When hippies run things
Chock Block sends us a link in regards to the new socialist recently elected to Seattle’s city council, Kshama Sawant, who has big plans for her city – like inspiring insurrection at the local Boeing plant;
On Monday night, she spoke to supporters of Boeing Machinists, six days after they rejected a contract guaranteeing jobs in Everett building the new 777X airliner for eight years, in exchange for new workers giving up their guaranteed company pensions.
Now Boeing is threatening to take those jobs to other states. “That will be nothing short of economic terrorism because it’s going to devastate the state’s economy,” she said.
Sawant is calling for machinists to literally take-possession of the Everett airplane-building factory, if Boeing moves out. She calls that “democratic ownership.”
Yeah, that should inspire Boeing to keep their plant in the city.
Sawant says after workers “take-over” the Everett Boeing plant; they could build things everyone can use.
“We can re-tool the machines to produce mass transit like buses, instead of destructive, you know, war machines,” she told KIRO 7.
Yup, they could probably do that all on their own, huh? Then they could convert that big front yard into a unicorn farm. You know. And they could plant Skittle trees along their runway.
Of course, you really can’t expect a socialist to understand things like economics or capital. If they understood the basic concepts, they wouldn’t be Socialists, would they?
Category: I hate hippies

That squishy sound you hear is my head banging against the wall.
They just do. Not. Get. IT.
Someone should get Phildo’s input considering his contract(s).
“We can re-tool the machines to produce mass transit like buses, instead of destructive, you know, war machines,” she told KIRO 7.
The Boeing 777X is a war machine?
Unfiltered, these people prove their idiocy.
She is also a socialist. So that is two strikes too many.
Bring that plant to Illinois. People here need jobs, jobs, jobs. Chicago ‘GETS’ it. So does Bloomington. So does Springfield.
Oh, yeah, all that equipment the mayor thinks belongs to the factory? Sorry, stupid woman — it’s Boeing’s property, not yours, not the city’s, and sure as hell ain’t the property of your state or anyone but the company that paid for it.
I have seldom heard such hogwash coming out of somebody’s mouth. This is a brand-new level of sheer stupidity.
Ive always wondered if stupid people realize that they are stupid. clearly, they do not
Ex, was that sarcasm claiming chicago “gets” it? i sure do hope so
She wants to re-tool and airplane manufacturing facility to build buses? Sounds like something the Russians have already done and failed at….do none of these hippie turds ever read current events or recent historical documents?
If Boeing moves why does she think they will leave the tooling behind anyway? Or is she proposing stealing Boeing’s property?
What. The. Hell.
@7 Oh Chicago is getting it alright….you just don’t want to be any where near by when they do…
Why should Boeing build a plant anywhere when they already have a nice new one sitting idle in South Carolina?
Hey,hey, what’s wrong with Skittle trees, we have them on our place here in Arkansas. BTW, thanks for reenforcing why all of my ex’s live in (Texas) the Seattle area plus one disowned daughter.
You get what you pay for. And vote for. Apparently, the pain level hasn’t risen high enough yet for reality to take over in Seattle.
Skittle Trees? C’mon, Jonn, think: If they just planted MONEY trees, people could pick the money off and buy all the skittles they want. Or they could buy M&Ms which are much better than Skittles anyway.
I for one am getting sick and tired of the rampant pro-Skittles bias around this place! 🙁
WTF… well not entirely shocked by this, Obama got elected twice to be President.
@Smitty, et al., Pat Quinn (Gov IL) has been working to attract businesses like Boeing to Illinois since his first term, and Rahmbo, the control-freak mayor, wants the same thing in Chicago. That was what I meant by ‘gets it’. Boeing moved its headquarters to Chicago some time ago, in 2001.
And despite what you may think you know, Rahmbo really doesn’t like unions, especially when they think they are his boss. When the teachers’ union went on strike the day after CPS schools opened, he shut down most of the schools and rearranged the school districts.
So what’s next in the PacNW? Taking over Microsoft in Spokane? Yeah, I’d like to see that.(Giggle)
You can blame the unions for this. Greed is a big factor with them.
She isn’t a socialist. She is an admitted Trotskyist Style Communist. Remember that Trotsky was the man who advocates for violence filled revolution to achieve social change.
