Chelle Lynne Anderson-Tesla; female pretender pilot

| November 5, 2012

Meet Chelle Lynne Anderson-Tesla who is currently a major in the Civil Air Patrol in Virginia and assigned to HQ, VA Wing as Director of Aerospace Education. She got that job because she represented herself as combat-wounded Army Aviation Captain, and a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot. Of course, she’s here on TAH, so you already know that none of that is true.

She was a PFC Air Traffic Controller for less than two years;

I don’t know how she got a Good Conduct Medal with less than 3 years service, but there it is.

She claims that she earned a Purple Heart when her Blackhawk was shot down in Iraq and, of course, because of that incident she claims she suffers from TBI and PTS. but, as her records show, she’s never been to Iraq;

She also claims that she had enlisted time before she went to OCS. So, I thought I’d give her time to prove that to her unit who has confronted her with this information, in case the NPRC’s records were deficient. But I’ve just heard that she’s resigning from CAP “because of all of the politics” which means there won’t be any proof forthcoming. So mainly, this post is to prevent her from pulling the same scam in another state when it hits the search engines.

Just A Grunt

She arrived in Germany in Feb and was discharged in Apr? Sounds like chapter action to me.

Ex-PH2

PTS — part-time shithead?

TBI — to be invented?

Lasertech

I had the Army screw up my GCM as well. The date range was from before I even signed up and I could never get it corrected. So, I ended up with a third award with only 8 years in.

Just an Old Dog

I got my first GCM put in my record book six months early. They went by my PEBD/ Delayed Entry Date rather then when I started Active Duty. I rember my Platoon Sgt telling me to make sure and be squared away for formation because I was getting my GCM. I was smart enough to know it was bogus so I told the 1st Sgt and they corrected it.

@1 Just a Grunt – kudos to the Army, then, if she was chaptered out so quickly. Depending on the unit and the seriousness of the misconduct, it can take some USMC units up to a year to get someone booted. Leaves me to wonder what she was up to while at Ft. Leonard Wood prior to her arrival in Germany? During my time with the Marines, sh1t-birds were occasionally transferred to one unit to another, only to have their history/drama follow them because someone in the previous chain-of-command wouldn’t do the paperwork. It was easier to call the monitor (Navy calls it “detailer”, I think) and get orders than start admin separation proceedings.

Back to the poser, it’s apparent she had some intelligence because she went to language school and ATC, which takes some brains. She probably could have gotten that job or another one of equal pay without padding her resume. Personaly I wouldn’t hire her ass to flip burgers now.

Green Thumb

At least posers are diverse.

Weak.

Twist

She must of seriously stepped on her…well whatever females step on when they mess up…..to get chaptered in under 3 months. The only time I ever saw a chapter go that fast was after the gay kid got beat to death in the barracks at Ft Campbell. After that all a Soldier had to do was say they where gay and they would be out of the Army in 72 hours.

Blackshoe

She definitely looks suspicious with that few ribbons on an Air Force (-ish) uniform.

NHSparky

Showing up to threaten Jonn with “lawer” and sue for “libelslander” in 3…2…1…

Old Trooper

@1: She arrived in Germany in Feb 2001 and was discharged in Apr 2002, so roughly 14 months in Germany.

NHSparky

So if I read that correctly, she was driving a vehicle for a year? Yeah, not exactly job-related if she was trained in ATC.

Martinjmpr

@6: According to the record shown, the only “language training” she got was “headstart.” That’s something that every GI who gets stationed in Germany is required to complete as part of their inprocessing. When I went through (in 87) it was a two week course that included enough basic German to be able to read the road signs and find the toilet in a restaurant, and that’s about it. It also includes “cultural training” which may or may not include a “field trip” to some local attraction.

My “orientation” also included a trip to the Iron Curtain at Hof, hosted by the 2nd ACR, but of course that just shows how much of a FOG I am!

