Gregory Charles Banks; the phony just passing through
So one of our readers is a Mason up in Connecticut and this dude passes through his lodge on the way back from his combat assignments. Sometimes he’s in ACUs, other times he’s wearing his blues, like in the picture above. Of course, he’s Special Forces (isn’t everyone, these days) and in addition to his duties as an Army officer, he’s also a counselor with two offices. The man is a freakin’ machine.
Well, he didn’t turn up in any of my databases, but, you know, he’s probably so secret squirrel that he wouldn’t, but CID can’t find him either. Nor can NPRC;
We’re told that his lodge just threw him a big celebration for his recent award of the Bronze Star Medal so obviously, he loves attention – so here is all of the attention you could ever want, Greg-baby. It looks to me like he stole a midget’s jacket.

I emailed these pictures to our counselor friend, Greg Charles Banks and asked if these are not him in the photos, and he hasn’t answered back. I guess he’s going with “identity theft” as an explanation.
OK, I just got an email from him and he admits that this is him in this picture taken at the lodge not wearing the uniform;

See, being a hero is based upon deeds done. Being honorable is related to what one is willing to do. We who served in the military wrote that proverbial blank check, payable to the American people.
We are not heroes just because we offered the blank check. Most of us did nothing even approximating heroism. Honorable? You bet. Necessary? Most often. Sacrificial? Almost all of us did something which cost us at least a little sleep, if not an arm or other physical disability.
Those who pretend to be what we are, lived as we have, or earned the respect we have earned are liars and thieves. They also have some sort of mental defect or are missing a gene which controls acceptable behavior. Whatever causes it, they select to behave dishonorably.

Oathkeeper. An LLC, like a corporation, does not protect its officers from personal liability for fraud, misrepresentation, and other torts. It is no way an absolute protection from personal liability outside of debts accrued by the company in the normal course of its proper business. What’s more, when an LLC’s business becomes intermingled with the personal business of its officers, it may lose its protections altogether.

NHSparky: if the CT and/or MA cert boards pull his license, that will be substantially more difficult. I’m pretty sure those kinds of records are public records in virtually every jurisdiction in the US. And there’s also this thing called “reciprocity” that comes into play, which will likely make it very difficult for him to reestablish a practice elsewhere.
He may still be a low-life and may well try another scam elsewhere. But this one could end up costing him bigtime.

Hondo, all the details may or may not be part of the public record. But, would expect that most jurisdictions would ask all applicants to sign a waiver allowing access to all records of other jurisdictions. Other professional fields do that.
Of course, lying liars have been known to make fraudulent applications, use forged documents and such. However this clown selects to play it, his life has become infinitely more difficult. Bless his heart.

Generally speaking, it would be unethical to ask for a patient to do anything for you outside of the normal patient/provider relationship. I have received offers for special prices at not less than three jewelry stores, about half a dozen car dealerships, free meals, fishing and hunting trips, and a slew of other things, and I am VERY quick to tell them that their statement of appreciation is more than I need, and ALL that I am allowed to take.
Asking someone that you counseled to act on your behalf as a “PR” representative, would be something that would raise eyebrows at any ethics committee hearing. Now if they were dating…… the eyebrows go back down, and they get to typing up things with their general counsel.
