to where only the desperate or crazy will do it. Sadly, that means Texas type laws where you can shoot yo protect property.
And we will likely never be free of crazy/ desperate as long as Donks can run for office.
One can weld skid plates under vehicles. This helps make it very hard to saw off the converters, while adding general protection to the underside. But adding 100 to 200 pounds to a vehicle impacts vehicle fuel milage. Donked again!
Or you could go with cosmetic and just make it from Aluminum and bolt it on so it just adds time to the process. No longer a 30sec job!
We have it here too. Thieves just go next level. We did bust one of the ring leaders a while back after he bought more than 40 clearly stolen CC’s (that we knew of). Once he went to jail, thefts practically stopped overnight locally.
And unless the penalty is something like “gelding by vice-grip” the new fence was in business before the end of the week.
He pled to 20 years for 40 counts of felony receiving stolen property. I am guessing he will be out in 7.3 since our state gives 2 to 1 for good time. Seven years in the pen is no joke though.
