Thomas Roger Johnson; the “Super Marine”
You might remember a few months ago the story of our buddy Bob Massie at MyServicePride who occasionally advertises with us for his items that you can buy with your military awards on them. This Thomas Robert Johnson fellow tried to order a coffee mug or something with the above “rack” and Bob sent the dude to our other buddy, Taco Bell, a retired Marine Corps pilot. Taco contacted Johnson by phone and you can hear the phone calls at this link. Johnson claimed that he was a full bird Marine Colonel with 31 years of service, and that he’d been a POW in Vietnam. Well, it turns out that his records contain a lot of admirable stuff and this may be the worst case of needless embellishment known to man;
He had participated in the evacuations of Americans from Saigon and Phnom Penh, Cambodia at the end of our involvement in Southeast Asia and he earned his Combat Action Ribbon, but he didn’t spend 31 years in the Corps. He had 8 years in and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. His “rack” contains a lot admirable stuff, but no where near the amount of stuff he wanted to decorate his car dealer office;
Oh, yeah, he sells cars, but not according to his LinkedIn Profile, so he hasn’t learned his lesson about lying yet.
Category: Phony soldiers
He bought it for his daughter, who is in the process of writing a book.
YGBSM.
Honorable service tarnished by lies and bullshit. Sheesh.
I know, right? These guys never cease to amaze me with their brazen lies and self-promotion. Why they believe that no one will call them on it is beyond me.
And as we’ve often said here, this is usually just the tip of the iceberg. There’s usually a LOT of other stuff going on too, mostly illegal/immoral/unethical/etc.
There was a time, some years back, when I had a twinge of sympathy for these clowns, figuring it must be just a call for help. I’ve learned better and now I don’t feel a damn thing about how hurt they might be when called out on their lies.
My give-a-damn’s busted.
It’s because no one has ever called them out. So, the lies simply continue and the associated criminal activities often start. Look at my case. No one ever questioned how a siege could start on a wednesday in a country where a visa is required for every trip and I could have have a visa in hand by the next day and arrive before the siege ended on a Friday. No one said, “could this even be possible?”…not even experienced cops that deal with timelines every day. No one ever asked how I could train with the most secretive Russian units (me, a basic training dropout) and run around bragging about having KGB guys over to my house for dinner while I was involved in legal cases in Colorado. No one associated the commercial one week adventure camps that my company ran with the tactical experience I was claiming. Never mind the legalities, how could I spend 18 years in a Russian uniform as I claimed when I had a series of businesses in Colorado over the same period? No one ever asked about how my seminar bios changed over time or where all of the specialized tactical training and tradecraft came from. In 2006/2007, I was clearly inferring that I was military – no one checked or asked. All of my claims were there on the internet. Similar questions exist about Dave Grossman who I also believe will be exposed for what he is in time. While Grossman benefits from an actual military career, there are a number of experiences in which in he clearly embellishes and others which are outright fabrications. Shouldn’t we expect more from a field grade who taught at West Point? There is a lot of information forthcoming on Grossman. Stay tuned. Cops who want to consider themselves warriors without actually doing what it takes to earn the title love fakers. We act like con men playing against their desires/fears and, like the best con men, our marks refuse to believe that they’ve been taken. Experienced senior police officers cover for us because, even when… Read more »
Well said. I was telling someone just yesterday how SV is usually the most obvious symptom of a sick and often criminal mind – not the main disease itself.
My three rows of ribbons were obtained honorably over 24 years of service. Nothing higher than an ARCOM, but each one was earned. I feel no need to advertise.
Guys like this have some real psychological problems.
I think about the same for me. Served 22, there every day, did my job, retired 16 years ago. Looking back I sometimes wish I had maybe gone to jump school but I didn’t want to go to a jump unit. I chose Air Assault, go and return to your same unit. Most medics just see wings, ok with me. I can think a SGM that was at my first assignment for helping me make a decision. I was in an Air Defense unit, HAWK missiles. I joined because at the time they had a great electronics school in El Paso. We were having an inspection. I had a chance to talk to the SGM, big deal for an E-3. I asked him in case of war what happens if we run out of missiles? He said proudly, Why we become Infantry. That stuck in my mine. So when I decided to reenlist, I chose the medical equipment repair course. Great electronic training and they never, ever, run out of sick people.
OK, Navy/USMC vets – his 2nd to last and next to last assignments show acronyms “IHCA” and “HOSP LBRACH”. Can anyone translate those?
But I’ll give this one credit. The 4 “campaign stars” on the GWOTSM were a new one. (smile)
IHCA stands for “In Hands Of Civil Authorities.” Dude got arrested off base for something.
HOSP LBRACH stands for one of the Navy Hospital Branches, probably Lemoore.
Actually AW1, it reads HOSP LBEACH – Naval Hospital Long Beach (nearest Naval Hospital to MCAS El Toro at the time). Also, he was IHCA twice – once before going on leave and again after he was on leave.
Best guess is he had a problem with either alcohol or drugs an was sent to Long Beach for evaluation (I remember the hospital having a Alcohol Rehab program at the time). He was probably ADSEP from the Corps because they were tired of picking him up from the local authorities and dealing with his “issues”.
HMCS(FMF): thanks. I was wondering if it might something like the scenario you describe, given the IHCA line immediately preceding the HOSP line. Makes perfect sense.
As for the misread of LBEACH: blame a pair of aging eyes for that. (smile)
HMCS is correct Hondo. I was station at NAS Miramar and left on 19Dec80. Oddly I was there for the Drug and Alcohol Counselors School. I worked at Long Beach and San Diego as part of that course. There are two lines that seem to be blurred out right at the point where he would have been sent to rehab for 6 weeks. My guess would be the same as HMCS, rehab.
Dave – I just looked again at Johnson’s entry to NH Long Beach – he was only there from 19NOV80 to 01DEC80. Not long enough to complete the 6 week course.
Bet you that the counselors there thought Johnson was not being serious about his problem and discharged him from treatment, and recommended to the Corps that he be separated.
I noticed that too. The two lines that are smudged out is not that uncommon. He would have been held at a NRMC until he could get into a rehab center. Two weeks was common. People would remove the TAD to NAVDRGALC REHAB from their records and even a few commands did it upon their return. Funny that he was there the same time I was though. Curious to see an old pic. Who knows.
Thanks, AW1 Tim. Thought IHCA might mean something like that, but wasn’t sure. Ditto the HOSP entry.
When not sure, I’ve always found it’s best to ask vice remain ignorant.
Heck, Hondo. That takes all the fun out of it.
Example: What I came up with for the HOSP one was:
Hospitality – Lefthanded, backside, reach-around.
And how about the three BSS on the AFEM. One AFEM for each accountable 24 hour period in combat?
The AFEMs is actually plausible. We’ve had several qualifying operations since Vietnam.
One of his may be legit. If I recall correctly, both Frequent Wind and Eagle Pull were awarded the AFEM. Later, participants of
eachFrequent Wind were allowed to exchange the AFEM for the VSM if they desired to do so.Hondo, I know. Guess I should have put the /sarc alert on it. Thank you. I was hoping that maybe he was going to claim to be part of E-1 over 14 Briggs’ guard force too.
Can any one explaine how you can earn more than one GWOT medal? I mean come on he’s not even trying, sad really, another honorable service tarnished by the need embelish.
Maybe i have become “tarnished” but it seems the guys (and gals) with the real accolades don’t brag about it.
Just low self-esteem i guess.
You can only have one, No stars are authorized for that or the GWOTESM.
