Suspect in a Green Bay home invasion shot by resident of that home
by: Kris Schuller
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Green Bay Police are investigating a shooting on the city’s east side this morning that sent one man to the hospital. Kris Schuller reports the person shot was a suspect in a home invasion – shot by the resident of that home.On Laverne Drive on Green Bay’s east side – the neighborhood is quiet, few people outside. But hours earlier it was a much different scene with officers investigating a shooting, sparked by an alleged home invasion by a 31-year-old man.
“A homeowner was awoken, somebody trying to kick in the front door. That homeowner retrieved his weapon as a person entered the house. He fired one shot and hit the person,” said Interim Police Chief Jim Runge.

The mere sight of a 686 makes me smile though I confess to having a certain prejudice for the darker 586 version.
Hope the homeowner’s door was too badly damaged. Secure doors don’t come cheap in an economy that is devastated by subversive socialist-democrats of spending binge.
That read that hope is that the door was NOT too badly damaged. At least he didn’t have to shoot through it.
I just got a 686 3” barrel. Sweet pistol. Loved this my first revolver that I went out and bought a model 66. Sweeeet shooters!!!
I had a 4 inch 586 before the tragic boating incident. sweet trigger especially single action.
Oh yeah. Very nice triggers.
Yep, triggers us all to want and go out and buy one. Better patch the boat FIRST (ht 2 Hack Stone).
Another career criminal with poor victim selection skilz taken off the streets. For a little while anyhow.
Here’s a linky to the story that USAFRetired makes mention of in his comment below. Maconga, the Chiraq of Central GA. And you wonder why I don’t let Lady Friends go there without an armed escort. Going to the Maconga Mall usually requires a wingman and another to act as a covering/quick reaction force. Sad that it came to that.

I’m trying to find a complete written article on an event locally from Sunday. It seems three miscreants got in a fight in the food court of a local mall attacking a fourth man. Not only was it 3 vs 1 but one of the three, a 17 year old had a .40 S&W of some flavor. The gentlemen in question managed to escape the grasp of his assailants, took the weapon away from the young man and shot him with it before fleeing.
The young man assumed room temperature about an hour later.
