Joe can’t talk about his religion without a lot of Uhs and Ums. He was talking a mile a minute earlier.
Joe is stumpling
What’s this “my friend” crap? Ryan isn’t your friend, Joe…
stumbling….sorry I have been playing the drinking game.
The only thing better than this debate would be Joe vs. Antonin Scalia.
No agenda? Sotomayor and Kagan…no agenda?
Uh-oh, the big ‘A’ question (abortion).
Fo’ sho’ the mainstream media is going to focus incessantly on Ryan’s views on abortion. Scare tactics and fear mongering sure to follow.
Only sacred obligation? Then why are they cutting vets’ and military’s benefits?
Joe answer the damn question!!
I feel like Ryan has missed a whole bunch of opportunities to smack Biden down but has failed to, Old Joe his lying misleading self has set the tone on this one.
God help us all.
I will say that Ryan has drank more water in the last 90 minutes than I did in 18 hours kicking in doors in baghdad.
47% for the third time! Bingo! ‘F’ for the test.
And upholding and defending the Constitution isn’t a “sacred obligation”, too?
There is no plan. There are only speeches.
Twist, you weren’t debating Joe Biden at close quarters.
Like Washington, all Ryan had to do was not lose. He’s been successful. Not a brilliant performance and not a smack down. But he was mature, controlled, responsible, and factual. Joe is the same arrogant, condescending, snarky, and smirking that we know and love.
Joe’s smirk is back.
“my record stands for itself” in other words “I’m a bumbling idiot”
Joe can bring uniquely bad hairplugs to government.
Level the playing field? No, they have not.
Joe is back to talking about Scranton-talk about the diner again Joe!
You don’t level the playing field by interfering and running the country into the ground financially. And don’t you ever ‘honey’ me, you old goat.
I think Paul hit it out of the park in his closing statement.
Ryan did a pretty good job, but then, Patrick Star of Sponge Bob fame would do well against Joe.
Assessment: Joe Biden comes off as a patronizing, smirking, smart-ass ‘old boy’ who thinks he’s got it in his pocket.
For a first-timer, Ryan did just fine. Collected, cool-headed, had his act together.
Ryan on points, but close to a knockout when he explained to Joe about calendars.
I agree with Rik. Not a powerful and outstanding moment for Ryan like Romney’s, but good enough.
Unfortunately I think the mainstream media is going to focus on the abortion issue to demonize the Romney/Ryan ticket.
Obama/Biden 0-2
Romney/Ryan 2-0
I’ll be honest: Joe was a smirking, condescending and smug bastard. But he actually did a better job at holding his own in the debate compared to his boss.
Ryan, however, maintained his dignity and managed to get his point across without interrupting.
Re: abortion issue. Why don’t we talk about vasectomies instead?
WH is reporting IRT to smiling and smirking “he is a happy warrior for the middle class”
What did you expect?
Warrior for the middle class? Joe–when you’ve spent the last 40 years chugging the Kool-Aid inside the Beltway, you’ve pretty much lost any claim to speak for anyone but yourself and the special interests whose knobs you’ve been gobbling since I was in 2nd grade.
I m Going to summarize what I saw tonight: with in 10 min the current Admin threw the Intel community under the buss for their blaming U-Tube…. The moderator let the VP and even join in the attack on asking for specifics, yet the only specifics coming from the VP was in the stats he used in his scare tactics. While I will admit the Joint Chiefs may have agreed with the current CINC’s plans for A-stan, but that’s their job. To follow and implement the orders and policy of the CINC. What the VP didn’t answer and the moderator let him get away with not answering is why was the requests of the Cmndrs on the ground not fulfilled. Then again looking at the Libya situation granting requests for more security has become common place with the current administration… Losts more I would like to say but am not going to cross that line. I give the win to Ryan based on his closing, but I will concede it could be a toss up if you fall for the scare tactics.

I’m glad the”debate” is finally over. My own damn fault for watching. Raised my blood pressure watching Biden smirk & sneer & be a condescending lying ass. I’m thankful we still have a TV set, there were so many times I wanted to reach thru the screen and bitch slap the shit out of senile embarrassing uncle Joe. If Ryan had turned around and done the bitch slapping for me, I would have cried and cheered for utter joy. The election would have been won right that instant. That, or Civil War II would have started.
I also want to add the Ryan after shaking the VP’s hand went straight over and offered his hand to the moderator, the VP on the other hand only did so after a long pause and realizing this if he didn’t it would look bad. One appeared to do it out of manners and class, while the other as a political calculation. Which was which I’ll let other’s judge.

CNN insta poll gave slight edge to Ryan 48 to 44 over Biteme +/- 5 points. CBS gave it to Biteme 50 to 19. Ryan did what he needed – maintained the momentum from last week and crossed threshhold of credibility to take over as POTUS if he had to.
There’s one last thing. I found Biden’s patronizing smile and attitude really uncalled for. It’s the same smirk that Bo had in the first debate, and it’s as creepy as this grimace that passes for a smile that appears on Bo’s face now when he’s at a campaign ‘meet & speak’. The ‘I’m superior’ doesn’t come off well if it’s coming from someone who wants to be taken seriously. It comes off as smug and arrogant.
I did not see any of that in Ryan or Romney.
See-BS didn’t give shit to Bite-me. The moonbats took a page out of the Ron Paul book and spammed the poll.
Yeah, Gore’s rolling of his eyes during his debate w/ Dubya was talked about for days, and probably cost him the 2000 election. Biden’s antics might have legs and could cause serious headaches for the campaign – twitterverse is exploding about Biteme’s incessant smirking and smiling…
SNL and late night comics are saying “thank you Joe Biden” – fresh material !!!
Couldn’t watch the debate but I read the transcript, it had to be as painful to watch as it was to read with crazy Joe’s incomplete, rambling responses and incessant interruptions… I wouldn’t be surprised if Biteme was drunk.
@90, I wouldn’t be surprised if Joe didn’t carry about a pint of whiskey in those dentures. Maybe he soaks them overnight, before he pops them in.
Shocking just shocking NBC poll…Ryan 56 to 36 for Biteme. I gotta think VP’s odd demeanor ( when isn’t Biden odd ?) played a big part in this poll – visuals are so huge.
Even lefties tired of Biteme’s act and are piling on the VP.

Jobs is the CG.
Ryan’s closing was good.
Need to keep hammering economy.
I thought about watching this, but I figured I could get a good rundown here and elsewhere of what went down.
Instead I watched Thursday Night Football.
Better for my blood pressure. 🙂
About that throat punch…
“Knock-knock”
“Who’s th––”
“JOE BIDEN! JOE BIDEN!!”
@52, I actually saw an interview with Ryan a day or two ago where he said he and Biden are friends on a personal level….that said I agree that in that context it was unprofessional and condescending.
Was anyone else SCREAMING at Ryan to hammer Biden on the green-on-blue attacks when he kept going on about how the withdrawal of some of the surge troops wasn’t leaving those remaining in any greater danger, because those who were pulled out were replaced by ANSF??
I nearly forgot about this point: Biden said he voted against sending troops to Iraq and Afghanistan, when in fact, he voted FOR both of those deployments.