For completeness: he obviously isn’t a Vietnam POW:
http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/vietnam/reports/documents/pmsea_html_j.htm
He’s also not on the POW Network comprehensive list of civilian/military POWs/detained persons for the Gulf War:
http://www.pownetwork.org/gulf/index_gulf_war.htm
And he’s not a GWOT POW, either. Not going to even address that claim, since it’s too ludicrous to be believed anyway.
Bottom line: IMO, just another garden-variety LSoS with delusions of grandeur who had to f**k up a perfectly honorable career by claiming stuff he never did or earned.
Now, WhO eLsE dO wE kNoW wHo MiGhT hAvE dOnE sOmEtHiNg LiKe ThAt?
OOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!! Mistah Kottah!!! Mistah Kottah!!! Oooooohhhh!!!!
There are more stars on the fruit salad abortion than in half the Milky Way.
8 years flushed down the shitter with his bullshit…..and how did he EVER think he would get away with it??
Some Service member, retiree, or other vet was bound to see that eventually….how can a vet be so ignorant?
But, as we have seen…..its no barrier to “da stoopids”
How does the family of these people go along with this bullshit. My life works like this: In the presence of my daughter I make the statement “I am a full bird Marine Colonel with 31 years of service”, my daughter replies, “No you are not, you are full of shit Dad”, I defend myself with, “But I have this coffee cup here to prove it”, she responds, “Dad, those aren’t your ribbons now suck it up or you are going to the home”.
I could never get away with this shit, my mother, father, sisters, brother, wife, daughter, sons, friends, and a horde of people that cant stand my ass would throw me under the bus in a heartbeat.
I’m with you Dave… And I share the same fate…
WHHHHYYYYYYYY?????
I earned seven ribbons in nine years of service, one of which a State award (joys of being supply in an Infantry National Guard Battalion). But I am proud of what I earned and wouldn’t dishonor myself by claiming more!
Nothing wrong with him being honest about his career, BUT NOOOO, he just HAD TO mash a dogshit pie in his own face by doing this!!
Shit, he’s what, just one or two short of ‘ol “Soup Sandwich”?
Just off the top of my head: 13 fuckin’ Combat Action Ribbons?! So he’s been in since when, the Boxer Rebellion?
12 years, 11 medals/ribbons. And for Navy, that’s pretty good. So why did this clown think he could gat away with it?
For the love of God, why?
Water dogs and Marines that were onboard the USS Hancock CV19 were authorized awards in 2003 for their WESTPAC Op’s during that time period as well. Click on USS Hancock name for more in case the link is not visible to you…
A company of Army MP’s were assembled from other companies/battalions and sent to Hunter Liggett/Camp Roberts for training with 7 ID & 7th Cavalry companies. Now, I understand why they were stood down and sent back to their commands. Heh.
For the love of shit why would you not just tell the truth? He has a perfectly good legitimate service record. I guess some things I will never understand.
0311…..
God, damn it!
There are some things that no number of face palms will correct.
I think Round Marine still has him beat for the most amount of crap stacked high.
Yeah, this guy didn’t put himself in for the Darby Queen campaign medal or build a muscle car from the ground up.
Clown.
my precious, I want those. He must be a real hero!
I know I’m repeating myself a lot today, but these are always the sad cases for me. I didn’t serve. I hold nothing but admiration for anyone who served honorably, no mayter what s/he did in the .mil, what rank attained, what medals earned. The vast majority of good Americans feel the same way. It makes me want to shake these guys and tell them, “DUDE. You don’t need the bling. You. Just. Don’t.”
My goodness it’s just a coffee cup, you award Nazis need to get over yourselves! He didn’t break any laws, and I wonder if Taco Bell goes through everyone’s 214 when they purchase items from him? It’s not like he’s going to the VA and making false claims clogging up the system for legitimate entitlements like most of you assholes do! You guys need to take up gardening or something, instead of trying to enforce your former ranks on everyone.
My Goodness sockpuppet, its just a matter of telling the truth and showing a bit of integrity and respect for those that actually earned the awards.
You need to get over your outlandish sense of entitlement and the need to be something you clearly are not….your words are the words of a true stolen valor apologist
You use that word “legitimate”…I do not think it means what you think it means.
And for the record?….My garden look great.
And I didn’t have to lie about it.
Fuck you. Put that in your coffee mug, and drink that down while you eat a bag of dicks.
Go fuck yourself, you worthless pile of dogshit. And eat a bag of dicks while you’re at it you fucktard. Motherfuckin’ sockpuppet.
coffee cup? It’d have to be the size of a freaking Big Gulp to fit all of that flair on it. I consider medals/awards/ribbons etc to be like “Pepsi Points”-Go places, do things get stuff. I’m at the point that I prefer a commerative t-shirt instead 😉
So people who wear a football jersey with a famous name or team deserves the same vetting process as ordering a coffee mug with some ribbons on it? You need to limit the amount of pesticides you put in garden, it’s making you argument stupid.
I meant to say “your argument look stupid” on the last sentence. So there’s no misunderstanding.
You just don’t get it do you? With your reference to Taco Bell, I assume that’s your place of employment and guess that’s the only uniform you’ve worn. Sports jerseys and military awards and decorations aren’t even a comparison. It goes beyond the coffee mug and I can bet you a dollar to a taco that he tells stories to back up his mug awards. I assume that you’d have no problem with me sporting a police badge on my shirt or a diploma from med school on my office wall. I’m neither a cop nor a doc – but I’ve stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before.
nbcguy54: no, Taco Bell is the persona of the guy who owns the blog where this tool was originally busted. There’s audio there of the tool making claims that he actually was awarded much if not all of the stuff on that display rack.
Kinda backs up my claim doesn’t it Hondo – “hey, let me tell how I won that medal shown on my high-speed mug…”
I just wish some peole would “get it”, but it ain’t going to happen. We tend to get all bent out of shape at the dude with 11 items in the “10 items or less” line, but see no issue when it comes to sporting unearned awards and decorations that others have literally died for.
Sometimes I just don’t understand…
Ya know, “Tom” – it’s obvious you didn’t listen to the audio at TB’s site. The guy there makes some very plain claims of being a former POW, having 8 PHs, etc . . . .
Those claims are patently false. And he is clearly claiming that he earned much if not all the stuff on that display rack.
By the way: your last name wouldn’t be “Johnson”, would it?
Well, Thomas Roger Johnson. Yes, we know that’s who you are. If the person wearing said jersey were proclaiming himself to be the person who’s name is on it? Yes. But it would be patently obvious that some overweight balding shithead isn’t a professional athlete. So your argument is as stupid as you are. Now stolen valor on the other hand has been proven over and over to be a symptom of greater wrong doings in far too many cases. I’ll wager it’s the same with you. It’s also a mater of honor and integrity, which you seem to lack.
What law did he break again? I know nobody on this site ever embellished an OER or NCOER for one of their own because they drank with them or they were the same skin color. It just never happens in the military, where CSMs are such honorable characters looking out for the wellbeing of their soldiers or officers fudging their own rewards for valor to get a promotion? There is no difference in the active duty asshole fudging his records and going through the proper channels getting the awards approved, than the used cars salesman embellishing his service. Notice my sarcasm in my writing?
Dude, WTF. All of my monthly fitness reports were on the up and up, and I will be the first to admit that a few of them were less than stellar, but at least I EARNED WHAT WAS WRITTEN IN THEM(for good or bad).
Since you are the one that cannot seem to grasp what stolen valor is, then I offer the simple statement of STFU. Jonn is giving you the PRIVILEGE of posting here.
Don’t you mean “What law did I break?”. You ain’t fooling anyone there Johnson. Now beat it, you, because you’re obviously too stupid to understand concepts like honor and integrity. Oh, and your misdirection and rationalizations aren’t going to get you very far here. I mean really, you’re going to go with the “Everybody else is going it” excuse? Just fucking pathetic.