AverageNCO

Wow, so many thoughts on this one. One thing I haven’t seen brought up, is that she may have voluntarily gotten out of her enlistment if she became pregnant and had a child.
Also, it’s always been a running debate whether officers in the CAP should be saluted by active duty enlisted members. The legal answer is that they CAN be saluted, but enlisted members are not REQUIRED to salute them. I remember a blog discussion about this on Air Force Times a while back, where a CAP Major, demanded an Air Force NCO salute her. Could it be the same gal? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
And finally, forget the GCM she may or may not have earned. She is wearing an Army Achievement Medal and a friggin Purple Heart. She is not merely telling a tall tale that is protected free speech. She is illegally wearing a medal, which she used to defraud an organization into hiring her. This goes beyond the SCOTUS Alvarez decsion. She committed fraud. Even if it wasn’t a paid position with the CAP, she surely got something of value from her lies.
As we get close to Veteran’s Day, we’re going to see more of these over the next week or so.

OWB

May I borrow your expression GT? Please, please?? (Since this is one in a recycled AF uniform, I take personal offense at this above and beyond the usual disgust at all posers.)

Turd.

pete

these fakes are like cockroaches! ya just can’t get rid of em!

Mustang

Just a note on the GCM. I’m pretty sure this is Army-only but the first award can be given “for the first award for service after 27 June 1950 upon termination of service, for periods less than three years, but more than one year.”

OWB

@ #14: Oh, #e!! NO! NCO’s (or anyone else, for that matter) are NOT required, coerced, or anything else to salute anyone who is not a military member. Have been around various CAP outfits for many decades and none of them have ever been anything other than respectful, some almost to a point of being obnoxious, toward Air Force members. If one of the children running about wearing an outfit similar to what is in the pic above demanded ANYTHING from an NCO, that idiot would be swiftly escorted off base at each of my assignments.

This Guy

Guys, the salute thing is not the issue here. Focus.

Former Grunt

As a former CAP cadet, I sure hope she was quickly taken off the streets and forbidden to have contact with cadets. They are impressionable and will eat up her lies as reality. I remember looking up to any and all veterans, especially those with combat service. This woman didn’t even complete her enlistment yet claims combat service, combat wounds, and pilot status. I hope she gets hers.

martinjmpr

If they’re the “civil” air patrol, why do they wear uniforms and have military ranks? That would seem to set up a situation that is ripe for mistakes or outright fraud.

Chip@NASA

Just FYI I have a MSgt in my unit (retired) that was heavily involved with Virginia CAP both while we were at Andrew AFB and also after he retired. I sent this link to him and asked him if he knows anything about this douchebucket.

Hellboy

Wow… the list is growing so quickly…

This Guy

Thousands of veterans and non-veterans serve in CAP without so much as whisper of a problem. And have for over 70 years. Its a great organization.

This is not about CAP: this is about a person’s behavior.

This is no different the the ARNG LT who claimed to be a SEAL and got caught. Its not the ARNG, its the LT.

Bostonian0311

Rumor has it that this woman is way more batsh!t crazy than just wearing these medals. That remains to be seen, though…

It’s too bad that young men and women who aspire to serve honorably when they are older, and look to CAP adults as mentors, occasionally get duped by massive (literally) piles of worthless human beings like Michelle Anderson-Tesla.

May she never dupe another person with her BS. Thanks TAH!

Nik

Regarding saluting, here’s what I found on the CAP website:
“No, you are a civilian and do not have any obligation to any branch of the military”.

Civilians don’t HAVE to salute anyone.

Rerun0369

Fattest pilot I have seen.

Also, I’d say this appears to be relevant. Her Facebook:

Wedge

wow…just..wow.

Aside from the obvious PH and other ribbons and lying about time in country, what struck me first was that face in an “Air Force” uniform. First thought was “Gotta be a poser, not hot enough!”

Looks like I was right. Should be back in the single wide in no time.

