Protests grow more pointless by the minute
I think those goat ropers in the Middle East are just running out of targets and realize that the violence they’ve spawned is just as pointless as the rest of us have thought from the beginning. From Fox News;
Protesters reportedly broke into the German Embassy in Sudan — pulling down its emblem and raising the Islamic flag — and demonstrators in Lebanon burned Kentucky Fried Chicken and Arby’s restaurants while chanting against the pope’s visit to Lebanon.
At least one protester was killed and 25 were injured in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli after clashes between police and protesters over an anti-Islam film, security officials said.
In Egypt, protesters in Ciaro’s Tahrir Square could be seen carrying a 4-foot-tall poster of Usama bin Laden, and graffiti reportedly found on the U.S. Embassy there read: “Take care America. We have 1.5 billion bin Ladens.”
Well, we killed bin Laden, so, do you really want to make that comparison?
The Germans, The Pope, Arby’s, KFC? They have even less to do with the stupid movie than anyone at the embassies. It’s like an entire area of the world are armed retarded children.
The protesters, who gathered after weekly Muslim Friday prayers, tore up an American flag and waved a black, Islamist flag through the streets. When protesters tried to move toward the embassy, they were confronted by lines of police who fired tear gas.
“With our soul, our blood, we will avenge you, our Prophet,” they chanted.
I guess going to prayer had nothing to do with the protests, though. Anyone bother to ask what anyone has done that needs to be avenged, per se?
But Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia, a branch of the international network that advocates a worldwide Islamic state, on its website blamed the U.S. government for allowing the film to be produced and released, calling it “an act of barbarism that cannot go unpunished.”
Yup, allowing people their right to free expression is more barbaric than burning down your hometown and killing innocent people.
Of course, it probably doesn’t help that the Obama Administration has focused more on apologizing for the film than the violence it has caused in their speeches. These dirt peddlers know what they can do to gain the sympathy of our government. It’s going to be a shock for them in January, I hope.
Category: Terror War
Damn not the KFC.
Al qaeda must be quite satisfied at all the havoc they caused. They knew exactly which buttons to push and how to ‘motivate’ the masses to engage in senseless violence against American symbols.
I’ll bet the Occupiers are jealous.
Jonn, I stole your quote
“The Germans, The Pope, Arby’s, KFC? They have even less to do with the stupid movie than anyone at the embassies. It’s like an entire area of the world are armed retarded children.”
KFC sounds really good
The protests in Libya and in Cairo were less about that bad film than they were about lack of jobs and money. The fact that the protesters in Sudan were climbing over razor wire on the walls (looks like razor wire) to get to the German embassy itself says that it’s not about the film — that was just a flashpoint — but about lots of other things.
I think there is more to come — much more.
I’m concerned about Bo being on the campaign trail in Las Vegas instead of at his desk when this kind of thing is going on. I’m appalled at the ‘gossip girl’ behavior of the reporters at Romney’s brief press conference. They are nothing but amateurs when they do what they did. They are not journalists.
There just has to be an aspirin factory that can be hit. There just has to be. Maybe Obama can tweet one of his buds in the ME and find out where it is. I know that with all the fundraising, appearing on Letterman, apologizing to his brother Muslims, and declaring that Egypt is neither an ally nor an enemy, he does not have the time to attend an intel briefing to learn precisely where that factory is. SOB.
I’m still waiting for instupid to show back up and explain how this is all just peaceful protesting and that WE’RE the violent ones.
Please. I am hoping that he stays exclusively on one thread so I know which one to avoid. Doesn’t know whether he ETS’ed as an E1 or E5. He should be banished for that BS alone.
Here’s another Islamist attack, this time in Kenya, but it was thwarted, from this morning’s news:
http://pheedo.msnbc.msn.com/click.phdo?i=46628c207223fc2a132fcb3efa9661df
Did any of you check the satellite shots of the bases around Isfahan? All those helicopters sitting in wait for a “go” signal. Any chatter on that? Does anyone besides me think that this is a distraction from a planned attack on Israel by Iran? Just asking.
The real question is did they eat any of the chicken or the beef before they attacked? I can see attacking Arby’s, but KFC? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I seem to remember that the Libyans kill Americans back in 1986 under Regan. He ended up bombing their ruler’s palace. For the next 25 years, nothing… then Obama apologized…
Thank you politicat for your facebook posts.
