Lyft Driver Shoots 2 Men During Carjacking In West Philadelphia, Police Say
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A 38-year-old Lyft driver shot two men during a carjacking in West Philadelphia, police say. The Lyft driver was reportedly on the 1100 block of North 40th Street just after 2:30 p.m. Monday when he was rear-ended by a vehicle twice.
When the driver exited his vehicle, he was approached by a man who exited the striking vehicle with a shotgun and took the Lyft driver’s vehicle.
The Lyft driver has a valid permit to carry and shot the man with his personal weapon.
The driver of the striking vehicle then attempted to hit the victim when he fired his weapon at the second defendant. Both men fled the scene, one in the Lyft driver’s vehicle and the other in the striking vehicle.

Looks like the Lyft Driver showed the dirtbags some Brotherly Love. Hope they did a lot of suffering from their gunshot wounds.
Suicide by Cop in Riverside County? One less nutjob.
Baby Glock wannabe? It is kinda like me…so ugly it’s cute.
Good work by some
While other criminals walk away with no punishment.

Unfuckingbelievable. Anyone wanna place bets that Balfour Beatty Communities‘ middle and upper management is staffed by the politically connected, maybe a Piglosi or McCon-Hell…
That ain’t workin’ that’s the way you do it, money for nothin’ and (black mold soaked walls) for free.
Maybe plant some “Bouncing Bettys” for the Balfour Beatty executives?
In Texas, the Lyft driver could have continued to shoot the perps until they ceased to be a threat to the loss of his property.
Granted that the Lyft driver had to avoid being run over by the driver of the striking vehicle, he at least got in some good marker shots to the chest/rib area. May not have had time for much more. But personally I wouldn’t be ashamed of that type of marksmanship in that dynamic.
As to the Taurus – at least it fills the requirement that one have a gun. I’m still a little iffy about using one for EDC, though. I want something I know will go “bang” when and only when I want it to. (Tho’ I hear they’re better nowdays…)
GB,
Hie thee hence and read the full review. This Taurus is 3rd gen, kinks worked out, seems to work well for the author.
I’ll have to look and see what the price is, may go get one meself for an EDC. (although I already have a S&W that I do carry, and a Springfield 1911 that I WANT to carry)
My current Object of Firearm Lust is that Springfield Armory SR-35
More rounds and cheaper ammo than the P220
I just have an (acknowledged) prejudice against Taurus… and unlike Walther not based on any bad experiences. Shooting Illustrated had some nice things to say about Taurus.
I agree on the SA-35. ME!!! LUST!!!
Saving my pennies as we speak.
AW1Ed,

Thanks for the FGS kudo credit.
Check your email.
It’s big. Phony big.
Very proud for the Lyft driver – kept his cool and responded with a steady hand and both bad-guys got to be bullet-stoppers…
Feel a bit sorry for the apparently mentally unstable Riverside County/Wildomar-man. But, brandishing any kind of gun in front of attending county-mounties will only lead to heartbreak, tears and very probably, a permanently stopped heart.
P.S. Ed, K – emails sent.