All Hail Johnson, All Hail Johnson!! We peasants are not worthy of gazing on his awesome rack. Return to your gardening chores and thank the Allmighty Johnson for the air that we breathe. All Hail Johnson,All Hail Johnson!! So it is written,so it shall be done.
A football jersey??
Now you are grasping at straws and attempting to create a straw man argument….the two are not even remotely related…you fail at this station.
And comparing it to those with “fudged” OER/NCOER’s is just an excuse to justify another lie…..it does not qualify as a valid argument.
Not even a good try…..
Yep…..Misdirection, rationalization, ad hominem attack, straw man argument. Man, my high school English teacher would have put this clown in detention if he would have pulled this shit in a debate. Fuck this guy. I’m gonna pick it, pack it, fire it up and smoke me a bowl (of Captain Black) and chill for a while.
So, his lying about earning awards that he didn’t earn is because you believe that we lied about something?
Here’s a little news flash for you, Suzie. I didn’t get any “special favors.” I was a supply guy in an infantry battalion. Even though I was put in for numerous awards, I didn’t get any. I was on the E-5 list for a full year, with more points than almost everyone in the Battalion, but I was passed over and an Infantryman was sent to the -20 school to get a Supply NCO slot.
I didn’t even get a PH after getting blown the frak up because my battalion “lost the paperwork.” At least, that’s the story I was given. Shortly after my battalion re-deployed, I was transferred from the armory about fifteen minutes from my home to one that was close to three-and-a-half hours away. I put in for, and was granted a transfer to a support unit after that.
I didn’t get my 5’s until I transferred into a support unit that was not biased against non-Infantry. And, I know my old battalion was biased because I had a 1LT tell me to my face that I didn’t matter to the battalion because I was too much of a coward to go to 11-series training.
So, you tell me how he should be forgiven for claiming to have earned so much shit because you believe that I had it easy in my career.
Didn’t think so.
See when you didn’t serve you don’t really understand what it means when you Earn your medals/ribbons.
US NAVY Creed: I have chosen to serve in the United States Navy. America depends on my performance for her survival, and I accept the challenge to set my standards high, placing my country’s well-being above self-interest.I will be loyal to my country, its Constitution and laws, and to my shipmates.I will be honest in my personal and professional life and encourage my shipmates to do the same.I will, to the best of my ability, do the right thing for its own sake, and I am prepared to face pain or death in defense of my country.I will be a professional, wearing my uniform with pride and accepting responsibility for my actions.I will set excellence as my standard and always strive for ways to make me a better sailor and my crew a better crew.
AD1(AW) USN ret. YOU don’t know nothing about this!!
Most people learn around age 6 or 7 that the “everybody does it” excuse is lame, “Tom” – or should I say “Johnson”?
Grow up. Just grow the freak up.
And, by the way: if Johnson is getting commissions while selling cars, and if he’s using false claims concerning his military record to convince people to buy cars from him – yeah, that IS now against Federal law (18 USC 704b). A sales commission is a “tangible benefit”.
Give me a break, I’m not Johnson! I’m just arguing with you guys because I know you’re going to get your panties in a bunch. The tragic truth is if anyone should go to jail is the officers and NCOs, who lied while on active duty. You guys are trying to project a picture of self-rightness coming from a culture of corruption. You learn to bend the rules for advancement while in the service into the civilian world. I can give you a list of corruption in the military that will prove my point but you tools already know it.
Business must be really slow at the car lot in Union,NJ. Begone,Satan!! Do something constructive like washing/drying some of your “only driven by a little old lady” vehicles or blowing up some display balloons. You have enough hot air to accomplish both those tasks.
He’s probably not that Tom Johnson since he’s coming here from the other side of the country.
But will you give us a list of your mother’s and sister’s “customers?”
I didn’t bother to look up this useless law but how many people were ever convicted from it?
Nice argument…
Everyone cheats on taxes, why shouldn’t I?”
“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt”
You sure as hell fit the above statement Tom.
You are aware that the current statute is just over a year old, right? And in any case, the number of convictions to date is – bluntly – irrelevant. The fact that a law is uncommonly violated or prosecuted does not lessen the fact that it is indeed law. See the crime of treason for an example.
Not even a nice try at changing the subject.
Tom says:

Tom, I’m trying to see it from your point of view, but I can’t get my head that far up my ass. Comparing sports teams to members of the military is laughable.
Go away and come back when your balls drop down. Meanwhile, here’s a quarter. Go call your mama and tell her that you talked to real Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, and Airmen today.
@OAE CPO USN Ret I left a quarter on your wife’s nightstand when my balls dropped in in her mouth.
I’m still amazed at the amount of self-rightness on this site. None of you has still came with a legitimate argument to counter mine. I so glad Jon allows me to post on this site. Isn’t that what a blog is for to post different opinions or do I have fax my 214 to him to express my constitutional rights that I promise to defend and uphold? I hope none of you tools ever buy a coffee cup with self-rightness on it because that would be stolen integrity.
1. She’s my ex-wife.
2. I hope you had all of your shots before you stuck it in her. If not, run to the Dr now.
3. Look up a commenter on here called “vietnam war protestor” Every time he says something on here he gets slammed.
Be prepared to get the same treatment.
Sumbitch….
What if Tom is really vwp having a semi-lucid moment?
Fat chance. Tom knows how to spell and has actually posted a spelling correction.
It’s “righteousness” you ignorant fuckstick. And as far as refuting your arguments, they’re so weak they collapse all on their own especially since none address the issue at hand: that Thomas Johnson lied about his service and continues to do so in order to sell cars or whatever the fuck he’s selling this week. In closing, FOAD and ESAD you sweat from a baboon’s balls.
“Tom”: based on what you’ve said here so far, IMO you couldn’t find a logical argument if it bit your ear.
In effect, the only “argument” you’ve made here has been multiple variants of “everybody does something bad, you’ve probably done something bad yourself, so why are you picking on this guy”. That technique is known by various names – changing the subject, smokescreen, red herring, non sequitur, and probably several other variations that don’t immediately come to mind. They all involve bringing up an irrelevant point in order to divert attention away from the matter at hand.
Those are also techniques generally used by someone who has no good argument to counter damaging facts. They’re essentially arguments of desperation and deflection.
We see them all the time. Leftist politicians in particular love to use them.
Aside from his undocumented and false award claims, Johnson has made a huge number of other really ridiculous claims as well. Take a look at this link, which gives a version of the guy’s resume as well:
http://www.thesandgram.com/2014/04/04/busting-military-posers-case-78-the-car-salesman/
The facts in this case are simple: Johnson is a liar. He did not serve 30 years in the USMC. He was not awarded the awards he claimed (and yes, he did indeed claim them). He is guilty of claiming awards for heroism and qualifications he does not legitimately rate. By definition, he is thus a liar, and is also guilty of stolen valor.
The fact that you are defending him at all IMO says much about you. But that’s just my opinion.
Eh…self-RIGHTEOUSNESS maybe? Come on pal, keep up with the rest of us unedumacated tools…
“The tragic truth is if anyone should go to jail is the officers and NCOs, who lied while on active duty.”
And none of us here condone it or find it remotely acceptable….yet you do.
You keep trying to make the same false and invalid non argument..”everyone does it”…and you keep trying to deflect attention from the fact that its wrong and trying to justify it by pointing at others and saying “but they are even more guilty”.
Not a one of us here will buy into that and we will not be distracted from the point at hand….Thomas Roger Johnson LIED.
