Another day and more muck to rake…
Portland this weekend continued to be a source of “protests” in which groups of masked people go around breaking the law in the name of justice. It used to be such things were frowned upon in society, but we have sitting politicians and news anchors encouraging the behavior. One such Congresscritter is Representative Ayanna Pressley (D-MA). Over the weekend she told an MSNBC anchor, on live TV and unironically, “There needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there’s unrest in our lives, and unfortunately, there’s plenty to go around.” Tiffany Cross, the anchor, replied with “I have no retort to that. That is certainly accurate.”
Meanwhile in Portland was this scene of “mostly peaceful” people assaulting a man, a woman who was with him, and damaging his truck. Allegedly the man and woman were defending someone the justice mob had robbed. The man eventually flees the area but crashes a couple blocks away. The crowd pursues him, detains him, searches his property, peppers him with racist hate speech, and then one person blindsides him with a kick to the head. I’m sure they can see the irony in “protesting” police use of force by becoming the very monsters they think the police are. They probably miss that, just like the “security” goons and thugs at the CHAZ in Seattle did (who made it less than a day before they were stifling free speech, freedom of movement, etc.). Incidentally, the thug who beat this guy is wearing a security vest.

I’m fine with people marching in the streets… so long as they do it peacefully, and don’t disrupt others. The moment looting, blocking of traffic or violence starts, those people need to face consequences.

My reply was exactly what it is – if people are being violent, they need to arrested and spend time in jail. But people are afforded the right to peacefully protest, so yes, I tend to support that. Which of those two things do you disagree with?

Then you get very specific with a link to a no-injury flash bang toss story and softly calling out TAH for not having it posted yet.

As a rule I generally watch at all of the major broadcast news stories. (The better to know thine enemy) The local Fox affiliate doesn’t show Fox news since the primary station is ABC. All that being said, I have yet to see any of this on a news cast. Why am I not surprised.
