Off-duty Baltimore police officer shoots, kills suspect linked to at least 2 deaths
The unidentified officer was at a barbershop in the city when the suspect entered the business and killed the barber, authorities said

By Kyle Morris
An off-duty police officer who was getting a haircut Saturday soon shot and killed a suspect believed to have been behind a weekend shooting spree in Baltimore that left two people dead.

Police arriving at the barbershop “learned that an armed gunman walked into the business and shot and killed” a male barber before an off-duty police officer who was in the business at the time “shot the suspect, killing him,” according to a statement posted on social media by the Baltimore Police Department.

“Investigators believe that the suspect involved in this shooting was also responsible for the shooting that occurred today in the 5000 block of East Oliver Street and the Homicide that occurred in the 4600 block of Eastern Avenue,” the statement said.

Defendant not guilty in fatal shooting of neighbor

BY OLIVIER UYTTEBROUCK
A jury found Christopher Taber, 41, not guilty of first-degree murder last week in the 2019 shooting death of his neighbor during a dispute outside their Northwest Albuquerque homes.

The 2nd Judicial District Court jury apparently accepted the narrative of defense attorneys that Tabor was defending himself when he fatally shot Daniel Salazar on June 30, 2019.

Man who shot Seminole school employee at gas station will not face charges, police say

Dave McDaniel
On grounds of self-defense, no charges will be filed in the case of a man who shot 32-year-old Maurice Holloway at a Racetrac in Sanford Thursday, the Sanford Police Department said.

Around 9 a.m., Sanford police received 911 calls from inside a RaceTrac, reporting two men were engaged in a heated argument, officials said.

One of those men has been identified as 32-year-old Maurice Holloway, a delivery driver for Seminole County Public Schools who had stopped at the gas station in a school district truck.

“There is a long-standing history of some kind, tumultuous history between those two parties and even additional family members,” said Bianca Gillett, with the Sanford Police Department.

Police say witnesses tell them Holloway was verbally threatening the other man and it escalated with Holloway exiting and returning inside the gas station three different times.

” Holloway is 6 feet, 8 inches tall, threatening in stature, adding multiple eye-witnesses not only heard Holloway repeatedly threaten the man but say they also feared for their lives.”

Yep, my 5’7″ 150lbs old gimlet azz woulda felt threatened too. Mr. Khar woulda cut him down to size. Some call him Maurice, some may have called him a gangsta of love. Now we can call him DRT. He has been schooled.

Murdermore Mary Land Officer had a close shave there. Perp having a bad hair day?

Good job by the Albuquerque Jury. Glad they didn’t take that left turn.

Unique and different scary black rifle you gots there Mister. Has a sideways flippy thing in the back, ‘stead of a flippy up. No mention of chainsaw bayonet attachment.

Since the baltimore riots a few years ago, the Dennis Smith Firehouse magazine convention has moved to another state. Started in baltimore around 1989 or a little earlier or a little later, which I can’t remember

Bravo-Zulu to the off-duty Baltimore LEO for his contribution to urban renewal and upgrade..

Congratulations to Mister Taber on the State’s adjudication of his innocence. Great to be alive, idn’t it..?

As for Maurice Holloway, if he’d kept his big yap shut and just walked away. Returning three times to renew/reinforce his threats? As I was taught – there are only two reasons to bring out a weapon – to clean it or to use it – without public service announcements or threats. Thank you, AW1Ed!

P.S. Mister Bovard makes a very wise statement.