Also, local right wing media in the Seattle area notes her husband is a M$ executive who clears 100k/yrs and she was released from a teaching position in a Seattle community college because of advocating violence against the Mayor and against the Seattle PD.
Oh and PH2, since the buyout of Boeing by MacAir in the 1990s; the bosses who just plopped a bunch of money on a sweet HQ building in Chicago for MacAir didn’t want it to be wasted. So that is why they moved from the Boeing HQ from Seattle across the street from the delivery center at Boeing Field/King County International Airport.
The kids who drove MacAir into the ground in the late 80s and early 90s are the ones in charge of Boeing.
How the hell did she get elected?
One thing I have noticed with the academic socialists is this; they are really swept away by the “romanticism” of “the struggle”, even though things like the movie “motorcycle diaries” never touches on the reality of socialism/communism, which is violence and murder to achieve their goals. They don’t really go into Che lining people up against a wall and shooting them, but that’s what happened. The academic socialists never look at the violence, only that which fits in their preconceived mental picture of winning the struggle. They never look at the details and human nature. Notice how this doorknob never mentions doing any of the work herself?
She is telling people to steal someone else’s property? Sounds like a socialist to me.
You just can’t fix stupid…
Let her have it! Were I on Boeing’s board, I would vote for it. Just walk away.
Rhambo is only anti union when it is politically expedient for him to be. he was elected with union money to be a “Chicago style” mayor. he is in bed with the unions, and they are willing to let him play politics and pretend to be against them at times when they see it as beneficial to them.
This is why the eastern part of Washington, where I live has long wanted to secede from the western part, along with eastern Oregon and form a new state. We are conservative but do not have the populace to outvote the highly, libtard left side of the state. Their ignorance and liberal dribble is beyond measure. They are old hippie, Green Peace loving a$$holes who think like Kshama Sawant. (name says it all to me) They have kept liberals in state government for the over thirty years I have been here. Illegal aliens flock here because we have one of the most liberal welfare, housing, food stamp, etc. programs in the nation. Boeing is a business working on profit/loss. I don’t want to see the jobs leave the state but that is something for the company and the union to hash out. It is not to be determined by socialist/communist ideals like this dumb b!tch is coming with. Hard to be conservative in this state. She is the typical politician elected in Washington. Yea let’s not make, you know, war machines (LMAO), let’s make buses and ball point pens and environmentally green shit instead. Not a brain one in her head!
@21 Thank you. You said in a few words where the rubber meets the road for this ass wipe Kshama.
I just saw a Google photo of her wearing an Occupy Wall Street sweatshirt. Figures. She is part of the crowd trying to force a minimum wage of $15 per hour. Our state minimum wage is $9.19 now.
How dare you critisize her? She is a professor of economics and far smarter than we can possibly fathom
Sparks,
That was one of her planks for election. Make city of Seattle mandate 15/hr minimum wage just like Sea-Tac. Though by last word, Sea-Tacs minimum wage proposal was going down like a $20 dollar French companion.
@28 LMAO and you are right. She is typical Washintonian left side, limousine liberal. Take from everyone who has and give to those who will not work or do for themselves. I like my part of the state and I hate even driving over to the Seattle area. Even the radio stations bug the hell out me.
Anyone count how many times a day/week she stops at a coffee house to get a latte or whatever? Starbucks is, after all, a Seattle spawned-product. It’s a for-profit corporation, not a non-profit charity gig, so if she frequents Starbuck’s she’s the biggest phony on the planet.
Geez, I do long for some of the Good Ol’ Days when people like her were locked in stocks and treated to tomato-egg facials.
Yeah, that Marxian stuff about the proletariat becoming the owners of the means of production tends to get a bit dicey in reality. In political science class, though, it all makes such perfect sense to soft minds.
War machines? Yeah, those 777s are DEADLY…what? Airliners? No bombs? Whaddaya mean Boeing hasn’t built a bomber since the last B-52H rolled out in 1962? Gotta love an elected official who keeps up on current events affecting her jurisdiction.