Ex-PH2, you are not alone in your line of thinking. I have a gut feeling that Iran is behind this. Why would the movie maker claim to be from Israel? Wasn’t it Iran that brought this movie to the attention of the Muslim world? If he is even bothering to meet with them I hope his National Security Advisors are bringing these questions up to the President.
They burned down a KFC?! Oh hell no! Kill them all!!! I’m having too much fun with this.
@11, assuming he makes the meeting today…or this week sometime. Maybe after the election would suit his schedule better…
Well, I wonder how long it will be before someone tries to strongarm the Arby’s or KFC corporate board into disavowing the notorious movie that started all this nonsense . . . .
Since the attack on the KFC, I’ve heard that General Admission has given deployment orders to Colonel Sanders. He will be assuming command with Major Appliances as his operational officer and Capt America will have tactical control on the ground…….
Just saying…what good does taking out the KFC do? As a side note, I heard their last batch of chicken strips were the new “smokey” flavor.
Ok that settles it…I’ve heard enough!!
I’m getting some KFC
I would SO love to see a unit of private security contractors hitting the ground and surrounding that KFC. Little red and white berets and the Colonel’s smiling mug for unit patches.
Those affiliated with al qaeda must be quite content at all the destruction and hatred they inspired among the ignoramuses. They used the internet to their advantage quite effectively.
And so the ‘intrigue’ with the movie continues. Some thought it pointless to question the background of the movie and the way it was publicized recently. But looks more and more like it does have some relevance, no?
“…I heard their last batch of chicken strips were the new “smokey” flavor.”
Classic
As long as the Islamists stay away from Chick-Fil-A.
And, if this movie is so offensive, why hasn’t the LSM been asking why Youtube did not pull the video?
And, @#7, he knows.
I should read Drudge before I post.
http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/09/white-house-asked-youtube-to-review-antimuslim-film-135586.html
But, the White House just wants a review? I can imagine, the “review” will consist of Youtube asking, when do you want it removed.
As Politically Incorrect as anything I’ve ever seen or imagine that I ever will see, but I also thought quite funny.
WARNING! Not for squeemish! If you click on the link don’t bitch!
http://www.theonion.com/articles/no-one-murdered-because-of-this-image,29553/?ref=auto
Oh the title of the link is No One Murdered Because of This Image.
“The White House asked YouTube to review the video to see if it was in compliance with their terms of use,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said in an email.
There is a video of a teenanger shooting jelly beans out of his ass on YouTube!
Jay … reference that video first then ask for a review!
Just saw the president’s press secretary on the news and the official line is that the demos are only about the movie, completly ingnoring what happened in Libya.
#11 I do not think he is meeting with his NSA people he is too busy.
Insipid, Since you gave warning I won’t bitch, but man what has been seen can never be unseen.
LOL Twist, i warned ya!
What is going on with you people?? I go to Walgreen’s because they’re having sale and I have coupons, and leave MCPO in charge and then I come back and find that all hell has broken loose?

That’s it! It’s Friday. That means field day. You guys are gonna look just fine with mops in your hands. I want to see some shine on them there vinyl tiles before you all go recon in search of an undisturbed KFC. And you’d better bring me some Colonel’s strips and potato wedges, too.
Insipid, in view of that piece of artwork, I retrieve all previous comments. Kudos.
Insipid, that’s a horrid picture, but it makes a very good point.
Hey guess who decided to finally get a Daily Briefing? http://www.whitehouse.gov/schedule/president/2012-09-14
Well, LT. Fuzz, the press secretary had to say something, Anon.
Ah! Lest I forget: the guy who produced, directed and wrote the script for the film in question is not Israeli. He is Egyptian, living in Los Angeles, has been arrested for fraud, and is in hiding. Dead meat on a fork.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/49014660
I think he should be sent to Cairo. He really needs to talk to the imam.
@32 Who he probably needs to talk to is the head of the Coptic Church in Egypt. You can just bet those folks are going to pay a high price for that connection in all this nonsense.
@31- Even on Days where Obama doesn’t have a PDB he still reads the full report. He just has a different leadership style than GWB: effective.
http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/09/13/13842406-man-behind-anti-islam-film-reportedly-is-egyptian-born-ex-con?lite
http://www.timeslive.co.za/entertainment/movies/2012/09/14/anti-islam-movie-maker-may-be-a-bank-fraudster
“Demonstrations against the film have also flared in Egypt, Yemen and other Muslim countries, with US embassies again the targets of popular anger among Muslims questioning why the United States has failed to take action against the makers of the film…”
[Why should they take action against the makers? It’s not like it’s a snuff film or anything, freedom of speech right? And for the record they are investigating this “Bacile” character, NOT because of the content of the movie, but because he may have violated parole conditions where he was not supposed to post anything online on the internet, which in fact it looks like he did with putting trailers of the movie on Youtube]
Adding to the incendiary nature of the film was the fact that it had been promoted by a US-based Egyptian Coptic Christian activist who said his intention was to highlight discrimination against Egypt’s Coptic Christian minority. Copts have expressed fear the film could lead to retaliation.
