Arrest made in murder of two military physicians in their own front yard

Colonels (Drs) Edward McDaniel Jr and Brenda McDaniel

Poe sends in word that two men have been arrested and charged in connection with the slaying of two married Army physicians (pictured above). Both Doctor Edward McDaniel Jr, 55, and his wife Doctor Brenda McDaniel, 63, were colonels in the US Army Medical Corps, with Edward still on active duty. They were murdered in cold blood in their own front yard on Wednesday in Virginia. Motive has yet to be announced, but they think it was related to a burglary of the doctors’ home on Monday.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the Wednesday shooting of a married couple, both of whom were military physicians.

Edward McDaniel Jr., 55, and his wife, Brenda McDaniel, 63, of Springfield, Virginia, were shot to death at point-blank range in front of their home. Both held the rank of colonel and Edward was still active in the Army.

Deangelo Strand, 19, of Fort Washington, Maryland, and Ronnie Marshall, 20, were arrested Thursday on charges of second-degree murder and use of firearms in the commission of a felony, according to WTOP-TV.

Earlier Thursday, police had publicly identified Marshall as being wanted in connection with the killings and launched a manhunt for him.

Police said that the men were co-workers of a relative of the victims.

“Two distinguished military veterans were gunned down in their front yard,” Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said Wednesday, according to Fox News.

Davis said the couple “served our community for many, many years. And they were shot and killed in cold blood in their own front yard.”

Davis called the shooting a “tragic, brutal, vicious double-murder,” according to WJLA-TV. “This was not a random act of violence.”

The police chief said he believed the couple’s son was in the home while his parents were killed.

Fairfax County Police were at the same house for many hours on Monday to investigate a burglary report and a dispute.

Authorities believe the murders were connected to the Monday incident.

Major Ed O’Carroll, the county’s major crimes unit commander, told Fox News police received a tip after having announced the type of car they were seeking in connection with the killings. The tip led to one arrest.

“Thanks to the community, we got our offenders,” O’Carroll said. He noted that U.S. Marshals provided great assistance in the arrests.

“Deangelo”, sounds like the name of some Amish Anarchist. I hope that the guilty parties are convicted and put down like the animals they are.

Animal

You got it all wrong. Clearly mennonite.

Green Thumb

Fuck him.

Give him the chair.

cobrakai99

I hope they are looking into that relative that the suspects work with too.

OWB

Good that the killers were ID’d and arrested. Otherwise, nothing good about this story.

May the family members who deserve it receive some peace one day. Those who may have instigated all this? Not so much.

KoB

Been following this one for several days now. One aspect of this case that hasn’t seen much press, is what was the “relationship” between the perps and the son of these Doctors/Colonels? Another question that comes to mind is, Was the son somehow a part of, or an instigator of this murder? 2nd degree murder my azz.

These 2 punks should swing at the end of a rope, but we know that will never happen. “They were gud bois, just needing a little money for choir robes and college books”.

Governor Ralph Coonman Northam will not carry out out a Capital sentence, unless it is against a baby within the first day of birth.

Further proof of how liberalism is a Mental Disorder, look at how shitballs like Northam will do all they can to spare the lives of convicted murderers while openly espousing the wanton killing of unborn Children!

Poetrooper

When I sent this to Mason, I was unaware the the two colonels/doctors were black. The news item caught my eye because the perps are black and I immediately thought of the article about the black Air Force LTC doctor who was pissing and moaning about racial prejudice.

My first thought was, “If you want to cite examples of racial prejudice, Doctor, how’s this one?”

My bad–I am guilty of jumping to the conclusion that the victims were white. That’s an easy leap to make when so many whites are killed by blacks, but then again, they kill as many or more of their own.

Don’t they…

A Proud Infidel®™️

Last I looked, the Black-on-Black murder rate far surpasses any others, especially one Black Male on another.

Hack Stone

Waiting for “Reverend” Al Sharpton to launch a march to demand justice for these victims. Oh, it wasn’t by a white police officer, so their murders don’t matter.

Ret_25X

that isn’t the issue at all.

You see, black deaths only matter when the victim is a thug or criminal of some sort AND it is a cop of any color that shot them.

When thugs shoot honest, law abiding citizens that is just the cost of business to Messy Jackson, Al Charlatan, and Big Loots Matter.

Juan Williams will spin this into white people are racists in 3,2,1…

Charged with 2nd degree ONLY!? The hell you say! The couple were murdered with malice, intent, and forethought. Should be 1st degree murder, with no plea bargain, and death penalty on the table, front & center.

NOT seeking to disagree with you but bear in mind – it goes to what the State can actually prove(beyond a reasonable doubt). As for ‘plea deals’ – don’t get me started… Shooting two physicians – regardless of colour? Calls for THE most dire punishment that can be applied. Murder two people in cold blood/for profit/fun etc – then one forfeits their life. Period. In spite of a lot of Canadian being against it – I’ve always been strongly in favour of Capitol punishment from the git-go and in this case and given to the level of this particular offense – think this particular perp needs to be slowly hung and then promptly shot. Not without empathy – I wouldn’t want some woke-little-cunt bitching and complaining to their local-yokel politician that the application of Capitol punishment isn’t ‘humane’…

David

Explain it like this: post-punishment recidivism just doesn’t happen.

Two thumbs up!!

The wife was NOT a doctor. She was a NURSE.
Updates and corrections to original story found easily.

Worse, “The Federalist Papers org” printed the ERRORS 1 day AFTER they were corrected and updated elsewhere.

Perhaps best to root around for updates and corrections BEFORE buying the 1st site one reads.

I’ll leave the criticism of “The Federal Papers dot org” to others.
And don’t throw NBC Washington back at me,
as these details are out there in many places.

Whoa whoa, White House nurse under the Clintons?

Did she know something that all the sudden became relevant?

Did she treat the Clintons for STDs? Did she overheard something compromising?

HMMmmm, the plot thickens…

Thanks for the focus-pull😎👍

MI Ranger

Why do people (reporters…not journalists) always say winning awards?! In the military one earns their awards, either for valor or merit. Athletes and Actors win awards.

Hack Stone

Quite a few news stations in the National Capital Region reported both of them as being doctors.

Hatchet

Apologies – didn’t completely read the article through – may BOTH perp’s(can’t bring myself to repeat their names) either die painfully and slowly in the Death Chamber or die slowly one day at a time with a Life sentence in prison and of course, whenever and however they die – rot in deepest, darkest recesses of Hell…

A Proud Infidel®™

I used to think of lethal injection as being TOO humane of a way to die for convicted and condemned murderers, but I then thought that animals who hurt people are put down by the same method, thus the murderers are put down like the animals that they are.

Slow Joe

What were they trying to steal?

It looks more like a hit job than a burglary gone wrong…

You could very well be on to something, stay anonymous, my friend…

Surprisingly, Deangelo Strand has only two entries on the Maryland Case Judiciary Search page, both incidents within the last two months. And tomorrow is his birthday. Will he be released on home confinement to celebrate with his last vex ones?

Hack Stone

“Last vex ones”? What the hell has Hack Stone been smoking? It should read “loved ones”, but it shall remain as written, as a warning to anyone who purchased their spellcheck software from a proud but humble woman owned business that sells software to the federal government formerly located in Bethesda Maryland.

All of the reviews that I have read about the “No Door” brand of spellcheck have been bad.
