Officers fatally shoot man threatening own family with cleaver in Palms, LAPD says

By John Gregory
Los Angeles police officers shot and killed a man who was threatening his own family with a meat cleaver inside a Palms apartment early Wednesday morning, officials say.

Police were called to Keystone Avenue around 6 a.m. on a report of a loud disturbance in an apartment.

As officers approached the apartment, they could hear a loud struggle inside.

“Fearing for the safety of the family members they knew were inside, they forced entry,” said Det. Meghan Aguilar with LAPD. “When they entered the apartment, they did see the suspect still armed with a knife and that’s when the officer-involved shooting occurred.”

Georgia police say woman who tried to rob 2 men at gunpoint was shot to death by own firearm

Danielle Wallace
Georgia police on Wednesday identified a dead female robbery suspect who allegedly tried to rob two men at gunpoint inside a vehicle but was shot and killed by her own gun during a struggle.

The Warner Robins Police Department said its officers were dispatched at 12:30 a.m. Sunday to the 100 block of Fred Drive and found 21-year-old Kyndal Reynolds with a gunshot wound. Reynolds was transported to Houston Medical Center, where she died.

Reynolds and another woman, 42-year-old Tywana Antonette Cody, met two men earlier in the night. While all four were together inside a vehicle, Reynolds “attempted to rob the male companions,” police said. Investigators believe one of the men attempted to disarm her, and Reynolds was shot with her own weapon during a struggle.

“All parties stayed on scene and met with investigators,” police said.

Norway bow-and-arrow attack that left 5 dead appears to be ‘act of terrorism,’ officials say
Incident happened Wednesday in town of Kongsberg

The deadly bow-and-arrow attack carried out by a Danish suspect in a small Norwegian town yesterday that claimed the lives of five people “currently appear[s] to be an act of terrorism,” Norway’s national security agency announced Thursday.

The suspect – a Muslim convert who was previously flagged as having been radicalized, according to police – is accused of having shot at people in a number of locations in the town of Kongsberg on Wednesday evening. Several of the victims were in a supermarket, police said.

“There earlier had been worries of the man having been radicalized,” Police chief Ole B. Saeverud said during a news conference. He added that there were “complicated assessments related to the motive, and it will take time before this is clarified.” He didn’t elaborate on what was meant by being radicalized.

Thanks, Poe. In case any are wondering:

Norway has some of the strictest gun control laws around today. It is only possible to obtain permission to own a weapon by having officially documented a use for the gun with the local police and taken extensive training relevant to the intended use of the weapon. Generally, this falls into two categories: hunting and sports shooting.

Why do so many who recently converted to Islam feel the need to conduct their own jihad?

5JC

Converts of any religion are the most fervent believers.

That quote reminds me that we lost a good one this year with the passing of G Gordon. If you want to know who to blame for “Thank you for your service” blame him. IDK if he came up with it or not but he sure shouted it from the rooftops. He also did a great job helping to raise four of five kids.

A news photo of the arrows showed they are target arrows.
While certainly lethal, hunting arrows with razor fins
would have been more humane. Maybe thats the point…so to speak.

That must have been one hell of a fight with June yelling
at Ward to just calm down and cut the Beavers birthday cake.

Once again, we see both the short and long term effects of bringing a knife to a gun fight. Or a gun to a knife fight. Either way.

The sharpest cleaver I’ve ever seen is June. Start my day with a trifecta of Barbaras…two (2) of Billingslea and one (1) of Hale.

Ol’ Joe lost his freedom along with his SA during his “attempter” robbery. Ya never know who might be in the store with you.

Careful who you hook up with in WR Ga. Place is notorious for bait and rob. Back when Craig’s List had their personals column running that was almost a daily occurence.

The “Religion of Peace”…Spreading terror and discontent worldwide since the 7th century. Now we’ve imported another 100K of them into the heart of our homeland, courtesy of the US Taxpayer. Better work on some common sense bow laws…Stat!

Just ban high capacity quivers. No one needs more than five arrows to protect themselves.

And when are politicians going to introduce some common sense legislation to close the Bow and Arrow Show loophole? They are beholden to the NBAA. That would be the National Bow and Arrow Association.

5JC

If they had only listened to common sense ideas from the Bloomberg backed National American Missile Bowyer Law Association (NAMBLA) Bow crime could have been eliminated. But now that socialist David Thorstad has taken the express train to hell they will have to start all over again.

Ya left out Barbara Eden. She would grant your wish…

rgr1480

Ooooooohhhhhh ….. Barbara Eden …….

KoB

^WORD^ She don’t come on the METV Broadcast Channel, that I know of. If so, it would be at 0GOD30 of a morning. I do get a double shot of Billingslea so there is that.

One of Barbara Eden’s FIRST (ht 2 NDHoosier) TV spots was as the manicurist on Andy Griffith, in Floyd’s Barber Shop.