You cant justify it, you cant apologize for it, and the more you argue on behalf of a lie being acceptable, the more you double down on the stupid.
@Doc Savage I never said I condone it. I’m just trying to figure out why you guys feel entitled to be the moral police when it comes to embellishing military service, when everyone of you did the same thing one time or another. I believe anyone would question that amount of ribbons on a coffee cup even if they served in the Civil Air patrol.
Talk to the SCOTUS, “Tom”. They’re the ones who invalidated the previous law, saying that the remedy for lies regarding stolen valor is publication of the truth.
Oh no, he went there…….
“I’m just trying to figure out why you guys feel entitled to be the moral police when it comes to embellishing military service, when everyone of you did the same thing one time or another.”
Seriously? Everyone? Let me just tell you that I never, ever, embellished any of my military service. It might shock you, and by your comments of believing that there is a ‘culture of corruptness’ it probably does, but most of us take Integrity to heart and very seriously. I know I do. So please do not categorize so blatantly everyone here.
I believe you, I really do!
You’re missing the POINT guy. Because it isn’t prosecuted unless the claims result in criminal gain of some sort it is up to US and those like us to expose and ridicule these MFers who pull this BS.
BULLSHIT, I’m done with your worthless ass.
Becuase it is a legitimate Soldier/Airman/Sailor/Marine/etc duty to show some integrity and honesty. It is our duty make sure some bullshitter does not get credit for something they never earned, Tom. Nothing to do with moral police, has all to do with honor.
It is an honor to do this kind of work and if you are going to lie about it and steal peoples money from doing it. You deserve to be outed and busted. Shitheads get no sympathy from me.
Every one of us has embellished huh? Not me. I wear what I earned. Anything more would be a CRIME. Duh.
“when everyone of you did the same thing one time or another”
Well fuck you too asshole.
I have never dressed up my military service, was not high speed and low drag just an average sailor.
Dammit, where’s Ex-PH2, Valkyrie, Pinto, Clams, and Toasty when you need them. This is shaping up to be an epic smack down and I’d hate to have them miss out! 🙂
RELEASE THE LADIES!!!
XOXO Thanks gents. 🙂
Like Ex-PH2, I was watching your smackdown of Tom. I had a couple of sweet things to post, but out of respect for Jonn and the rustling bushes, I did not post them lest they be interpreted incorrectly by unbalanced types.
I believe that “Tom” the sockpuppet is an ENTP. They like to argue for the fun of it. Replies only fuel their ego, so I didn’t post.
Like most posers and sockpuppets, their personalities are easily identifiable and pathologies predictable. For me to have joined in the dogpile would not have been a fair fight for “Tom”. I am not without some compassion for the tool.
Mustang, I have watched while the lot of you have skirmished quite effectively with your opponent, in this case someone named Tom.
Apparently, he does not understand the vast difference between a sports fan’s display of a shirt with his favorite sports star’s name and/or team printed on it, and someone who lies his ass off about military service.
Geezo pete, if I want to make up asinines stories about what I’ve done, I can go to a surplus store, buy a bunch of gedunk ribbons and those metal Army jacket blingers, buy some ribbon at a fabric storie, and create a military career in the United Space Fleet out of whole cloth. I can even come up with a fake USF ID that looks real. Then I can go lie my ass off at a Star Trek Con or ComicCon or Windy Con, even when I’m stinking drunk, and get away with it. I’ve done it. I also have my signed Space Shuttle Door Gunner School grad certificate. So there!
But that’s not the same thing as lying about real time in the military, what you did, or where you were, and how long you were there, especially if you’re using those lies to line your pockets.
That’s for Tom. His arguments and deflections have no merit because they don’t address the real issue, which is lying about service as opposed to wearing a fan shirt.
Oh, yeah – on behalf of Toasty Coastie, the two Toms are toad snot glitterfarts.
I was wondering when we’d get to see you Lionesses of TAH sink your claws into Tommy the ‘Tardo!!
They’re heeeeeeeeeeere……
Damn, I don’t have any popcorn and it’s almost time for bed! Oh well.
You guys are doing so well without us!
Damned fine job, if I do say so!
Roll call!! Muster time!!!
@Hondo First of all, if anyone believes a used car salesman they need their head examined. That’s why they are used car salesman. Oh my! Someone didn’t tell the truth.
Well, it appears we have what’s commonly referred to as a “troll” – and a fairly obvious one at that. I think it’s getting close to time for me take Father John Majeski’s advice from Proverbs 14:7.
If you need that last bit explained to you, “Tom” – just follow this link. The first scene is the one that’s relevant.
@Mustang1LT what smack down are you talking about? Thanks for correcting my spelling that’s the first correct thing you said that makes sense all day. The SCOTUS overturned the Stolen Valor Act because if everyone went to jail for lying the jails would be overflowing. The congress cannot legislate what comes out of people’s mouths just like they cannot decree what people trust in. It’s called America douche nozzles!
You sound like a barracks lawyer.
Definitely one whiny motherfucker.
Get lost, tool.
When they drop, you can return.
Until then, go away. You do not have to go away mad, but just go away.
More like a shithouse lawyer, Thumb. This dipshit may be in need of a hearty handshake and a warm cup of soup. Or, perhaps we should get him a top hat and a cane since he just keeps tap dancing around the facts. Tappa-tappa-tappa.
What smackdown? You’ll see fuckstick……As far as criticizing my debate skills, you better come correct if you’re going to step to me. That means none of the bullshit you’ve been trying with your straw man arguments, your ad hominem attacks, your misdirection, and your utter failure to stay on point. I would continue but it’s not fair to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man. Now beat it kid, ya bother me.
Tom :The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 has not been overturned jackase. Wikipedia is your friend.
Wikipedia is your friend unless the article is written by some Italian chick trying to stick up for her friend Stark or Shark or whatever that phony survival school SEAL/Force Recon wannabe that was featured last week’s name was.
Or unless it is an attempted article by and about a certain Texas State Guard reject trying to bulk up his resume for his bullshit criminal investigation business.
Or…..well, there’s a reason that college professors don’t accept Wikipedia as a valid source for a bibliography or works cited page.
🙂
It’s a decent resource for a quick refresher on stuff with which you’re reasonably familiar, Mustang1LT. For anything else . . . caveat emptor.
And yeah – as a primary source, it’s a NO GO.
You and your guys still doing A-OK?
Hondo,
Things are going well. We are conducting some training for the locals with regards to construction and maintenance tasks (electrical, plumbing, generators, HVAC, carpentry) in addition to bringing down buildings so we’re keeping busy. So far so good and we’ll see how things go with the Bilateral Security Agreement and what impact, if any, on what we’re doing.
Your lost dude!
That’s “you’re” dude.
It’s “you’re”, you ignorant fuck. Try to at least use the right word if you’re going to argue. You might want to pick up a dictionary, a thesaurus, and a grammar textbook before you make an even bigger fool of yourself.
‘Lil Tommy-Poo, you’ve had your ass handed to you but I want to ask, have you ever served in the US Military? NO, playing Army in your Mommy’s back yard, video war games, and ROTC, Junior or college doesn’t count!
I don’t give a shit-eating snot-sucking assfuck about what sniveling little Sparkle Pony snotweasels like you think about Military Service, most of us here at TAH have served for real, plenty of us have gone into harm’s way overseas, and we hold ourselves to higher standards than snotweasels like you do. So when someone like this toad snot-headed excuse of a car salesman suddenly goes out showing off things he didn’t earn, yeah, it pisses a number of us off, it’s been outlawed, and we do something about it.