Scotty

Holy sheep shit.. Six rows of ribbons. I think she is trying to out do Colonel Ruby Bradley !!

Old Trooper

@21: They are “officially’ the Air Force Auxilliary and I had seen them buying stuff in Clothing Sales, when I was in.

This Guy

There have been claims on FB and elsewhere (high school page) of “Flying for the Presidential Service” (orientation flight with cadets on the C-40A that flies Mrs. Obama around, not exactly “I’m a crewmember”), those are aviator wings (there are other photos around the ‘net of her in uniform with ’em. She rates the aviation badge per her MOS, but not aviator wings), she’s doesn’t rate the AAM, Iraq Service, GWOT or even, per her records, the NDSM.

If you start googling around her various names (Michelle L Anderson, Michelle A. Tesla, Michelle Anderson-Tesla, Chelle Anderson, etc) you will find a broad web of lies and deceit.

Mustang

@30 Best line I’ve heard today.

LebbenB

For the life of me, I still don’t get why these folks do shit like this. Since I’ve been reading and contributing here this is the first CAP guy/girl I’ve seen. A dubiius “first” for her if it is.

Twist

She single handidly squased the “hot airforce chicks” rumor.

Qwertyne

She was at Giebelstadt Germany. That was a great post till it closed in 2006.

Charles

First off the CAP is the Civil Air Patrol is also known as the USAF Auxiliary. They are the only Civil Defense organization left over from WW2, that wasn’t eaten up into FEMA. They are supposed to help augment the Guardsmen in doing their jobs during civil defense emergencies like Big Bad Sandy. That said, as well don’t get wrapped around the axle about the picture with rows of ribbons the CAP gives out ribbons like Pez Candy for everything from making X number of meetings or Y hours provided of public service/civil defense training. So it could very well be that half if not all of those were ribbons awarded during her time in the CAP.

That said if my memory serves me right you can be auto advanced to certain ranks via prior mil-service. If this is wrong then you can be subjected to penalties from the central HQ for the CAP along with potential criminal penalties as well.

This Guy

There is no indication she attempted to use prior service for advanced grade in CAP. The “I was a helicopter pilot who got shot down in Iraq” story has only come out in the last 12-24 months.

Any Texas Wing CAP folks know if there was representation of this in Texas?

UtahVet

OK, I’m gonna be the non-PC guy here and point out the obvious.

MAN THE HARPOONS!!

There is no way she could be a blackhawk pilot. Those aircraft have weight limits. I like my women like I like my beer – thick. But this one breaks the damn scale.

LebbenB

@ 39, Are you saying her story would be more believable if she said she flew shithooks?

This Guy

Guys, is not about the weight. Its about the behavior: Bogus Purple Heart claim, bogus Aviator claim, bogus other awards. CAP’s weight standards are different (and I don’t know where she falls). I weighed 50 lbs more than I did on active duty. Age happens, ya know.

Thats not the factor here: the fake claims are.

UtahVet

#41 This Guy

From the pic it looks like CAP’s height and weight standards are the same as the Kuwaiti military.

Whiskey Six

So the civil air patrol let her resign instead of firing her? That is some weak sauce. Major Marie Rossi must be turning over in her grave at Arlington.

This Guy

#42: The standards are more relaxed than the AF standards. Without putting someone on a scale, its hard to tell. I know people who hide 20-30 lbs pretty good.

#43: Maj Rossi was my XO many years ago. She died with a friend of mine as her co-pilot. I wholeheartedly agree.

kp32

Has the Civil Air Patrol been notified that there is a poser in their midst?

Twist

#44, You say the AF has height and weight standards? 🙂

H1

Her facebook photos albums have to totaled motor vehicles.
Mobile uploads (rollover and shiney side down) and goodby atomic cucumber (on top of force protection pilons)
Wow.

H1

“two” vehicles.

Yes, CAP has been notified.
