Cole Allen, 31, from Torrance, California, opened fire at the Washington Hilton Hotel. This was where the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was being held. President Donald Trump and the others are safe, but the dinner was cancelled for the night. Trump said that he “fought like hell” to resume the dinner, but indicated that it would be rescheduled. One of Allen’s activities involved developing games, one of them was a first shooter game. This is a developing story.

From Fox News:

The man accused of opening fire at the Washington Hilton Hotel during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner has been identified as Cole Allen, 31, a computer scientist from Torrance, California who went from designing first-person shooter games to becoming an alleged shooter himself.

According to his LinkedIn profile and online records, Allen’s life and career trace an accomplished path as a computer scientist, engineer and independent game developer, even building a shooter role-playing game called “First Law.”

In September 2013, according to his online profile, he enrolled in the highly competitive California Institute of Technology, known as CalTech, to pursue a BS in mechanical engineering, graduating in 2017. CalTech confirmed to Fox News Digital that a student named Cole Allen graduated from the school in 2017.

In the summer of 2014, he wrote that he landed another competitive spot as a summer undergraduate research student fellow at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he said he contributed to astrophysics research.

That summer, his profile says, he created “First Law,” a physics-based role-playing shooter game based on realistic two-dimensional space combat. At CalTech, he also built offensive and defensive robotic systems, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He later made “Bohrdom,” a complex 2-D physics-based video game that he described as a “combination of a racing game with a bullet hell as experienced by self-propelled pinballs,” released on the popular Steam gaming platform, according to his profile.

Beginning in March 2020, his LinkedIn profile says, he joined C2 Education, a tutoring company, enrolling at California State University, Dominguez Hills, in 2022 to pursue an MS in computer science, graduating in May 2025. That school also confirmed that a person by the same name graduated with a master’s degree that year.

A Dec. 30, 2024 Facebook post from C2 Education congratulated “Cole Allen of C2 Education Torrence on being honored as December teacher of the month.” A photo matching that of Allen was attached to the post.

According to Federal Election Commission records, Allen donated $25 to Kamala Harris during the 2024 election cycle.

The 48-hour rule is invoked, and may be extended to the 96 hour rule.

For a guy who went to CalTech he certainly didn’t think shit through very well.
Then you have the usual dipshits either trying to distance themselves from their, “Trump is literally Hitler!” rhetoric or doubling down on the shit.
Either way they both need extensive recalibration.

He learned really quick that FPS’s (first-person shooters for us non-gamers) don’t equate to real-world training and police response. I spend too much time reading YouTube comments, and it’s funny when someone comments on a Forgotten Weapons video about how many “kills” they got with a particular gun when they served in “X” unit, referencing a video game, especially when the Stolen Valor Online Enforcement Agency comes out in droves without getting the reference. “Who’d you serve with, no one got 500 kills in Iraq.”

People like this, and the kid whose brains baked into the rooftop, and the golf course weirdo with the world’s worst SKS desecration, have got to know that their chances of taking Trump out of the picture are very slim. Rooftop kid had the best chance but killed a completely innocent bystander instead. I really think that it’s more a mental disease, exacerbated by the instant infamy that online “news” and social media sources generate nowadays, that motivates these people to see how close they can get.

I see Sapper3307 just posted an accurate picture of how the media will doubtlessly describe the shooter. He looks mixed, so let’s say he’s got one White grandparent. He took a shot, so he’s White. Obama, on the other hand, being 50/50, was America’s First Black President. Odd how that works. Queue a “thorough” background investigation revealing this guy’s service in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Delayed Entry Program for 1.5 weeks back in 2015, after stellar service in the Civil Air Patrol for a one-hour orientation when he was 14. A White military veteran, doubtlessly with PTSD from all the Covenant he killed in HALO years ago.
