What’s Old is New Again

Go ahead, bark at the Moon

I’ve been looking for this piece of music for a while.

It was 1974. When Paper Lace (Brit group) released this, it was on the radio all the time. It was written about Chicago in the Capone era. when the cops were battling the Mob, and might have seemed out of place back then, because the Vietnam War was over and things were starting to get back to “normal” – whatever that was.  Even so, the song was Number One for many weeks.

Now – well, it’s almost too real and contemporary to let it slide back into pop history, even if Capone is dead. It suits today’s strange course of events. And in support of law enforcement, with the most difficult job in the world, it’s an appropriate song to play

What is the world coming to?

Had forgotten about this one Mi’Lady, maybe intentionally! 😆 Was neck deep into hard driving Rock n Roll then and true classic country. Never was much on the “Pop Music” scene.

You are correct tho, the vocals are still very much apropos in the story that is told. Down heah, we are still very much into that whole “Back the Blue” thing.

The news media and the leftards don’t realize just how many Americans are fed up with this crap. Had a meet with some Compatriots on yesterday past. We discussed and laid out plans for another fall back position and COP that is a little more secluded.

It’s coming.

Wouldn’t most folks consider the “east side of Chicago” to be Lake Michigan? Catchy tune, but that line never made sense to me.

Ex-PH2

It would be between the Outer Drive and the lake, where the projects used to be and are now gone. Must have been lotsa changes since Capone was alive.

LOTS is the key word!! Fairly certain that neither you or Mister Capone would recognize the ‘changes’ that have been made to the present-day Windy City https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Side,_Chicago
