The Texas mom bravely confronted the burglary suspect and opened fire on the man
By Emma Colton | Fox News
A Texas mom successfully chased off a suspected burglar after locking herself and her children in a bedroom and opening fire on the man.“You have the right to defend yourself in your own home against an intruder,” Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra told KRGV, commending the mom for protecting her family and home. “I imagine she was in fear of her life … so she did what she had to do, and we support her.”
Hidalgo County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of an active burglary in rural Edinburg on Tuesday just after 9 p.m. Authorities say the unidentified homeowner had locked herself and her children in a bedroom in the home after a suspect identified as Carlos Garcia broke into the home through the garage.
Garcia, 36, proceeded to try to break into the bedroom where the family was located, according to authorities.

Police canine helps in seizure of bundles of cocaine found in truck parked at Sunrise Mall
By Laura B. Martinez – The Brownsville Herald
A Brownsville Police Department canine alerted officers to several bundles of cocaine that were found in a bag inside a truck parked at Sunrise Mall, police said.Officer Bako, the canine, and his handler checked the white Ford-150 truck that was parked on the northside parking lot of the mall with the truck’s owner no where around, said Investigator Martin Sandoval, spokesman for the Brownsville Police Department.
An officer conducting routine check of the parking lot on Oct. 27 spotted the truck by itself. The vehicle’s window was halfway down, Sandoval said. The officer became concerned because it was raining. He also noticed that a key was inside the truck’s ignition.
“Fearing the vehicle was stolen, the officer ran a check on the said vehicle. The vehicle did not have a record of being stolen,” Sandoval said.
As Bako assisted in checking the truck, he alerted the officers to check a bag inside where they located found bundles, Sandoval said. The cocaine was seized and placed into evidence.

Don’t Mess With Texas Mothers – if the idiots don’t know that, they need to be shot.
Sounds like the truck was waiting for someone to come pick it up and drive it to another location – a known tactic for getting (semi-)innocent folks to be your drug courier.
