Our friends at Guardian of Valor send us their exhaustive work on Jeffrey Puritis. He was the National President of Warrior Brotherhood Veterans Motorcycle Association (WBVMA) and a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. According to Bulldog, Puritis had misused some of the funds at his MC and folks began questioning his war stories, so they went to Bulldog to get the Low Down on him. This is what he was claiming;
He backed it up with some of Bob Neener‘s certificates that he bought back before Neener did hard prison time for his forgeries;
That’s how he got into the MOPH, according to their records. So here are his real records;
It looks like he was a supply clerk in Vietnam and now he feels guilty that he didn’t get shot. It’s easier to buy a certificate than to get shot, I suppose. The MOPH showed Puritis the door. You might remember my experiment a few weeks ago where I purchased a certificate that I’d served in Vietnam when I was 14 years old with no documentation. It’s a jungle out there.

The entire bottom row of his ribbon rack isn’t in his records, either. The inboard one appears to be the Navy OSR, which I don’t think has been made retroactive to cover service in Vietnam. The other two – the RVN Gallantry Cross (unit) and RVN VCM – probably are legit, even if not in his records at NRPC.

When so many legit Veterans take someone asking them to verify their service as a slap in the face these VO organizations no matter how honorable will always be full of Stolen Valor.
When the President of an organization with a mission that is as honorable as this one can not seem to weed out fraud at its highest levels until years and years go by, I do not believe there is hope for any of them.
I hate to had this organization and its leadership to my list of GULLIBLE PHUKS but they leave me no choice. Shame on their ass.
The leadership that fell for This guy’s phony records are long out of the club. Its likely he changed the records and implemented the theft of valor once he managed to work his way into leadership in the club.
You can’t hold the club responsible for his deceit and now he has been forceably removed from the club which is what started the scrutiny into his background.

My father-in-law was a Chinook mechanic in Vietnam and was very proud of that never claiming anything different. His one war story was about a couple rounds that came his way while on the flight line that missed by a mile.
hah – same thing for me in Iraq. I flew into Al-Asad, and seven months later I flew out of there. Never left the wire, only a couple of times was close enough to an IDF attack to see actual explosions. We didn’t fight anyone, but we kept the airfield running 100% during our time there so I’m plenty proud that we did our job well.
When I see someone wearing all of their ribbons and medals along with rank and patches like this it automatically raises the BS flag in me and I just walk away….this turd is just another illustration of why.

His Road Name in the Warrior Brotherhood was “Rocky” and he lived in Palm Coast of Florida. Joined his club in 2013. Heard his bullshit stories and did some research on him. It turned out that he was always asking the MC members themselves for money all the time to buy some property in Michigan and make it a Warrior Brotherhood National Clubhouse. But, once I found out he was planning to actually live in the place (for free of course), we all turned in our colors.
Some of the members of that club were out of work losers, looking for disability of some sort. The members treated him like a god and did not stand for any criticism of him. I questioned the club’s leadership as a “bunch of dumbasses”, which they took hard and wanted to kick us out of the club. We all left instead.

To all the Gents, ThatOneGuy, Stoney, WBFFWB; I knew this day would come. It is a sad state of affairs but, a necessary evil. To tell you the truth, since this news has came out, I have been sick to my stomach. I feel no glee, no happiness, no satisfaction. With this news, I don’t revel in Rocky’s demise, I hurt for my Brothers that were in this club and those that are still there. When I left the club, it was for many reasons, the main reason was me.You might believe one of the reasons was Rocky and maybe it was, to a point. I left because I was losing it at a rapid pace. I was spiralling out of control. My entire life was spiralling out of control. I didn’t realize how bad it was until I started to get more irrational, more antisocial and more violent. My thoughts after some major events during my crash were that what I did and what I said were justified and reasonable. That’s when I knew I had a problem. I did leave the club and I did leave my club Brothers but, I did not leave my Brothers and they did not leave me. You see, there is a difference between club Brothers and true Brothers. For this I am grateful. Much time has passed since those days. Now the WB is better, stronger, and has a brighter future. And the main reason for this is Brotherhood. However, if you were negligent with posting entries to the aircraft maintenance logs, or posted entries that were unintelligible and illiterate – and in your case, I can believe that they WERE illiterate – then you were finally sent packing off to guard duty.

I went over to MEF HQ, hopped in the van, we swung by General Looney’s house to pick him up, then headed over to New River to fly down to Jacksonville FL. Kind of ironic that we left Jacksonville to fly to Jacksonville, then flew back to Jacksonville later that day. Anyway, when we picked up the General, his aide, a 1st Lt, was standing there. The General gave him very explicit instructions to ensure the smooth operation of the base. “Be sure to walk my dog!” Four years of college, a Marine Corps commission, and he gets to walk the General’s dog. Maybe Purtis was in charge of picking up the dog excrement of the Admiral’s dog.
In my era, a 2 Star was authorized an O3 and an O2 as Officer Aide de Camps and 2 Enlisted orderlies, one of whom was a cook. No body guards.