Retooling? Retool what? Boeing’s gonna strip everything down to the plumbing. “Retool” an empty slab with a leaky roof over it? Yeah, have fun with that, comrade. Oh by the way, Boeing still owns the giant empty shed they leave behind, so unless you plan on buying it, you ain’t doing shit with it.
And what will you build? Buses? Better cough up licensing royalties for the original designers. Wanna design your own? Every component that goes into it is patented, so that’s gonna cost you even more money, snowflake. And then what? Give ’em away? Great business model! Your beloved Proletarian employees will LOVE working for free while you jack up their taxes to pay for your utopian workers’ paradise.
If the Boeing employees’ union supports this Stalinist idiot, fuck ’em. Let ’em reap what they sow.
By the way, she was a Brahmin class Indian who married an American, became a US citizen, and then she and he parted ways. My guess? She stopped shaving her legs and armpits and refused to use deoderant of ANY sort.
@32 Thank you, well said. Especially about the union’s stiff neck.
@33 ROFLMAO!!! Thanks Air Cav!
You sheeple have all been taken over by the military industrial complex. Like she says, after the workers take over the Boeing plant, we can stop producing war machines and start producing buses and things! After all, the B777 that this factory produces has been America’s greatest tool in oppressing the world! Who can say how many Afghan children have died in arc-lights delivered by Boeing 777? Who can say how many nuclear bombs stand waiting to be dropped on the world by Uncle Sam via Boeing 777? Yeah, like she said-peace, love, harmony, communism, and public transit!
Ex-PH2: I was going to answer your question in comment 18 by referring to the fact that she ran in the People’s Republic of Seattle. But others already pointed that out.
2/17 Air Cav: yeah, unions are funny about wanting to be paid and being reluctant to give back, even in exchange for part ownership in a company or when the company is in extremis. Ask the former Bakers’ Union folks that used to have jobs with Hostess how that goes.
If she really wants to “take over” Boeing she should have told workers to buy up as much of Boeing stock as they could, urged the union to help, and have the city pension fund do the same. That way they BECOME the owners of Boeing and can tell Boeing what it can do.
Of course that means using your own money to bring about the change you want. Heck,if she pushed it buying Boeing could become a movement or cause on Daily Kos or Democratic Underground.
(750 million shares, if they get control over ten percent they have a big say, keep in mind the liberal pension funds out there would side with the “buy Boeing movement” and they likely own twenty percent now)
Yeah, Hondo, do you think the Bakers Union is welcome at the company that bought up the rights to produce Hostess products? I don’t.
@34 Glad I could help. But honestly I think the honorable Puncher of Pygmies offered the best summation of the problem in comment #21.
You can’t make this shit up.
Weapons Grade Stupid!
I should send this chick a copy of Atlas Shrugged
Am I allowed to advocate violence against her?
I mean, fair is fair, right?
This bullshit, right here, and an enlistment contract are the reasons why I left that area and don’t miss it in the least. The Seattle area wasn’t too bad, libtard wise, in the early 80’s but then some asshole had to publicize that it was the best place to live in the country and all the tree hugging batshit crazies from california moved in.
I love Seattle. I love that my job gets me out there via Fort Lewis. You people making fun of the skittle trees have never known the pleasure of skittles straight from the tree while a wannabe rhasta that smells like a three day dead carney panhandles you for coffee money. Much like America, a majority of the population voted for this loony tune, so they, like America, deserve what they get. Hopefully Boeing and even Microsoft are so put off by these idiots they pack up and leave. Nothing like some economic pain to make the majority realize they are idiots. It does make one root for the Tsunami.
Not all of the people you disagree with are hippies, in fact they are mostly voters! That is why the conservatives are always trying to figure out ways to stop american citizens who have a right to vote from voting! They so no they really want to stop illegial aliens from voting even though they can’t find any who have! Though they do find convicted republican fellons who have voted ;but doesn’t prosecute republican fellons as they need every vote they can get!
Socialists: Because having sense is, like, you know, “racist,” maaan!
VWP–not all dipshits are hippies, but all hippies are dipshits.
Now go suck start a fucking howitzer already.
vietnam war protestor. You don’t know shit about protesting. In fact, you may be a phoney protestor. What are your bona fides? How and where did you protest? When did you last bathe?