Ok jackass what makes you think I haven’t served in the military? I just don’t wear my ribbons on my sleeve like most of you retards once I retired I let it go. I probably have socks that been on more deployments then you douche bags. So spare me the whining bullshit about you don’t know because you never served. I’m a constitutionalist the law says lying about a coffee cup is not a crime or exaggerating military service verbally.
What law would that be, “Tom”? The law that you said was overturned, and thus invalid? Or one from last year you obviously didn’t know about when you commented earlier?
The law that says having sex with your sister is wrong!
You would know from personal experience.
Oh, and learn how to use commas, you jackass. Seriously, you’re going to try to make a Constitutional argument? The First Amendment establishes that the GOVERNMENT cannot abridge your right to free speech. We are not impeding your butt-buddy’s right to tell lies; we are calling bullshit on them. In other words, we are combating speech that is false with speech that is true. So in addition to a dictionary, a thesaurus, and a grammar textbook, you might want to pick up a copy of that Constitution you allegedly swore an oath to protect and defend. Or not, since you appear to be illiterate in addition to being annoying.
Your time spent playing videogames in your Mommy’s basement and High School JROTC does NOT count as Military Service, I’ve told you that already, you glitter-farting tinsel mouse!! I bet I have more time as an Air Force Submarine Door Gunner than you have Active Duty time, PERIOD!! That sound you hear? Yes, it’s your Mommy telling you to come upstairs to her kitchen, she just made you a peanut butter sandwich and some fresh Kool-Aid, there you go, GOOD BOY! She also says for you to play nice and she’ll have a nice warm enema for you before your bedtime!!
‘I probably have socks that been on more deployments then you douche bags.’ – Westcoast Tom
Oh, now you’ve done it, you flapmouthed codpiece clamp. Bad idea to start down that path. REALLY bad idea.
You have NO idea how deep you stuck your fool’s foot in it. Enjoy trying to get out, buttercup.
Oh! I’m so scared. What are going to do to me? Are you a Navy Seal or squeal? I’m trying to figure it out.
Keep trying.
Smooches! <3 <3 <3 !!!
I get the feeling that you may have served a few years. Most likely they were less than stellar and you received a less than n=honorable discharge. That would account for your “everyone does it” attitude. You’re simply making a pathetic attempt to project your own failures and lack of honor and integrity onto others. It ain’t gonna work here you flea infested goat fucker. The vast majority of those who serve or have served never felt the need to embellish or lie about their service. Your lame attempts to say otherwise are nothing more than a reflection on your piss poor character. It wouldn’t surprise anyone here to learn that you regularly lie about your service or are one of those stank ass hippies who try to run the military down, knowing that our services are filled with men and women who are much better than you are.
Now, you little snot nosed cum sprinkled monkey turd, the Stolen Valor Act was not rescinded or overturned by the USSC. One part was removed The USSC did state that the remedy to a dishonorable liars claims is the truth. That’s what we do here. Expose the truth about liars and frauds. If that hurts your tender sensibilities then perhaps you should be examining your own life for the failures you have brought upon yourself and not trying to run down those who served honorably and are taking the liars to task. I doubt you will though. You appear to think you are a special little sparkle pony.
I’m sorry to disappoint you Cletus but you cannot project the values and ethos of the military to the civilian population in a true democratic society. I know you all get butt hurt by it but it the way the founding fathers set it up.
We’re not a democracy you idiot. We are a Constitutional Republic. Better pick up a civics book, too. And by the way, expecting people to be honest and honorable is not projecting “the values and ethos of the military to the civilian population”. It is a reasonable expectation and comes down to common courtesy. But again, you seem to have picked this hill, so good luck with that.
Sorry to disappoint you, shithead, but I can project the values and ethos of the military where and when I want. There’s this pesky little thing called the 1st Amendment. If I and those here want to speak out against the liars and frauds, we can. And as Mustang1LT pointed out, we aren’t a democracy, numnuts.
Tom, have you even listened to the recordings of this lying sack of shit? This is about much more than a coffee mug. Listen to 5he self righteous son of a bitch talk about his recon patrol (in Laos of course) that was wiped out and how he spent 17 days as a POW. The dude wanted fame and notoriety, why won’t you stand by and let him receive the accolades he has earned? The more you defend this valor thief, the more dumbass you look. Apparently, you do not value the courage, heroics, and bloodshed that real Vietnam War POW’s went through, many of whom never came home, or came home in a box. Why don’t you go buy a car from The Colonel? Any dumbass can.
GD….save your breath..he isn’t “trying to figure out” why we hold liars feet to the fire….what he wants is acquiescence.
He will try to find any weak excuse to justify and deflect attention from the real issue…Stolen valor.
Using Ad Hom attacks, unrelated “examples” and other pointless analogies, in an attempt to excuse this behavior.
He cant….so, he will simply resort to personal attacks.
Eeewwww!
If Westcoast Tom is trying to deflect the thread from the real issue – Eastcoast Tom’s hoohah lies about his not-30 years of MARCORPS service – am I the only one who thinks perhaps Westcoast Tom may be enhancing his own bit of balderdash and may have gotten away with it for some time?
His statement, that ‘we’ have ALL lied about or enhanced our own service is hot air, baloney, somewhere on the same level as pondscum vacuuming.
I haven’t ever had any reason to lie about my service. I can do better writing novels. It’s a lot more fun.
Hey! Westcoast Tom! You’re a nincompoop.
And I’m just getting started, sport, so if you want a tussel, bring it, boy.
Oh man! Ex-PH2 is in the mix. I’m not shaking in my house slippers for some reason. Maybe because it’s not any hair of my nuts if a guy tells lies at the VFW or selling cars. We’re surrounded such upstanding citizens you guys should run for public office. Oh! Wait a minute than you cannot hide behind your keyboards no more.
“Tom”. You might want to spend a little time (a week or so…) reading this blog before making sweeping generalizations and entering discussions you know little about.
It’s “then” you stupid piece of shit. And, again, commas are your friend.
I didn’t realize I was writing a term paper.
How sad. Then you enjoy appearing to be uneducated, dingalinger?
I’m sure the irony escapes you.
Changing the subject, Westcoast Tom, is NOT going to work here.
And if you think it doesn’t affect YOU when people lie about their service, think again. If they aren’t stopped in their tracks and exposed, they create distrust toward people who DON’T lie about their service. When they lie about having PTSD, they put ALL veterans in a bad light, and that includes YOU, you milk-livered onion-eyed nuthook.
Is that simple enough for you, spetznaez, or should I use smaller words?
Smaller words won’t work with this one. The Stupid is far too strong, methinks. Hell, this clown doesn’t know the difference between “your” and “you’re” or the difference between “of” and “off” so perhaps the level of discourse is beyond his pitiful level of comprehension. Or he could just be a dumbass.
Methinks, you’ll be at the VA tomorrow morning trying to up your disability because someone gave you a hard time on the internet today!
Nope, unlike you and your butt-buddy, I don’t need to claim shit that I haven’t earned or not entitled to. Besides, I’m about 8000 miles from the nearest VA so fuck off, shit-for-brains.
Doubtful, asswipe. He’s deployed out of country.
Try harder, hosebeast.
Don’t you all just LOVE how Westcoast Tom rerouted this thread from Eastcoast Tom to himself?
If he’s that desperate for attention, let’s give it to him! Come on, Tom. We’re just getting warmed up here.
You know what cow manure is good for? Fertlizing the lawn, you whey-faced wagtail. My guess is that you specialize in it, tommy-poo.
Sounds to me more like someone’s been trying to live up to daddy’s example his whole life, Ex-PH2. And is bitter because he couldn’t.
But what would I know?
Well, good night all. Gotta get up early and get back to it. I’ll leave this in your more than capable hands. I’ll check in on this tomorrow and I’m sure it will be most entertaining.
