Michigan Man Fatally Shot After Stabbing In Fight Over Wearing A Mask
A confrontation over a mask has led to a stabbing and a deadly shooting southwest of Lansing.
According to Michigan State Police, the suspect walked in a Quality Dairy convenience store in Windsor Twp. Tuesday morning without a mask, and was told that he had to wear one.
An argument broke out between the man and other customers in the store, police said, and the maskless man — identified as 43-year-old Sean Ernest Ruis — was refused service by store employees.
The dispute escalated, and it’s alleged that Ruis pulled out a knife and stabbed a 77-year-old Lansing man.
Ruis, a Grand Ledge resident, then got into his car and fled.
He drove to Delta Township where he was pulled over by an Eaton County Sheriff’s deputy on Jerryson Drive.
“She approached the car and he approached her with a knife, and she shot and killed him,” WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick reported.
Ruis was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.

California: Felon Shoots Man in Self Defense & Later Set Free
by Dean Weingarten
U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- On 2 July, 2020 at about 9:40 a.m., Mark Anthony Nelson Jr. shot an apparently armed robber as he exited the Patriot gas station where Nelson worked as a clerk. It would seem to be a clear justified shooting.Nelson lied to the police, probably because he is a convicted felon. He was convicted in 2011 of shooting a woman who rammed his vehicle.
He denied shooting the robbery suspect, Jeffrey Allen Kirwan. He denied having a firearm that was found hidden in the store. The firearm had been reported stolen. Nelson had a bullet in his pocket.
He was arrested on 2 July. From kymkemp.com:
Nelson Jr. was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of murder (PC 187(a)), possession of stolen property (PC 496(a)) and convicted felon in possession of a firearm (PC 29800(a)). He is being held without bail pending arraignment.
The community started speaking out in defense of Nelson. He had a great reputation. An attorney agreed to represent Nelson pro-bono. On 7 July 2020, Nelson gave a different statement to investigators. He is reported to have admitted shooting and killing Kirwan but said it was self-defense.
His second statement was consistent with the physical evidence and witness statements. From nothcoastjournal.com:
Mark Anthony Nelson Jr. — a 39-year-old gas station clerk from Eureka — has had quite a week.
A man came to rob the gas station where he worked.
He shot and killed that man, prompting his arrest on suspicion of murder, possessing stolen property and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into Humboldt County Correctional facility without bail and quarantined there for five days.
Then yesterday, in a stunning reversal, the Humboldt County District Attorney’s decided no charges would be filed in the case. Nelson walked free and joined his partner Cynthia Shelton and their 14-year-old daughter for a quiet night at home.
Some claimed that “systemic racism” exists such that a white man wouldn’t have gone to jail, in the comments at kymkemp.com.

Customer armed with gun stops machete-wielding man who entered Metairie store: JPSO
BY MICHELLE HUNTER
A man who entered a Metairie convenience store armed with a machete and threatened an employee fled after he was confronted by a customer who was armed with a gun, according to authorities. The blade-wielding suspect was later identified as Robert Merritt, 37, of Metairie. He was taken into custody after returning to the store while deputies were still investigating, a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office arrest report said.
The incident began just before 5:30 a.m. at a store in the 2100 block of Cleary Avenue on Friday. An employee told investigators the man later identified as Merritt approached him while he was outside the store, said Capt. Jason Rivarde, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.
Merritt threatened to kill the employee, then walked inside and began taking beers, according to Rivarde. He’s accused of again threatening to kill the employee, who had walked inside the store.
That’s when an unidentified male customer who was also inside the store at the time pulled out his concealed gun and pointed it at Merritt, Rivarde said. While Merritt was distracted, the employee grabbed the machete and called 911 for help.
Merritt allegedly told the employee he’d leave if given back his machete, according to Rivarde. The employee handed back the blade, and Merritt fled the store, dropping his wallet.

Words fail me, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. What, he just borrowed the machete and needed to return it? At least he was considerate enough to leave his wallet at the scene.

Ruis was taken to a local hospital where he died of his stupidity. FIFY
Y’all have GOT to read the comments in the linky on the kommiefornia story. Got on the DA for doing the right thing.
The last story “merits” another stating of the old knife to a gun fight saying. A twofer on that today.
Not sure if the slobber on my screen today is from the CZ Gun pr0n or the Ms Thang whose white outfit has the privilege of being wrapped around that body of evidence. Honey Hush and Child Puleeze.
We’ll raise a glass to the Platoon Daddy today. I’ll just try and leave this right here.

Can a Darwin Award be given to an entire political movement?
Now that is a nice rack!!
[…] This ain’t Hell… has your feel good stories, and more during the week. […]
Poor finger control on that Ppsh41, but I approve the blood spatter pattern on her dress. Good thing she’s wearing white before Labor Day.
(Is this an Oleg Volk photo?)
I’m told there’s a firearm somewhere in that photo.
Yea AW1 Rod, I found it and it’s behind the balloons. I really dig that Chick who’s the apple of my eye.
Poor Ruis (NOT!).
In spite of repeated, “don’t bring a knife to a gun fight”, some people never learn. Ruis doesn’t have to worry about that any more. He’s been “socially graduated”.
I wonder if Claw has finished PMCS on the Whiz Wheel and can give us a score on Ruis, with a BLDAM (@-6ft AGL) multiplier.
Whiz Wheel®™ Quarterly Scheduled Maintenance (as marked on the DD Form 314) completed, so:
Sean Ernest Ruis (BLDAM/@-6ft AGL/DOT) 14 x 5 = 70
Even in death, what a loser of a low score, even with the BLDAM @-6ft AGL DOT multiplier.
