Terry Lee Farmer; another phony Vietnam Vet
Someone sent us this article from KOKH Fox 25 in Oklahoma City about some veterans who teach kids about the US flag, which is a laudable enough venture. However, there’s one person in the article who is not being completely honest about his service. Terry Lee Farmer tells horrifying tales of his time in Vietnam;
“I went into the United States Marine Corps January 4, 1969,” says Terry Farmer, a Veteran and close friend of May’s.
Both May and Farmer served in Vietnam. They say the flag is what they fought for. “It’s not about us. It’s about the red, white and blue,” says Farmer.
“I saw my best friend…. get his head decapitated. That’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen,” says Farmer, tearing up.
Well, nothing is right about that story. Farmer did did not join the Marines on January 4, 1969, but rather on January 10th, 1971, and the rest is BS, too, according to his records;
The word is that he was injured in Boot Camp and draws disability for his injury – there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. But I also hear that he blames some of his bad behavior on PTS from his non-existent tour in Vietnam. That’s never acceptable.
He spent three months in the Marines and never saw Vietnam. That’s Farmer on your right;
Like I said, it’s commendable that Farmer is doing what he’s doing, Lord knows that kids need to learn more about the flag, but he can do it without making himself out to be something he’s not.

If they VA was trying to help they would throw out all the useless claims.Also if you weren’t in combat how can you prove PTSD?If you are non service connected how can you get a pension?They have these non combat related conditions given disability to keep the doors open at the VA Hospitals!
The VA should get good doctors instead of the ones who push drugs to vets.The employees go to break at the same time.Travel had you sign a form f or direct deposit and when you have an appointment they make you wait for hours for your signature o get paid.Tellin the vet they need your signature every time you go there.Forget the politicians that say they will help,they will help you if you are a phony getting benefits but won’t help combat wounded vets.The VA in Florida gets snowbirds
So if you are in need of of a doctor you have to wait r the summer months when they go back up north.
They make appointments while they are still up north.When they come down to Florida they have appointments for the 3,4 months they are here and we can’t see a doctor nd we live here.The VA
Should treat you in your own state unless it is n emergency!It never changes because nobody cares!

In regard to claims of PTSD, there is research underway now into an antihistamine that appears to remove painful memories, or at least blunt them. It’s being looked at as a way to treat PTSD. The tests are being done as blind studies, which means the people being tested don’t know what they’re getting, the antihistamine or a placebo.
If it is proven to work the way researchers find it does, it should alleviate the symptoms of PTSD in combat troops, among other sufferers of that problem.
It might also be used to eliminate lying douchebags like Terry Lee Farmer.

As for the comment Truman Burette made (which by the way was Terry’s dads name), I should know I was the first one to marry him in 1972 where he had just come out of boot camp. He was discharged under an Honorable Dischage (unacceptable for duty) He did get hit in the head in the Marines (during a pseuo battle – mispelled I’m sure) and he did not start having seziures that were recorded until 1972, his personality changed and he became mean where he started getting possessive and uncontrollable anger issues. As far as I know I was the First but not the last victim to his irradic behavior. Terry did not have a childhood illness of seziures as I went many times with him to his childhood doctor before he became mentally unstable. He played foot ball growing up and believe it or not he did not do drugs and drink. He did not start wearing his hair long until his older brother, Jimmy, was killed in the 70’s and he took on the role of his brother. Terry never rode motorcycles during the time that I was with him. But, Yes, he is a wife beater and in my opinion a murderer (as he kicked me in the stomach) causing me to miscarriage our second child. He beat me and left me for dead at Lake Draper. He went on to distroy many womens lives and did nothing to promote a positive loving environment for our daughter. It is about time that someone exposes Terry Lee Farmer for the fraud that he is. He did not receive a medical pension from the Marine Corp until after our divorce in 1976. These are the facts as I know them to be.
Barbara im glad he got exposed I have told my kids for years that 98% of stories he tells are untrue.I was scared of him growing up watching him beat on every woman he was with and there kids,I have tried for many years to get along with him but unless he is on his ‘happy” pills he is a complete nut and pathological liar.
By the way, today apparently is his birthday. Too bad someone doesn’t “gift” him with the link to this website. The schools need to know who they are allowing around the kids. He is a dangerous and frightening man who should be locked up so he will stop destroying lives.
Looks like old Terry did 3 1/2 years making license plates for the state of Oklahoma for child abuse back in August 1982 until January 1986.

I had the luxury of knowing Mr. Terry Farmer much more intimately as a child than I would have ever chosen to know. I kept the details of my unwanted relationship with Mr. Farmer, a secret for many years. Approximately, a year and a half ago, I came across this article. It instantly stirred up deeply buried memories from my childhood when my mother was married to Terry Farmer. I watched Terry hit my mother. I watched him beat my 3 year old brother with a 2×4 to the head. My family spent years in and out of DHS investigative offices and Oklahoma City courthouses trying to prove to judges that this man was unfit to be a stepfather in our lives. Finally in the early 90s, a judge agreed and we never had to see this man again, until the day I stumbled across this article. As many have indicated, Terry Farmer was a woman beater, a child molester, a child beater, and a filthy piece of scum. While I made a choice to keep my secrets, when I saw him in a photo standing near so many young girls who look much like I did when he came into our lives, my heart broke. At that moment and through my tears I had to devise a plan to keep this man out of schools and away from children forever. It has been a long time, and my own family dynamic has forever changed because of the selfishness and lewd character Terry Farmer has always portrayed. However, enough is enough. April- I have watched this website almost daily after I made first contact with them. I knew there had to be someone somewhere who could do or say something that would make an impact. My story is fortunately not as tragic or life-altering as yours. Because I was an adult when he turned my life upside down, left me with little to work with as far as the authorities were concerned. Also, after many many years, I still sometimes find myself watching over my shoulder. He made many many threats, and I never knew which he would carry out. I’m sure many are in my same situation. I will keep your efforts in my prayers.
Good luck to each and every one of you whose live have been adversely impacted by this man. Since we are spread literally all over the world, our support for your telling the truth about him must be virtual, but you have it none the less.
For any law enforcement types who might read these comments, this man fits the pattern which we have observed with more than a few men who lie about their military service – they always are involved in other criminal behavior and those who spend time around children are pedophiles. So, please give this man, and any other guys claiming military accolades which they have not earned, a very close look.
But remember kids, Stolen Valor is a “victimless crime”.

