It’s never wise to assault your EX, it’s even “more dumber” to do it in front of her father.
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS– The couple at the center of a disturbance that ended with a deadly shooting on the city’s Northeast side had a history of trouble, San Antonio police said.
Officer Douglas Greene, a public information officer for SAPD, told reporters that police had been called previously and that at least one of those incidents recently resulted in a police report being generated.
The incident late Wednesday night resulted in Daniel Veliz, 36, being shot and killed outside a home in the 15900 block of Redwoods Manor.
Greene said Veliz showed up there before 10 pm. and caused a commotion.
“(He) confronted the ex-girlfriend. They got into a verbal altercation, which turned into a physical altercation on the front porch,” he said.
At that point, Greene said, the woman’s 59-year-old father came out of the home carrying a gun. He told officers he used it in self-defense.
“We’re being told at some point he lunged toward the father, and that’s when the father felt compelled to shoot the individual,” Greene said.
A police report said Veliz suffered gunshot wounds to his head, leg and upper body. He was rushed to a hospital where he died.
The police report said there were children inside the home when the shooting happened. Although they did not witness the shooting, they heard everything, the report said.
Officers recovered the gun involved and spent time talking to the suspected shooter, who they said shared his side of the story willingly.
“This appears to be a situation of a domestic disturbance where the father stepped in to try and help his daughter,” Greene said.
He stressed, though, that the case is still under investigation.

The report did not however mention Veliz’s
missing testicles and penis which were later
found in the garbage disposal.
There was another story by the same news source that gave a little more information about Daniel Rudy Veliz, forever age 37. Seems he was convicted of Sex With a Minor Child in 2008, spent five years in the slammer and was currently registered as a sex offender.

So will he have to notify the Sex Offender Registry people that he has permanently relocated to Eternal Rest Cemetery? Wondering if his grave will be required to be located at least 500 feet from the graves of any children.
Word on the streets of San Antonio is that Daniel Veliz’ Probation Officer dent the girl’s father a dozen flowers and a thank you card for clearing 30 minutes off his schedule every month.
Good thing he didn’t call for a social worker to come out and solve the problem.
Fathers will ALWAYS protect their girls whenever possible.
Texas fathers usually own and know how to use firearms.
We had a case a few years ago where a Texas father found a laborer he’d hired trying to rape his little girl. He beat the perp to death. I think the LEOs and DAs gave him a pat on the back and a job well done.
I remember that case, want to say it was in the Hill Country? I still remember the footage on AFN back in about 83-84 which showed a pedophile arriving in Shreveport airport after kidnapping and abusing one of his karate students. As he walked by some phones, a guy hung up, turned, and stuck a round in his ear – it was the kid’s father shortening the judicial process. One of ’em was named Doucetts, I believe? Eventually the father was acquitted of all charges.