Duerme bene, amicus meus.
Tom,
I think the point that has been made, (that you seem to have trouble understanding) is that certain aspects of this blog, and other blogs dealing specifically with stolen valor are what the Supreme Court of the U.S. has said can be used to fight fraudulent claims of service, in lieu of a law making speaking those stolen valor claims illegal. In United States v. Alvarez, it was determined that counter speech would be effective in combating claims of stolen valor. (http://scholar.google.com/scholar_case?case=2853347803518998660&hl=en&as_sdt=6&as_vis=1&oi=scholarr)
While he may not have broken any laws, as much as the Supreme Court has stated he is free to make these false claims, this blog and others like it are free to refute those claims and expose the frauds for what they are. Some (Many?) of these Stolen Valor types go on to actually break the law by using these lies to benefit their bank accounts (or to fleece unsuspecting citizens). John Gidduck is a classic example of this behavior. He pumped up his credentials, experiences, and education with fraudulent claims and used those lies to make a fair amount of cash on the lecture circuit. It would appear, from looking at Mr. Johnson’s LinkedIn profile that he has thought about doing the same.
Well said ByrdMan. Let me go out on a limb and throw something else out there –
You stated: “While he may not have broken any laws…”;
Making a bit of a stretch shows that he may well attempted or did break the law. The Stolen Valor Act (PL # 113-12) states among other things, that if a person “with intent to obtain money, property, or other tangible benefit, fraudulently holds himself or herself out to be a recipient of” a list of awards and decorations including the Purple Heart and Silver Star, this person has broken the law. Note that it doesn’t say that they have to get any of these benefits for free. Attempting to purchase a plaque claiming to have all of these awards appears to me to be as trying to obtain a “tangible benefit”, at least as far the definition goes.
Now, is the FBI going to raid his house because of this?? Nope. It’s much more effective (and fun) to let us do our thing here and exercise our counter-speech rights as the Supreme Court has seen fit to give us.
Man, you guys make it so easy to screw with. It’s time for me to take my afternoon nap, so I’ll say good bye.
Yep, living the lie at the expense of the dead is easy for some. Sleep well.
Good afternoon! And thank you for keeping the thread active, thus drawing maximum attention to Thomas Roger Johnson, the lying Marine embellisher!
Well, HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY with Smurfette getting f**ked in the ass by a unicorn while it farts rainbow glitter and shits skittles all over her, Tommy-poo,my snotspined little rainbow glitter fartcake!! I’ve done my overseas time in Asia and the Middle East, and I’ve lost friends and subordinates in the ME as well. One thing that chafes me about POSers like who you support here is that the Purple Heart, one of the things claimed by your pal the Sparkle Brony, was posthumously awarded to those lost to us overseas, and your Smurf-lusting poser pals never shed even the tiniest drop of blood, sweat, or tears for theirs or most of the awards they claim. No, I’m not a PH recipient, I went there and did my fair share of time outside the wire in harm’s way, and I don’t lie or embellish one bit about it. Candyassed Sparkle Pony snotweasels like you claim the right to free speech on lying and embellishment, and it’s OUR right to call “BULLSHIT!” on fictitious claims of Military Service and embellishment. You sound like some care bear-hugging little college puke who thinks he’s someone, but you’re messing with people who have actually been there and done that. What branch of the US Armed Forces do you claim to have served in and don’t even THINK of claiming you’re some sooperdooperseekritskwirrel whose entire service record is classified, “blacked out”, or “your records were destroyed in a fire”, that flashes the word “POSER” to us like a casino sign on the Las Vegas Strip!!
Is that you, Bradbury?
I guess it was.
Tom Bradbury was one of my team leaders during Desert Storm. Hondo put two and two together and gave me the name, and turns out that his email address was in my book. He’s probably still mad about the time I made the platoon’s NCOs come at 3AM to do the common areas once when they weren’t riding herd on the privates the way I liked.
Did he always get pissy around naptime?
Jonn, that wasn’t compassionate of you. You should have tried to get in touch with their feelings to ascertain if your expectations were unreasonable or maybe they had PTS? /smile
Yeah, I suck.
What a big crybaby he is. 😛
Yes it’s me Jonn. How’s it going? You know how I love screwing with people. I’m still in Texas. I see your posse is still so sensitive.
Bradbury was one of the team leaders of the squad we sent to USAREUR’s best infantry squad competition and they won it that year (1991) a few months after we returned from Desert Storm.
So Tom….you did not answer. Is it true that you have no respect for the sacrifices made by genuine POWs? I know you’d rather talk more about your socks, but it is really a simple question.
People like Tom who feel that lies don’t matter are exactly why we have the society we do at this moment in time. Most of you here like to point out that less than 1% of the population is serving at any one time currently in the military. When you look at what’s leftover in that 99% it’s clear to me that our society is not one that values honor and integrity above all else. Our popular culture leaves much to be desired today, our celebrities are mostly liars and drunks or addicts (not all, but there are many). They cheat on their spouses and go through partners more frequently than some of us change hair styles. We have a culture that has produced a situation where the most dangerous place for a black child is in its’ mothers womb….we have a culture that has several hundred elected leaders in DC that most people believe tell more lies than a used car salesman and we do nothing about it because as a society we actually do love liars. The 1% who serve and the even smaller fraction of that 1% that spends time at sites like this are almost statistically insignificant in a population of 330 million people. I concede that Tom is closer to right than any of us here when he says, everyone lies, because in truth that 99% has a lot of liars in it. I’m actually okay with understanding that this activity of pointing out liars isn’t popular or widely respected, the path of righteousness is narrow and lonely. If I wanted to take the easy road I would not have turned down a 4 year music scholarship to the Hartt School of Music to learn how to be an 11B. I would be retired after a lifetime of teaching kids to play shitty music in high school and be relaxing on my boat in my lakeside house. I chose a different path, as did most of you here when you decided the military was your choice. That was not the easy path, or the most… Read more »
“men with those things” should read “men without those things aren’t men they’re just males”…..damn typos!
Yes, after all the Clinton impeachment was just about consensual sex between adults. Sandy Burglar, stealing documents from the Natl. Archives in his sock…that was just an error in judgement. Thanks for not drinking the Kool Aid – VOV and the rest of yas.
Asshats like Tom make me crazy bro, always an excuse…..
It’s almost as bad as when dems try to tell me that Liz Warren lying isn’t that big a deal….it pisses them off when I laugh and tell them that’s why their property taxes keep rising like a helium balloon, because they just keep electing lying sacks of shit as long as there is the all important (D) after the name…a one party state is no longer a state, it’s just a collection of hacks and has beens taking from the people and crapping all over the state.
Lighten up Francis! I was a DOD police officer once, when CSMs used to come and ask me to charge a soldier ducking into the building during retreat with crime. They didn’t know the difference between UCMJ and civil laws. The same with super marine applies here. I can go to ranger Joes at Ft Benning and buy all the black and gold shirts that say rangers without having served a day in a ranger BN. I hate to break it to you tools it’s not against the law. The best you can do is out them over the internet. Now if the receive monetary rewards such as making a false entitlement assertion to the VA that’s different.
“The best you can do is out them over the internet.”
Which is exactly what we’re doing here. Yet you seem to have a problem with that.
OOOHH, you were a DOD “Rent-a-Fuzz”, most likely the variety that gets its rocks off writing tickets for going 1MPH over the speed limit, etc., did you ever serve even one day in the US military, period, or were you just another DOD Civilian? *whistling* Here boy, fetch the jellied doughnut!!
