Clark D. Schreiber; phony combat veteran
We heard about this fellow, Clark Schreiber, from someone who had served with him in the 1/9th Cav at Fort Hood, Texas back in the early part of the war in Iraq. Schreiber’s former workmate couldn’t remember him deploying with them in 2004, but Schreiber seemed to remember it;
Schreiber’s social media profile used to say that he was “Airborne infantry” and he likes wearing airborne tabs on his authentic looking vest;
Yeah, well, the NPRC doesn’t remember him being in the Ranger Regiment, nor do they remember that he graduated from the Basic Airborne Course. Also, they forgot that he deployed. There are no awards for service in war against terror, besides the accolades that everyone got. And there’s no Combat Infantryman Badge.
ADDED: Schreiber has sent me some authentic looking orders and it looks like NPRC didn’t do their job again. He indeed graduated from the Basic Airborne Course and he was assigned to 75th for a brief period of time – it looks like he terminated (un-volunteered) as soon as he arrived at the Ranger Battalion, that’s why it doesn’t show on his records.

Could be his unit slotted him in a team leader position after he was boarded for E-5 and that’s why they lateral promoted him from SPC to CPL. Can’t make E-5 without PLDC (I think they call it WLC now but in the early 2000’s it was still PLDC) which would have given him his first NCOPDR.
Pretty sure you can’t send someone to an NCOES school if they’re on a temporary profile, so my guess is his knees put him on profile and he just rode that until he was put out of the service. That would explain both the CPL rank and the lack of an NCOPDR.

It has reverted to the Basic Leaders Course, just like it was named in the 60s/70s.
Didn’t they used to call it PNOC? That was before my time but I recall hearing the term used.
I’m thinking that what used to be known as PNOCC is now known as ANCOC.

If he did terminate status, that would explain the lack of a Parachutist badge on the FOIA. Voluntary termination prior to 36 months cumulative jump status is grounds for revocation of the Parachutist Badge (para 1-31, AR 600-8-22). If he did that at RIP, I’d give damn long odds that his wings got revoked.
The same would also be true if he received UCMJ punishment (judicial or nonjudicial) for refusal to perform parachute duties.

I am beginning to be concerned about what we’re doing here. Matthew Bacak is a legit Veteran, as far as I can tell, who is neither a sock puppet nor a defender of scoundrels. Ten years later, Clark Schreiber’s GFM page used Brehm’s picture and announced “Foot March for SGT Dale G Brehm.” Wrote Schreiber, “I will step off from Chico August 2nd, 2016. I have chosen Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund as the charity receiving the dontations[sic].” One of the donors shared the name Brehm, presumably a relative of the sergeant’s.
$880 had been donated when, for some inexplicable reason, the GFM page came down. Coincidentally, that happened just days after Schreiber was featured at TAH. I expected that the Chico (the ruck march is from Chico to Turlock, SGT Brehm’s home town) Enterprise-Register would be all over this story of Clark Schreiber’s efforts. It’s not every day that a “medically retired” soldier with a bum leg marches 250 miles in 103 degree weather carrying 65 lbs. But, you know what? The paper has nothing whatsoever to say about Clark’s selflessness. I don’t understand it.

The emphasis, heretofore, went to the start point, Chico, CA, and to that city’s paper, the Enterprise-Record. Perhaps that was the wrong approach. After all, Clark Schreiber’s ruck march was (is?) in the name of his friend, US Army Ranger SGT Dale G Brehm who was killed in Iraq in 2006. SGT Brehm was a Turlock resident. Turlock has a newspaper. It’s called the Turlock Journal. I visited it today. Looks to be a fine newspaper and it allows FREE REGISTRATION and registration is required of commenters, at least those of us w/o a FB account or whatnot. First of all, let me outline a little bit of my background before I comment on Chip NASA’s disparaging comment about wife and mother of my son Clark Schreiber. Yes, I am Clark’s father. I am a military veteran who served proudly in the US Navy from 1961-1965. I was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CVA-64) and spent three tours in the South China Sea (Gulf of Tonkin) during the early years of the Vietnam War. I don’t pretend to be a seasoned combat veteran as I see many on this site seem to be, but saw enough action to know war is not for the faint of heart. I am also a retired law enforcement officer of nearly 30 years who has seen the worst of humanity much like the perils of war. In addition, I am a staunch supporter of veterans and veteran’s rights and give monetarily as much as I can afford. Today was the first time that I became aware of the controversy involving Clark and his military service. Needless to say, I have been taken back by the comments on TAH. If the allegations are accurate, as a veteran myself I would be as outraged as all on TAH has commented regardless of the fact that he is my son. As a former law enforcement officer, there is no excuse for criminal activity especially defrauding a charity or theft and as a parent, I would be extremely embarrassed. Good News! For one con artist named Clark Schreiber, that is. Earlier this morning I contacted the Butte County, Ca Sheriff’s Dept, where Chico, Ca is situated. The woman I spoke with flat shut me down. She claims the persons who donated to the GoFundMe page set up by con artist Clark Schreiber are the people who MUST first file a complaint with law enforcement. Even though I explained that the GoFundMe page had already been taken down and even when it was up and running, those who donated did not have their address listed on the page. The obvious question was, “Then, how could/can those people be contacted by anyone?” Response was basically one of, “THOSE are the people who were victims of a crime, they are the ones who must file a police report to get an investigation started.” It appears we are going to HAVE to think this one out to resolve it. If all LEA folks are going to respond like that, then we will HAVE to rely on a media source to out this con and expose him. There IS a way we can do this, God knows there are PLENTY of folks on T A H smart enough to figure it out. Keep in mind if you have any doubt if it is worth your time….the money collected by con artist Clark Schreiber was donated under the pretense that it would be turned over to Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund.
