Boyfriend shoots woman’s ex who kicked down apartment door in SE Houston

By Jay R. Jordan
An apparently jilted ex-lover was shot after he kicked down an apartment door belonging to his ex-girlfriend early Wednesday, police say.

Police then charged the man who was shot, identified as 48-year-old Orrian Anders, with burglary of a habitation. He remains in the hospital as of Wednesday afternoon.

Anders showed up to his ex’s apartment in the 2700 block of Oakcliff around 12:30 a.m. and allegedly barged into the home, according to Houston Police Department Lt. Larry Crowson. His ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend was also inside the apartment when the man broke in, Crowson said.

At some point, Anders started attacking the new boyfriend, who pulled a gun and shot the intruder “in fear for his safety,” Crowson said.

No charges for Department of Corrections employee in fatal shooting of suspected burglar
Prosecutor cites difficulty of proving in court the DOC was not acting in self defense

By ELISE SCHMELZER
A Department of Corrections employee will not face criminal charges for allegedly shooting and killing a teenager suspected of breaking into a nearby home.

Denver District Attorney Beth McCann said in a statement Wednesday that she decided not to charge Desmond Manning, 46, in the killing of Alexis Mendez-Perez, 16, because there was not enough evidence for a jury to find Manning guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and to prove he wasn’t acting in self defense.

“Not only does the law require us to prove the elements of murder, it also requires us to disprove that Mr. Manning was defending his own life and the lives of his family when he shot Mendez-Perez,” McCann said in the statement. Her decision was first reported by 9News.

Denver police arrested Manning April 24 on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection to the shooting in the 14500 block of East 51st Place. A woman called 911 about 1:40 a.m. to report a burglary in progress at the house behind hers, according to a Denver police probable cause statement. The group of suspected burglars ran from the house shortly after police arrived and another neighbor, later identified as Manning, fired multiple rounds at them.

Mendez-Perez was transported from the scene and declared dead at a local hospital. Another burglary suspect, whose name is redacted in the document, was shot in the leg. The injured teenager told police he was running through a backyard, later determined to be Manning’s, when he and Mendez-Perez were shot.

Wrapping up the work week with a decent score, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. By all means read the last article in its entirety. It’s Denver, and that’s all I’ll say.

Fabian and his homie should have been on a straighter and narrower path. Maybe then his pal wouldn’t have taken a final walk on the plank. Had a meal at the Columbia MO Waffle House a few years back. At that point in time it was the one furtherest west. Whole damn town was sketchy as all hell. Made a deal with the motel manager to park my truck right at the door of the office. He was a UGA Grad caught behind enemy lines.

Hey dumbass, sometimes when she says it’s over, IT”S OVER!!! She’s just not that much into you. Unlike that smarten up lead pill that FNG injected you with.

Looks like someone took a 1911, washed it in hot water, and it shrunk.

Nope, that always happens after swimming.

In story 3…why is the employment of the guy important to the story? He wasn’t at work, did not shoot an inmate, and does not appear to have considered his job a factor for immunity….

The way that article is written appears to be an attempt to make the incident look like a “bad cop” story.

The depths of depravity Lars’ fellow travelers live in is indeed deep and disgusting.

But which is worse? The douche nozzle who writes such a story, or the douche bag who applauds and approves?

Nice piece of aluminium and steel for near $3K.
Too rich for my blood.

I’ll go for the <$800 new Walther PPK in .380 (made/assembled at Ft. Smith AK).
It will have to be the black finish since they don't blue them anymore; the stainless steel is just too bright for me.

And *not* the PPK/S