Boy you pole smokers don’t give up easily do you? Hey Einstein if DOD is a GS position, I’m sure to have served at lease a day or two in the military to work for the government with a cleared background check right. I’m mean even the D.C. Naval yard shooter had a cleared background check to work for the government.
Which doesn’t say much about you or the job you held. “Hey! I had the same job and clearance as a mass murderer!”
What’s next, are you gonna show us your Expert Jelly Doughnut Badge, Tommy-poo?
Where do you see anything in Jonn’s post advocating charging this pathetic idiot with a crime? Outing them on the internet is precisely the purpose here. I counsel you to go back to your nap before you look even more stupid.
Ok so why is everyone quoting the Stolen valor Act because Super Marine is not going to get charged with it.
Jonn – didn’t you teach this young buck sgt anything (lol).
“The best you can do is out them over the internet.”
Comprehension is a problem for you isn’t it. Outing them is just what we are doing here, peawit.
Does anyone else here think that East Coast Tom is on a leave of absence out to the West Coast and went to a local library and took computer access away from an eight year old? I betcha he told the kid he only wanted to catch up on the latest Little Pony episode and would only be on line for just a couple of minutes.
Strike my comment. Tom was identified while I was in the process of typing.
He said he was an ex-DOD “Rent-a-Fuzz”, maybe like you-know-who is an ex-TSA groper!
In a sluggish economy, when employers are looking for any possible excuse to downsize their staff, telling tall tales about military service (blatant lies) and claiming PTSD you don’t have for injuries you didn’t receive can get your ass fired.
Our two latest fat idiots found that out the hard way, didn’t they?
Damn, Lilyea.
You caused a serious case of epic butthurt. 24 years later and Tommy still can’t sit down.
I have that effect on people. You might have noticed.
Lol!
Gee whiz, tommy-poo. short nap time, eh? Restless legs? Still carrying a grudge? How shallow can you get?
He’s probably huddling in a corner in the fetal position hugging his favorite care bear!
I’m well rested now how about you? I don’t carry grudges life is too short but it seems you do. The VA has a thing called ebenefits you can apply online to up your disability, if our conversation caused you any stress.
You don’t hold a grudge and you don’t answer direct questions. How special.
No grudges, but he makes it a point troll this website 20+ years after Jonn did a couple of things he didn’t like.
Words, actions. One is for show. The other is the way to bet.
Jonn, is this guy being serious or is he just trying to get a rise outta people. He won best squad, so I’m guessing he wasn’t a shitbird.
He called a little while ago and said he’s doing research on a master’s project. He’s just being all the asshole he can be, I guess.
Jonn, is this guy being serious or is he just trying to get a rise outta people. He won best squad, so I’m guessing he wasn’t a shitbird.
You figure it out Cletus! Come on do you guys really believe the BS coming out of your piehole. You guys have no clue about the dribble spouting out of your mouths pretending to laws and integrity. I told you, I can buy a coffee cup with an underwater mess kit repairman’s badge and it’s still not breaking the law.
I didn’t win best squad like it was some lottery, I earned it.
It was a competition – you won it. Stop quibbling. You can get angry if I said you won a CIB, but not a best infantry squad competition.
Tom……I’ve been reading your comments all day long. Purposely not commenting on what you have to say. You should go back and read them. You come across as a pompous, self serving ass.
Your last comment about your squad winning best squad. Where did the I word come from? Last time I checked its a we award for 10-12 guys.
Just for the record , I’m a former 11B “Buck Sgt”
@3/17 Your absolutely right it was a “we” award. But to say I sound like a pompous ass for hitting some people with some knowledge is stretching it. Some peeps on this site assumed I was the super marine that was your first mistake. Some of you people believe that by having a different opinion, I’m disrespecting veterans in some way. That like when republicans and democrats were debating on the affordable care act by saying if you are for it or against it you don’t care about the American people or blacks throwing the race card on every argument they lose. If you look at the transcripts, you will find that the environment of corruption exists in the military. Anyone who has been a recruiter lied to make quota, or a drill sergeant gave a substandard boot a free pass to a line unit to pass the buck. The rating scheme for NCOERs and OER has always been over inflated. Would you rather live in a country where citizens can burn the flag as a form of protest or in a society that does not allow it? Or how about this: is better to live in a country with separation of church and state, or in a country united with the church and state. The first sign of defeat in a debate is personal attacks.
Tom…..Listen, I have no personal beef with what you say. The problem for me is that you mix personal opinion, which is OK with me and call it knowledge. It’s almost like your job is to educate people within this blog.
You, have your opinions, which is fine, and we have ours, which is also fine.
In closing, let me redefine my previous comment. You may not be a pompous ass. However your delivery comes across like one!
I don’t believe I’m trying to educate anyone, people have been pointing out my spelling mistakes. The SCOTUS overturned Stolen Valor Act, regardless, if you agree with it. In the big scheme of things I think it was the right choice. There a reason big reason why we don’t have a religious police in our country. This site does a good job of outing people that are military imposters. The real enemy is the ones who go to the VA and clog the system with needless claims or benefits.
Apparently, you are not up to date on SCOTUS.
The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 replaced the Stolen Valor act of 2005 because it was, in their words, too loosely worded.
And you’re working on a mater’s degree? In what, licking postage stamps?
As has already been posted, apparently you aren’t up to date. The Stolen Valor Act has ben passed (again). You also don’t seem to realize that many of those who are clogging the VA system are the very ones who are lying about who and what they are. The very people we call out here. If you’d bother reading this blog, you would also know that folks here also address the problems with and within the VA on a regular basis.
Reading through this, while entertaining, has certainly not been a learning experience. If imparting knowledge was your intent, then you are a failure here, Tom. The only knowledge to be gained from your comments is about your character. Facts? Not so much. It is obvious that everyone else already knew at least as much, and mostly quite a bit more, about Stolen Valor than do you.
Whatever.
So fill me in about my character OWB or old white bastard, I’m sure you’re just a bucketful of wisdom. When you go to the VA you have to stand in the same line as I do. Character is being an original. I don’t have to think like everyone else.
Alright guy, never said you won it like it was a lottery. If you are so proud of what you earned that’s fine. But if I were to claim that I earned best squad honors knowing full well that I did not, you would be okay with that right? If so, then you must not care too much about you earned then.
That’s why people get pissed about these phonies. Guys here have earned Purple Hearts, Bronze Stars, Silver Stars, and CIBs. For some slapdick to throw that shit on their uniform or in this case a coffee mug is a slap in the face to the guys that know all too well what it took to earn those awards. That is what this is about.
That’s the whole point here, Buck Sergeant (you’ll always be a buck sergeant to me), it’s not illegal, so if we want people to stop pretending to be something they’re not, to steal what you and I earned, the only thing left is to shame them into stopping. When the Supreme Court overturned the 2005 Stolen Valor Act, they said the cure for speech that is false is speech that is true. That the truth doesn’t need a badge and handcuffs.
Is it against the law? Maybe not. Is it dishonest to portray yourself as something you’re not? Absolutely. Do I have the right to call you out on it, and proclaim your dishonesty to the world? Absolutely.
The word is “drivel”, by the way.
I agree but point out one dishonest statement I made. Thanks for the spell check.
“My goodness it’s just a coffee cup…”
The multiple times you declared that “everyone does it” is factually incorrect. You either think that, and are just wrong, or you really don’t believe it and were lying when you said it.
Dishonesty? How about when you said ‘everyone does it’?
That alone demonstrates your hypocrisy. You certainly are a boring twerp and an attention whore.
But should you not understand the effect that lying vets and non-vets actually have, when you lie about where you were stationed and when, awards you claim but were never given, injuries that you don’t actually have, never mind just lying about actually being in the military, it casts doubt on the rest of the veterans’ community, and that includes YOU, you moron.
