Phony Shane Ladner gets his rifle and his hunt
You may remember Shane Ladner, the fellow who made up his Purple Heart and combat experience in Panama and went on the Show of Support expense paid trip to Midland TX where his wife lost her leg in the tragic accident there with a train. Well, Show of Support went ahead last night and gave Shane Ladner his rifle, despite the fact that he lied about his military service. You can watch him receive yet another honor he doesn’t deserve in this video at about 49 minutes;
I guess Show of Support is waiting to see the secret records that no one can seem to find. He was fired from his police department for his lies. I don’t know how much more proof they need. I wonder what real wounded veteran missed out on the honor while this phony took it. The Atlanta media is interested in the story again.

Another organization more willing to put their names in the paper by “helping” than actually determining the people they’re helping are legit.
He is under pre-trial release in Cherokee County, GA for felony charges, unless they were reduced. He’s not allowed to have a rifle under typical bond conditions.
I don’t blame the organization, all Shane had to do was own up to his lie when they invited him. But that’s not in his nature.
Do I have to watch the video?

Show of Support and Terry Johnson are just as guilty as Shane Ladner. First for not getting a parade permit and causing the deaths of 4 Veterans and maiming the wife of a lying poser. After seeing the video perhaps she is brain damaged. Can’t imagine going back to the scene of the CRIME for a presentation with a known poser!
@3–Jonn, I would disagree with you, for reasons Hondo already outlined. So many organizations depend on donations rolling in, they HAVE to get their faces out there or cease to exist. While in many cases this is a noble effort, in some it’s more than a bit shady (US Navy Veterans Association, anyone?)
If you’re not making sure the dollars you raise go where they’re supposed to go, and in this case, they didn’t, you need to pack up your tent and find another line of work.

I just read that his charges could lead to up to a year in jail, so I don’t think any of them were felonies. Can anyone add any insight? The Cherokee County courts have him listed but no charges are listed.

Years ago, I was friends with a guy from Spain. His English was excellent but not perfect. Whenver he was faced with a puzzling situation, he would ask, “But how this can be?” And that’s the question I have for ‘Show of Support.” How this can be?
The Show of Support Organization (phone-432-687-2167) is aiding and abetting Stolen Valor. They need to right ANOTHER wrong by asking for the gun back and disavowing Shane Ladner, who BTW was a cop forced off the force due to his lies and charged accordingly.
It looks like the Ladners are now true partners in crime.

@ 11, he was charged with four misdemeanor counts of theft by deception and on count of false swearing (f) and one count of false statements (f).
The felonies might have dropped off prior to indictment, so he might only be looking at misdemeanors at this point. Maybe not. Still, it is pretty common to have a prohibition against firearms for those on pre-trial release for ANY crime.

I rescind my support for Show of Support – apparently they’re bullying everyone who calls saying that there’s “no proof” that Ladner lied. They say that we should be ashamed of ourselves because we believe the NPRC rather than some two-bit lawyer telling wild-ass tales about hospital records and non-existent Fort Benning records. I can maybe – maybe – cut Ladner’s spouse some slack. However, that would require me to believe she has diminished mental capacity due to her injuries. I wouldn’t wish that on very many people on this earth.
If that’s not the case . . . then I have to say IMO she’s being a willing assistant in his deceit. That makes her guilty as well.

@25 After Lsdner’s wife got hurt, I mentally removed her from the equation. Reason: Unless she has tungsten carbide steel for a spine, she will cling to him no matter what he says or does. He’s now HER support, and very few people in her position — crippled — would attempt to move away from their spouse, no matter what they did or didn’t believe about the allegations against him/her.
They are pretty rude.
Show of Support: One more veteran’s charity that is not astute with its funds. I won’t be supporting them. If they are so lax as to feel that this turd has earned a part of the funds/goods that they have solicited, they don’t deserve either my hard earned money, or my good word in their behalf.

WAGA-TV in Atlanta led off the 6:00 PM news tonight with this story, reporter Randy Travis just said, “He should never have been on that float with *real* military heroes.” Travis is not a fan, to say the least, and laid out the whole sordid story in great detail.

Show of Support also honored a friend of Shane Ladner’s a few years prior. Randy Travis outed him too. Charles Cox who lives in Colorado had a resume that looked like he was superman. Wounded and went right back into battle, wounded again and almost lost his leg but worked hard in rehab and was able to return a few months later to continue his mission. In reality he confessed to Randy Travis that he was in an auto accident in Georgia. He got all of the free stuff from Show of Support. Terry Johnson knows what going on and I bet there are a lot of his friends who the public is contributing money for wounded combat veterans and he gives it to his buds. He acts like God and the accident would have never happened if he had only gotten a parade permit. But he owns Midland and I guess he felt Union Pacific should have known his parade was on their tracks. 4 real heroes killed and the posers wife almost dead. Maybe brain dead.

Well, Randy Travis’ story answered the questions about felonies. They’re going for indictment sooner or later. Felonies must have stuck around. They’re probably waiting for everyone in town to forget about him. Not that he’s making that easy.

He just walked away. She was severely injured and of course he sued Union Pacific. She doesn’t know or care what’s happening.
Just contacted the Principals at the Lee and Midland High Schools and asked that they rethink allowing their JROTC program to be affiliated with these guys. Also, heard back from the DA in Georgia and it looks like Ladner has felony and misdemeanor charges, but no pre-trial conditions.
Show of Support has deleted all negative comments from their fb page an added “kiss it fools” There seems to be a largenumber of fake profilescommenting on their site and a lot of “vets” that seem oblivious to issues that piss off real vets. These guys need to be investigated.
It seems to be that it is who you know at this organization Show of Support….maybe some are legit, but from Travis investigative reports they also had another so called combat veteran exposed named Charles Cox and he and Shame were friends. There is more to this….why are they afraid people will see the truths? Maybe Terry Johnson’s donations will go down? I suspect the only reason he had that turd back is due to his wife, but allow the wife to go and scrap him. He is NOT a deserving vet! Facts are Terry Johnson threw a haphazard fling for vets and he and his peeps did not get a permit, now I am sure he has some guilt maybe, also has some fears of being sued and wants to wine and dine all these folks so he thinks that will fix the problem. I just can’t believe vets sitting next to this POS are OK with it???? Please help me understand? Where is the DA on this case…..?
D.a. In Cherokee County, Georgia. Canton, Ga. I would hope that FBI would be interested because of Stolen Valor Act. I know the wheels of justice move slowly, but his attorney, John Cook and Ladner both told the D.A. They had the papers and from what I understand that was months ago. Wish they would ask again.
