Someone sent us a link to Breitbart which reports that this ditz, Brook Baldwin blamed military veterans for the violence last night in Baltimore because…reasons!
[S]he said of young military veterans who become police officers, “I love our nation’s veterans, but some of them are coming back from war, they don’t know the communities, and they are ready to do battle.”
The context was a discussion about increased training and retraining for the Baltimore police.
Yeah, she loves veterans. Most of the veterans I know are tired of the battle. That’s why they come home. It’s just CNN and their morons trying to take whacks at veterans and the troops because folks who sacrifice for military service enjoy so much support in the country. But the stank ass hippies don’t like the fact that they can’t spit on veterans any more.
She should go to Panama City where she can find some support among the Spring Breaker frat brothers.
I’d point out to the little idiot that 15 police officers were injured last night in Baltimore, the mayor and the governor decided that it was uniformed National Guardsmen who could solve the problem that the actual culpable parties had created. Ditz.

I’m an instructor who trains public safety personnel, to include federal, state and local law enforcement folks. Been doing it for over 15 years. Unlike days past, when lots of cops were veterans, those numbers have dwindled. While there are some veterans in the ranks, they are a very small minority. So, Ms. Baldwin should do a little research and fact checking, before spewing her cop hating bullshit.
And in the spirit of “damning with faint praise”, veteran hating as well.
You are correct. There are more buffs as compared to Vets in the ranks. One reason, Vets either do very well or leave quickly without any drama!
You will rarely see numbers above 30 %.
Vets generally can do and do better after a short stint in LE due to experiece, skills and education.
I am waiting for Cummings to announce that any federal LE applicant will have 10 points added to his score if he never served in the military, 5 points deducted from his score if he served in a non-combat theatre and 10 points deducted if he served in a combat theatre. I expect that it will be called the Non-Veteran Law Enforcement Applicant Preference Act.
He would also stipulate at least 10 points off if you are a white, straight male.
Nah see you either need to reorder those words so the acronym spells something clever or do what the gubmint seems to do and come up with a cool relevant sounding word and then turn it into a relevent ‘official’ sounding acronym.

Would someone care to see how many veterans are currently employed by Baltimore Police Dept? And at when and what rates have they entered the Baltimore Police Force? In my experience as a volunteer with the Minneapolis Police from 1998 to 2002, I saw a number of sworn police officers willing to act like “cowboys” as far as effecting arrests of individuals. I did not encounter racism at the time. I should note that Minneapolis PD has a large amount of diversity on its force, including a number of the rank and file of LGBT, as well as a blend of ethnicities other than European white. These people were not necessarily Armed Forces veterans.

Cops, whether they are veterans or not, should always be ready for battle.