[So this Bacile character, in order to ‘highlight discrimination against Egypt’s Coptic Christian minority,’ decides to make a movie. And in that movie, he deliberately misleads the original cast members and staff by dubbing in highly inflammatory dialogue about mohammed post production. And then promotes the video on Youtube this past July, and then conveniently hides in the United States while innocent Americans abroad get murdered and violent protests against American symbols continue. WTF, over?]
insipid: not exactly my cup o’tea, but the image (and the Onion) makes a very valid point. Crudely, perhaps – but effectively.
I wish I could remember which of those is supposed to be the “Religion of Peace” . . . .
I’m sure many Americans are bamboozled, wondering what the freak is going on, where did this madness all suddenly come from.
The immediate impression is that it’s simply a bunch of islamo loonies protesting some obscure video, with the expected backlash against islamic religion and arguments back and forth.
But the origins of the video itself, and the way it was changed and promoted, gives me an unsettled feeling.
I think it is looking more and more like the maker of this movie is an Egyptian copt christian looking to deliberately antagonize muslims and the islamic religion. Apparently he wanted to make this kind of movie back in 2009 before he ran into trouble with the law. And in order to prevent any suspicion or hassles when making this two bit production, he misleads the cast and crew. Only in post production does he dub the dialogue and edit the scenes to make it more offensive to muslims. Then promotes the video on youtube this past July. Al qaeda types notice this film, and use that to their advantage.
“Bacile” then realizes how much damage his actions caused, then goes into hiding. All this while hiding out in the U.S. while innocent Americans abroad get murdered.
WTF
@#34, if what’s going on now is what you call effective, I’d really hate to see your definition of incompetent, or ineffective.
I think its called leading from behind.
@TMan, I think that’s close to the mark myself.
@39 It’s doing something from behind, anyway…
How could it not get more pointless? Look at the rioters, they live in 3rd world shit holes, have 7th century mentalities and probably no more than 2nd grade educations! all they know is what they’re told by some lunatic imam or some whacked-out al-qaeda leader. They’re rabid dogs.
@38- They’re not protesting anything President Obama did, they’re protesting a stupid movie. I think Osama Bin Laden would tell you President Obama is WAY more effective than “I don’t know where he is… I don’t spend that much time on him” Bush or “He’s not worth moving heaven and earth” Romney.
Insipid – you can’t have it both ways. If you want to claim the Prez offed bin Laden, when people protest and say “there are a billion bin Ladens” etc you take the heat. You can’t say “he led the way” and then try toargue he wasn;t involved. Although, to be frank, it would be somewhat closer to the actual facts.
#43 Insipid
” I think Osama Bin Laden would tell you President Obama is WAY more effective …”
Amusing … in a two cylinder, low octane kind of way …
@44- So do you want the GOP to take credit for all the stupid shit said and all the stupi signs written at Tea Party rallies?
Just my humble opinion but I believe that this has been brewing for a while after the killing of Bin Laden and that they (Iran, AQ, Hamas, or whoever) is using the movie as the flashpoint. So by giving the go ahead to take out OBL, you can argue that this is because of something President Obama did.
On a side note, have they torched a McDonalds yet or anything more that had absolutly nothing to do with making the movie?
Want proof what this is about????? THIS:
Syrians protest anti-Islam movie at U.S. embassy
DAMASCUS, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) — Hundreds of Syrians staged a sit- in before the U.S. Embassy in the capital Damascus on Friday, protesting against the U.S.-commissioned film “The Innocence of Islam” which abused Islam and Prophet Mohammad.
** “The protest has more moral value as the United States had closed the embassy and pulled out its ambassador in February.” **
@37. “I’m sure many Americans are bamboozled, wondering what the freak is going on, where did this madness all suddenly come from.”
It came from the consequences of the 2008 election and, yes, many Americans rightfully feel bamboozled.
I saw a good quote somewhere the other day: “Bush created enemies… Obama created monsters.”
