Police kill man who shot at officers in Silver Spring, authorities say
Dan Morse, Rebecca Tan
Montgomery County police officers fatally shot a man who opened fire on them during a traffic stop in Silver Spring early Wednesday, authorities said.
Four officers were involved and have been placed on administrative leave, per department policy, while the incident is investigated by a newly created unit in the Maryland Attorney General’s Office intended to handle officer-involved shootings. The incident appears to have stemmed from a shooting several blocks away in downtown Silver Spring that did not involve the police. The victim in the downtown shooting is expected to survive. Orlando Police Department officers shot a 35-year-old man armed with a gun who entered an innocent bystander’s vehicle while fleeing police at a Metro West area apartment complex early Wednesday, officials said.OPD Deputy Chief Eric Smith told reporters that officers responded just before 1 a.m. to multiple calls from the Vista Verde apartments on Hiawassee Road about a “suspicious person knocking on windows.”
Callers also reported possible gunshots, Smith said.
Officers arrived to find the suspect, later identified as Steffan Haskins, walking through the parking lot, but he soon took off running, Smith said.
“They caught up to him as he started to get into somebody’s vehicle,” Smith said. “The vehicle was driving into the parking lot [and] he jumped into the passenger side of that vehicle.”

With fire!
To hear Killary cite ‘assault’ on ‘virtue’ as a concern brings a fundamental question to her logic: Does she own a fking mirror?
No one wants your input, you nothing of a individual.
“The vehicle was driving into the parking lot [and] he jumped into the passenger side of that vehicle.”
I would have accelerated sharply and then immediately slam on the brakes thus ending his ride.
Prolly be an opening for 4 new officers in the PDRofMD soon. Can’t have LEOs firing back at “Gud Bois” who dindunuffin.
Home Boy in Orlando thought the car was his Uber ride. Was only firing his gunz to get the driver’s attention.
When oh when is Shitcongo gonna pass some common sense Gun Control Laws. Off duty officer to be relieved of duty by the Dishonorable Mayor in 5.4.3…
Gunz reviewer singing all kinds of Saintly praises on the target shooting abilities. Wonder how it works on stains?

Nathan Gorensteen author of The Guns OF John Moses Browning was on the Lars Larson WFTL Radio show last night talking about Mr. Browning, and The guns he designed were all put together in his head. Interesting.
I’m all for innovation, generally ambivalent about SA (own an M1A from they), enjoy the idea of increased accuracy and reliability of Arms…
But that rifle is an abomination. Eugene Stoner wept.
Learn from my ‘mistakes’, no system beats the traditional AR for a number of reasons.
If I had an AR, it would have 5.56mm stamped on the receiver and an extractor upgrade for steel, never mind. The .223 Wylde round is a solution in search of a problem. Marketing, of course.
I don’t write ’em.
Only major change is making the forend mount to the lower. Shoulda made it a gas piston gun, but that is a different argument. Functionally a Saint is just a nice AR.
KOB: Rifleman sez Browning Sr.’s home and gun shop in Nauvoo, IL. can be toured in-person and on-line. Might be interesting.
Roger that David. Had heard that before. Right now, ’bout the only thing that would get me to Illy Noise would be a SAR to retrieve Ex-PH2 and OAM from behind enemy lines.
In re of Jeff’s comment on Saint John’s lack of drawings for his designs read something waaaaaay back yonder that he never made drawing so his ideas wouldn’t get stolen. Mighta been the FIRST time somebody really forced others to do reverse engineering to make copies. He mighta learned that lesson from Eli Whitney (see gin, cotton or FIRST assembly line production).
Some of the foreign outfits that Saint John (HBHN) approached to manufacture his stuff got their stepins twisted because he didn’t want to provide drawings before the contract was signed.