Well done! April, I am so glad you posted about your experiences. I know that this has been a long journey and has not been easy for you! You are one of the strongest people I know. I adore you and am so glad to be able to call you my friend. Your commitment to exposing Terry and helping keep him away from children is extraordinary. It takes people like you to make changes happen. I am truly sorry for all that has happened to you, I know it has been a nightmare. I hope that your story may help even more victims come forth to expose him for the evil and vile person he is. I hope that it serves as a warning for others who may encounter him.
Has anyone been in contact with channel 25, since it was an interview which aired with him and his buddy, Billy May, which first prompted contact with these fine folks? A retraction and apology would be in order. Perhaps some of the fine men who have posted here could arrange such an event.

If you have read about mr. Farmer at the beginning of this post, you will read all about what he told the interviewer, about his horrific experiences in Vietnam, which in reality never happened. Did channel 25 not check him out before airing that big bunch of BS? It doesn’t take much looking to discover that he is very unsavory character, child abuser, etc. a retraction of the interview, and perhaps run his real story, along with an apology to the men and women he has harmed, and those who truly have served and experienced the real versions of his made up lies.

I could not agree more. An apology is in order. The news station should be notified and be obligated (in my opinion) to run his first interview followed up by the truth and an apology. He’s a fraud, and at the very least he should be exposed for his lies about being in combat and PTSD. That’s a slap in the face for any man or woman serving, or that has ever served and been through it! He owes an apology to every man and woman who actually has fought for our country! In addition, he owes apologies to several others who have been violated by him.
First, I need to issue a correction to my original post. I found the link to this blog article on January 2, 2013 and not a year and a half ago. I stumbled across the article by searching for “Terry Lee Farmer”, using the Google search engine.
Second, all of the comments on this thread are so inspiring. I had always hoped that Terry’s violence ended when him and my mother divorced, but as we see, that was not the case. I agree an apology is in order, but not to me. Terry misled schools, newspapers, TV new stations, children, and the Marine Corps League. He has accepted donations on behalf of an organization that claims to be associated with a Marine Corps League that he is not a member of (https://www.facebook.com/groups/216155848413866/). He has harassed schools for improper maintenance of their flags, and while his argument was valid, his approach was that of a bully. If anyone deserves an apology, those involved in the above organizations do.
Karma has always proven a harsh mistress, she sometimes takes longer to find her way than we like but those who owe a large karmic debt almost always end up paying dearly….
April I am glad to see you are tough and determined in your efforts to keep this turd out of schools. The Terry Lee Farmer ‘s of the world need the constant light of shame upon them in order for them to be prevented from profiting through their lies. He will pay for his misdeeds in this life and the next, you my dear have no such worries Karma owes you and in my experience that often pays out rather nicely as well often when least expected.

April, I am so sorry that you were a victim of Terry’s. I am Angie’s Mom and I only hope that Terry never sexually abused her, but I’ll never know. She was so emotionally scarred by him and she would always beg women he was involved with not to marry or get into a relationship with him. On the other hand I had given up fighting “the system” long ago after we got divorced. I couldn’t ever get anyone to listen to me when I tried to tell them what he had done and was doing. I was also threatened and stalked but finally ended by horrific ordeal with him once I took control of my life and let him know I had a gun. He only prayed upon women when he perceived them as being weak. If you ever need any additional proof to the extent of his violence I have it documented. Feel free to contact me. I no longer care if Terry is aware of what I have to say about him; he no longer scares me and I have finally found my voice. It’s unfortunate that six years ago Angie was killed in an auto accident, he even tried being a bully at the hospital when she was in a coma but the doctors saw right through his farce. I told him at that time he was 35 years too late to start acting like a concerned loving father which he never had been in the past. He is a sick old man and will die a sick old man. I’ve always said what goes around comes around and now he is finally being seen for who and what he is. So, Terry Lee Farmer called last night and tried to tell me that the reporter got the story wrong, that he was talking about his brother who was in Vietnam. That seems to be the excuse d’jour. I’ve had more than one person tell me that Terry Lee Farmer has blamed his bad behavior over the years on his non-existent Vietnam experience. He has had the TV station pull down their story almost a year after we posted this and years after the story was posted. So it stays.
Lying to cover discovered lies? Yeah, that’s a novel approach. What Farmer ought to do is fall on his sword, so to speak. Since he publically professed his lies, he needs to publically confess his lies. It won’t make it all okay but it will, at least, restore to him some modicum of dignity. Who wants to leave this mortal coil with a lie on his lips?

rb325th: Yes, we can hope that at lest some of his bad behavior can still be charged. Perhaps among some of the children. Very often, assault/abuse statutes of limitation do not start counting down until the child reaches the age of majority.
