Gregory Charles Banks; the phony just passing through
So one of our readers is a Mason up in Connecticut and this dude passes through his lodge on the way back from his combat assignments. Sometimes he’s in ACUs, other times he’s wearing his blues, like in the picture above. Of course, he’s Special Forces (isn’t everyone, these days) and in addition to his duties as an Army officer, he’s also a counselor with two offices. The man is a freakin’ machine.
Well, he didn’t turn up in any of my databases, but, you know, he’s probably so secret squirrel that he wouldn’t, but CID can’t find him either. Nor can NPRC;
We’re told that his lodge just threw him a big celebration for his recent award of the Bronze Star Medal so obviously, he loves attention – so here is all of the attention you could ever want, Greg-baby. It looks to me like he stole a midget’s jacket.

I emailed these pictures to our counselor friend, Greg Charles Banks and asked if these are not him in the photos, and he hasn’t answered back. I guess he’s going with “identity theft” as an explanation.
OK, I just got an email from him and he admits that this is him in this picture taken at the lodge not wearing the uniform;

Super Secret Mason Squirrel Gregory Charles Banks, welcome to the Poser show where you are todays Star. How is that limelight you craved feeling now?
As a Freemason, this just disgusts me. One of the pillars of our community is “Truth” and this man violates every part of that. I am deeply saddened to find such an individual within our craft. I can rest easy, though, with the knowledge that he will soon be outside the community, as there are means in place to accomplish such rare and unfortunate things.
What he has done that is most egregious is to violate the trust between brothers, within our community. Once that trust is broken, it is almost impossible to repair.
I’ll be making a copy of this information to forward to the Grand Lodge of Maine, as a caution.

Oh, this has the potential to be much worse. This guy is a certified & licensed counselor on CT. Among the areas listed he claims to help is PTSD, among other mental health issues.
I’d say that once the State Board gets ahold of this situation, they might be questioning the “mental health” of him, and discussing whether he is still competent enough to retain his credentials.
And then there is the potential for current and former clients to sue for fraud if the State decides to yank his permits, licenses, etc.
Not that I’m shedding any tears over this, but once you go down that path, there’s a whole host of troubles just waiting to reach out and touch you.
I have just alerted one of my friends who is a Mason, in case this turd might stray into his area. While I am not a Mason, I have been aware of the trust that AW1 Tim describes. When I was in business, one of the “qualifiers” that I looked for was the ring on their finger. I don’t know how this turd even got into the organization.

Well I shared this link with the many friends I have in CT, I am sure someone will confront him in the very near future. After seeing Derek Church and now this guy, it must have something to do with multiple chin syndrome!

What I find sad…this guy has ( if he hasn’t lied about that also) a Masters Degree….its a good accomplishment….and he has to completely screw up his life and credibility by pulling this poser bullshit
I sent a message to him at his counseling service with a link to this page. I encouraged him to do the right thing. I hope he cuts all this short and takes some friendly advice.
MCPO let us know what you find out. I have a lot of contacts in CT and a lot of them are in Law Enforcement several are State Troopers. At the very least he should have his license pulled. He isnt the first PTSD counselor that made up a Military career for benefit !
Ditto what AW1 Tim said; time to call the licensing board in CT and let them know what’s going on. We can only hope that his practice goes the way of his military career, particularly if he’s using stories of his service to gain new clients.
I obviously do not know what he professes in counseling sessions. However, if he is rockin’ a Purple Heart and CIB and gets monetary gain in his profession, does that not cross the legal line as per the newly revised Stolen Valor Act?

@2 Tim, one of my favorites, James “Manse” Towery is ( or was) a Mason with Lodge 165 out of Roswell Ga. I ran across an internet article that covered him getting some kind of award within the lodge. I found their face book page( which he was one of the admins of) and sent a few PMs to fellow members linking this site. The last time I checked he wasnt on the page anymore,
I always think of Masons as being stand up guys who do a lot of work for the community and don’t put up with morons within the lodges. What do you guys do in theses cases?
He will be removed from Masonry with haste, I’d imagine.

My grandfather was a veteran of World War II (and the other was in service during Korea, although he was tracking down AWOL individuals, to hear him tell it). Both were Freemasons. As a child, I always associated them (and rightly so) with charitable works and being upstanding individuals. They used to throw people out for shit like this. I suppose there aren’t many vets in that Lodge…

I believe lots of States offer abatements to Property Tax based on a Purple Heart. Is that not Fraud? Not sure if he has the guts to go full monty on his fakery.
I did three years AD at first and got out (I couldn’t stand what then-President Clinton and her husband Bill were doing to the Military), and I came back in as soon as I found out I could and would get deployed if I did (NG, still serving, two ME tours), I’m no super-GI, I’m just another “Leg”, but I’ve done my time outside the wire in harm’s way, and I’m unashamed of my Military Record! Dickheads like GREGORY CHARLES BANKS who have never even been to Boot Camp and play shit like this really piss me off, I think if they’re sporting unearned Ranger Scrolls or Tabs in public or online, they ought to have to walk a gauntlet at Ft. Benning’s Annual Ranger Rendezvous, and ditto at any SpecOps reunion of whatever they’ve pretended to be part of (SEALs, Green Berets, PJ’s,…). GREGORY CHARLES BANKS looks like he’d faint at the sight of someone with a bloody nose, let alone being around gunfire, anyway, it looks like he’s fucked himself, you don’t lie like that to fellow Masons, and since he claims he’s a counselor, he’s probably flushed his practice down the toilet as well!!

I guess he got his BSM, PH, and CIB on “classified SF missions”, too. He certainly seems to be missing certain corroborating visual evidence on his uniform showing he ever deployed to a combat zone.
Can anyone verify for sure there is no photo shop going on with the uniform picture? I do not have a program to look that closely. Not trying to be the devil’s advocate here I am just curious.

The guy should not even be wearing the uniform, and unless you are saying it is his head placed on some other posers Uniform… because the one in the photo is wrong all on its own regardless of who is wearing it.

@46 Easy please! I do not like what this guy is doing anymore than anyone else here. I have just read on other threads here about things getting “photoshopped”. I simply wondered, even considering the condition of the uniform, if it is all him or did HE put his OWN head on a photo of a uniform. I am not defending him in the least. I just wanted a closer look at the photo and don’t have the program to do so. Many here have that ability on their computers. Thus my question. So please don’t stomp me for asking a simple question. At least not too hard.