From reading his unit’s history, it seems the MABS-12,MAG-12,1st MAW pulled out of Chu Lai in February 1970 and went to Japan. Starting in April 1971 a couple of the Squadrons returned to Bien Hoa.
If I’m reading his record of assignments correctly, he was with the the main unit in Japan as a Crash Crewman and on 11 Dec 71 went TAD to Bien Hoa as a Log Clerk.
He then stayed in Bien Hoa as a Log Clerk until 27 Mar 72 when he returned to CONUS.
That’s a grand total of 106 days, or three months and 16 days of actually having boots on ground in Vietnam.
Perhaps that’s why there is no listing on the FOIA of having been awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He didn’t have the required six months/180 consecutive days in country and why he only has one service star on the Vietnam Service Medal.

I’m just guessing, of course, but while it seems odd that ol’ Pruritis Ani has nothing that NPRC could relay after the 1/31/73 date, he was discharged at Quantico, not in Rhode Island. You usually were discharged at your last duty station back then. If you go back and look at bernitwit’s stuff, he was sent to the IRR when the Yorktown docked at her final destination, which was Philadelphia in 1970.
So whatever PIA here did between Newport, RI and Quantico may be missing, but we can speculate, can’t we? After all, that whole seekrit squirrel thing is based on the Shadow Company baloney. Personally, I think he was a complete fuckup at the end and got sent down to Quantico to mark time until his enlistment ended.
I’ll go one step further – my guess is he screwed the pooch with the squadron in Japan/Vietnam as a supply guy (maybe had some issues with inventory control???), sent to Newport, RI as a gate guard and screwed that up and was TR by SR (transferred by service record) to Quantico for the last few months of his enlistment. Getting to look at his PRO/CON marks would give a clue about his behavior in the Corps.
HMX-1 (The Presidents Helo) is at Quantico.
IIRC there is also some testing, as well as a unit of Helos that support The Basic School.
Cock-face was not awarded the Presidental Guard Badge, so he wasn’t with HMX-1.

We could clear things up if you download an SF 180, fill it out as completely and as accurately as possible, sign it, scan it, and email it to the administrators for this website. In block one, mark the boxes for the following options:
DD form 214 or equivalent
All documents in Official Military Personnel File (OMPF).
With your completed, signed, SF 180, with the above two options chosen, the administrators can mail it in and get your additional information. Once they receive that information, if it substantiates your claims, they will be fair and annotate such. You’ll also find some of these additional information being posted.
If you strongly believe in what you’re telling us here, you would not be afraid to do what I suggest you do here. Here’s a link so that you can download, complete, print out, and sign the form:

I know i’m a day late coming in to this, but why would he need to file a SF 180 on himself? If his claims are legit, he should have all the prove right in front of him,,I.E. 214, orders, certificates, citations. Don’t make much sense to me. But what do I know, I only served honorably.
Chris: not everyone keeps all their old military records and paperwork. The SF180 would allow him to get a copy of whatever NPRC had in their records.
It could also at least theoretically be a smokescreen to hide and/or lend credibility to a future intro of forged docs; a play for time; or some other bogus reason.

That’s a problem, he criticizes the documentation that’s already been posted here. However, he has done nothing to provide legitimate documentation proving his argument “right” and the above documentations “wrong.”
If what he claims were true, and he has the documentations, he already would have presented them. So far, all he has done was advance BS. All he would’ve had to do was scan and forward legitimate documentations in his possession, to the administrators of the site. He has not announced whether he has done that or not.
This means that there’s an excellent chance that he does not have the documentation, with him, to prove his stories. The next step would be for him to submit an SF 180, via the administrators here. All you would have to do is complete the form, as I instructed him, then scan it and send it to the administrators here.
I don’t know if he has done that or not. But, if what he says is true, he would be willing to do that.

Puritis’ military records show no NMCM. His records show no BSM w/V device. The show no Purple Heart – let alone the multiple awards of same he’s claiming. And they show no CAR.
In short, Puritis’ records say he a troop who served in Vietnam – but who never was decorated for heroic deeds, was never wounded, and never received the CAR for personal participation in ground combat. He went, did his time, and came home safe and sound.
Then later in life, he decided that wasn’t enough. So he p!ssed all over his own honorable service by lying about what he’d done. That’s sad – but it’s also quite deserving of scorn.
With the exception of the NMCM, I’ve known people who actually earned the awards Puritis falsely claims to have received (or the Army equivalent, the CIB). They were legit; Puritis’ records say he is a damn liar. Regardless of his current health issues, for being a damn liar he can go fornicate himself for all I care.
None of which excuses the lying for years he’s done.

Assuming temporarily that the picture is legit – and I’m not conceding that it is, just making that assumption for argument – the picture alone proves little, Jeffery-boi. Specifically, it does NOT prove that you are entitled to wear USMC Sergeant’s stripes today.
There are any number of ways that an individual can lose the rank of Sergeant. Some involve getting “busted” down to E1; others only take one stripe.
Your military records on-file at NPRC clearly indicate that you were discharged as a Corporal. That’s documented by the NA 13164 above, which was provided in response to a FOIA request submitted concerning your military service. It provides the publicly-releasable information from your military service, including your rank at discharge. It shows your rank at discharge to be “Corporal”.
Unless you can provide some proof otherwise, that’s exactly what you were when you left the USMC – a Corporal, not a Sergeant. If you ever wore Sergeants stripes, it looks like you managed to step on your johnson and lose them before leaving active duty.
Holding a patch in front of someone doesn’t prove a promotion took place. If I could arrange to have someone hold a star in front of me, that wouldn’t make me a general.
I can think of a possible caption for that picture. “See how that looks, Corporal? Keep working and keep your nose clean, and someday this could be yours.”
