Commissioner: Suspect Fatally Shot After Opening Fire On Baltimore Police Officers In Unmarked Car, Injuring 1

By Rachael Cardin
A city police officer was injured and a suspect was killed in a southwest Baltimore shooting Monday morning, according to police.

Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said the officer, who is part of a warrant apprehension task force, was working a surveillance operation in a domestic violence case in the area of Westwood Avenue and North Ellamont Street around 9:40 a.m. when the shooting occurred.

That’s when one of the officers returned fire onto the suspect, striking him multiple times. Officers rendered aid to the suspect and injured officer until EMS arrived, the police commissioner said. Both were taken to Shock Trauma for treatment.

The suspect was pronounced dead at 10:15 a.m. Harrison said his identity will be withheld until his family is notified of his death.

Harrison said the officer is in good condition and in “good spirits.”

Pizzeria workers chase armed would-be thief ‘around the restaurant’ and restrain him until authorities arrive
In a statement, however, authorities recommended against fighting off armed suspects

By Michael Hollan
A Connecticut pizzeria owner and one of its employees reportedly fought off and apprehended a would-be robber over the weekend. But while the suspect was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, authorities issued a statement reminding business owners not to risk the safety of themselves, customers and employees during a robbery.

Police arrested Colton Balskus on Sunday after an incident at Wooster Pizza in Cromwell, the Hartford Courant reports. The 21-year-old faces a list of charges that include first-degree robbery, third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, and several others.

Balskus allegedly pointed what turned out to be an Airsoft BB gun at the restaurant’s owner and demanded money. Instead of complying, the owner disarmed the suspect and reportedly “chased him around the restaurant” until one of the employees helped apprehend him, police say.

The owner and employee then restrained Balskus until authorities arrived.

Off topic, but I’m starting a campaign: Resist “46”.
The inspiration, connotations and punctuation is 100% intentional, I expect consequences.
Be the change, or something.
(Maybe not too OT, as I feel gooder!)

Why not, instead, drop that in one of the political threads? Do I have to remind you “46” times?

Grin.

“46”

Like.

I woke up and wanted to drop it somewhere before coffee and a nail.
I fully acknowledge the indiscretion and accept all the incoming fires from the Gas Passer in Chief.

Either light me one or quit bogarting the damn thing. Is it mentholated? I’ll put on a fresh pot. Nearly 3 years and I’d still cut someones lips off with a straight razor to get my “claws” on that nail.

Wonder when the mostly peaceful protests will be starting in B’more? One less bag of trash on its way to the dump…from the dump.

No take out in the Big House, Dippy. Better hope your bunky is a “Little” Ceasar.

Those punks may have felt lucky…but feeling lucky don’t make one lucky. All God’s Chill’ren needs them some hand cannon.

Don’t lie for the other guy:

This idiot is going to jail, and rightly so.

Mr. Black will likely end up losing his right to own a gun. He may in fact face a more likely sentence over the incident that Rittenhouse…the things you learn when you are 18!
Don’t screw up the privilege you just earned by trying to give it away to those who have not yet earned it. Hard way to learn it though!

Given how most “Great Society” programs have turned out, the quote from LBJ above is one of the most ironic (and hypocritical) things I’ve ever read.

Hondo

Yeah, AW1Ed, I “got” it. But LBJ making a hypocritical statement like that doesn’t surprise me one whit.

LBJ is IMO the most loathsome individual to ever hold the office of POTUS. He was thoroughly politically and morally corrupt. He prospered hugely while in office through political influence (his wife’s broadcast holdings were greatly assisted and their value markedly enhanced by LBJ’s influence over the FCC while he was in Congress). Though married, he’d fornicate anything attractive wearing a skirt and as I recall put a number of his paramours on the Federal payroll. His political future was only saved in 1948 by massive election fraud – of which it’s impossible to conclude LBJ was ignorant. LBJ knew EXACTLY how South Texas elections worked in the 1940s; misplaying the “find more votes” game had cost him an election a few years earlier.

The only POTUS who IMO might be an even worse individual is Clintoon. And that’s only if Cigarman indeed took his trips on Epstein’s “Lolita Express” to partake in “special activities” in the Dominican Republic or if Broadrick’s allegations that he’s a rapist are true. Otherwise, I have to give LBJ the nod.