It’s also a good way to get your sorry ass fired, especially if you’ve been hired for a position of trust.
Is that simple enough for you, bucky boy?
Oh, look, my peeps! I went hunting and got a boor without firing a shot!
I was referring to everyone lies. The hypocrisy is you denying it. So sit back in your cubicle and think of some other ways to show what an ass you really are.
Everyone lies? Prove it, bucky boy. You have no proof. You make a blanket statement without proof.
Then, when anyone disputes your blanket statement, which is factually incorrect, you try to turn it back on any one of us?
Wow, you are SO bad at accepting reponsibility for anything YOU say, but blame it on US! And we’re the hypocrites? If that isn’t the big, fat pot calling the kettle black!
How the hell do you manage to hold down a job? Do you even have one?
Never mind. I don’t care. You’re not nearly as good at this as you think you are.
Oh, yeah – I’m not in a cubicle, you braindead beef-witted maltworm.
Touchy! So I guess I’m chatting with Jesus now.
No, he’s dead. Just a question: do you have to take an adult with you to get into R-rated movies?
Wow! Pee Wee Herman wants to go to the movies again. I thought you were still band from the movie theater?
Tom, Methinks you are a bit wrapped up in trying to imply we are some sort of lynch mob that calls for the execution of anyone who so much as wears a surplus army jacket. Back to the shithead with the coffee mug. He is absolutely free to ATTEMPT to buy or even buy a cup with whatever he wants on it. The company that makes those customized cups may not want to sell him that cup because they feel that there should be some “truth” in what people have on their desks. Thats their choice. There are companies who will sell ANYTHING to ANYBODY, either trusting that the people aren’t going to being fraudulent,, or the simply don’t care. Now the ass-bag who bought the cup also happens to be a lying sack of shit. While that is not a crime in itself, it is grounds to be called out on. Public ridicule. Truth being the remedy for lies. Tom, I will give you my personal opinion on the wearing of uniforms, gear etcetera. I’m sure most of the people on here feel close to the same. People can go a few ways with it. 1. There are collectors, military supporters, trick or treaters, reenactors etc. These are people who make no claim either open or implied that they have earned awards or served. No problem 2. People that verbally claim service or awards they did not earn, strictly for reasons of inflated ego. This includes flashing non-official items such as T-shirts, challenge coins, “certificates” Etc. Remedy is basically calling them out for being shitheads. 3. People that both claim and WEAR DOD awards and uniforms they didn’t earn,,,, but again for ego boosting only. Again public ridicule,,, True speech being the remedy for free speech. The only additional thing is that there are federal laws addressing the WEARING of unforms and medals that should be enforced,, ( but never are. 4. The Last Category, Those who verbally claim and/or wear unearned medals or uniforms in order to gain some tangible benefit. That covers VA fraud, bilking charities or… Read more »

Tom says, “My goodness, it’s just about a piece of ass…”
@ Just an Old Dog I do believe some people are behaving like a lynch mob on this site. I do agree with some of your statements, and I believe I pretty much wrote the same thing. When people defraud the government by their embellishment it should be punished. To order a coffee cup with outlandish ribbons on it is still not a crime. People were complaining about my delivery or statements it is their right. But for them to go off on the deep end and verbally assault me because of my stand is dictatorial. Now you got a problem with that?
You brought that shit on yourself, buckyboy. You’re a pompous-assed, self-important, ego-centric snarkbaiter. You wanted attention, and you got it. You just didn’t like what you got.
And no, you did NOT accept exposure of stolen valor at face value. You hijacked this thread to turn all the attention on yourself. Then, when you’re confounded by rebuttal, you didn’t like what you got. All you had to do was stick to the subject, which was NOT about you, you dog-cheap brise-fan swishing meathead.
News flash punky boy I’m still not intemidated by you or anybody else on this site! It must get under your skin that you have no control of this situation. All your leadership training couldn’t prepare you for meeting someone who just doesn’t agree with shit your selling.
The first sign of “intemidation” is forgetting how to spell intimidated.
Tom – stop digging.
I never claimed to be a typist. I’m not digging just giving you some of your own medicine. Ex-ph2 claims to to take the high road here. She forgot I just wrote that I’m a former Dod police officer, where I personally investigated abuse cases sexual and spousal from all ranks, defrauding the government, shopping lifting, and various other crimes committed by all ranks. So spare me the outrage from a coffee cup or lying about being a POW. There are children in this country with more experience in a firefight then some of you here. But they don’t get pretty badges for it. So GDcontracter you can suck it too!
As far as I recall, while people called the guy out for being an asshole, no one is called for his arrest.
We all think he’s a douchebag for it. You getting on here and saying we shouldn’t be bothered by it because “everyone does it” just doesnt sit well.
To be honest, the guy is small fry compared to most. If he hadn’t got on the phone with Taco Bell and weaved such a tangled tale of bullshit he might not even made the cut.
As far as the way YOU were adressed, you generally reap what you sow.
You came off like an ass and you got talked to like an ass.
The door is open if you want to leave.
You couldn’t make make me shut up even if you were standing in front of me. I’m just not bothered by it there’s worst crimes being committed then this BS.
I’m not even worried about you shutting up. I don’t control this blog, hence I don’t have any control who posts.
If the Blog owners get tired of you they can cut you off at their discretion.
Frankly you are coming off as a Jackass. I sense you are extremely bitter about your time in the service and think that by coming on this blog and flapping your gums you can “get even” with your superiors that put you in your place in the Army.
Oh, lookie!! A keyboard commando. Is this clown really in a masters program? The standards must not be very high.
Another tool that wants to play!
Play? Hardly. Play denotes something fun. You are to easy to have fun with, hence it isn’t play. Now are you going to make some more empty, impotent threats? Oooh, I’m skeered. Go read a dictionary, fool.
‘Can’t make you shut up’, huh?
Well, that does clearly demonstrate your complete ignorance.
And you still haven’t answered my question, which was quite direct, but then intentionally referring to me as Paul Rubens is just another lame trick of yours, sport.
Obfuscation is not your strong point. I don’t believe you have any strong points. You are actually pointless.
Except for the one on top of his head.
What point have you made? None from where I’m sitting. I may be pointless but who keeps coming back for more. It’s perfectly clear I’m getting to you.
Who keeps coming back for more?
You do, you imbecile.
Again and again you prove how dim witted you are. Each person has made several points which you are either too dull to see or you are being deliberately obtuse. I vote for the former. And you aren’t bright enough to “get to me.” It’s obvious though that we are “getting” to you. You continue to comment here and each one shows that you have a serious case of chapped ass.
Good point, Army ATC. And he’s so dumb, he doesn’t have a clue how much he’s been baited all evening.
I think my work here is done.
Someone call the National Cemetery up there in Washington and have Alberti put back in. Tom says it’s ok, after all, everybody lies. My goodness, the whole thing was just about a headstone. No laws were broken. We should just get over it.
I say we bury Alberti in the coffee cup… everyone wins.
Awesomesauce!
Tom,
You are posting from NJ aren’t you? A little hurt no one likes your games? Don’t worry, they won’t arrest you nor threaten you. You have to live with your past lies. Just hope no one fell for any crazy “Top Secret, Classified” stories you might have told.

Tom,
We fucking get it and agree. Coffee Cup dude is just a dingleberry in the shitpile of Stolen Valor.
You coming on here and trying to tell us we are fools for wasting time addressing his studity made you no friends.
You want to be a troll have fun under the bridge with the assholes like Birdbath, Cheeseslayer, Dullass an Psul ( of the ballsack)
