Is the US going to drop a big one on Iran?
The kind of American bombers that were sent to the UK and to Diego Garcia is causing people to speculate as to what comes next for Iran. The Trump administration has hinted that the “big one” was coming, and that things were going to ramp up. The British Prime Minister had initially refused to allow US assets to use UK military installations but then he later adjusted his position.

The US Air Force’s heaviest bombers are expected to arrive at British bases within hours, suggesting that Donald Trump’s mega-attack on Iran that he dubbed the ‘big one’ is imminent.
America’s stealth air fleet including its B-1s, B-2s and B-52s are said to be on their way to Diego Garcia in the Chagos Islands and RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire.
The strategic bombers, costing up to $2billion each, can carry out long-range missions without detection while carrying the world’s most devastating missiles.
Sources have suggested that Saturday could be D-day for a new gigantic bombardment – exactly a week after America and Israel first attacked Iran as part of ‘Operation Epic Fury’.
The US President warned Iran this week that the ‘big one’ was coming, adding: ‘We haven’t even started hitting them hard. The big wave has not even happened’.
And US defence secretary Pete Hegseth said overnight that America will now use British RAF bases to ‘dramatically’ up its strikes on Iran after the Prime Minister allowed the Americans to launch defensive strikes from UK-US bases.
‘When we say more to come, it’s more fighter squadrons, it’s more capabilities, it’s more defensive capabilities, and it’s more bomber pulses more frequently’, Mr Hegseth said.
After a delay that saw Trump claim that Sir Keir Starmer was ‘unhelpful’ and is ‘no Winston Churchill’, the UK is now letting the US use British bases for ‘defensive’ strikes against missile facilities in Iran.
Experts believe some American bombers could drop the ‘Mother of All Bombs’, a 10-tonne explosive that creates 1,000ft holes in the ground, taking out tunnels and bunkers while simultaneously pulling infrastructures such as bridges down into the giant crater.
Last night he warned the Iranian soldiers to ‘surrender or die’ after US raids took out Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and much of his military leadership.
And today central Tehran was hit with one of the biggest explosions of the war so far on Friday.
There were deafening bangs and multiple plumes of smoke and fireballs as a huge payload hit the Moqaddad base of the Revolutionary Guards. Tehran’s famous Azadi Tower can be seen in the centre of a video as the bombs rained down on the Iranian capital.
Debris was thrown across the city centre and some witnesses even claimed have seen bodies thrown up more than 100ft in the air.

It’s Da Bomb!
Unfortunately, that purported image of children in Houston is believable.
There are a number of mosques in town, and some months ago some immam was going around telling store owners to quit selling things he considered haram.

Once upon a once I had a coworker who was from Iran. He left before he got drafted into the Iranian Army. I had to ask about the children who marched into battle to set off the land mines. If they were promised paradise, why didn’t the ayatollah lead the way? Why did he hide in his perfumed palace? My coworker could only agree with me.
IIRC, those children were given large plastic keys and told they were the keys to Islamic Heaven. And recently dead Ahmedinajad was the creator of that scheme to motivate the children to walk into Saddam’s minefields.
I ain’t saying nuthing but…maybe we have non radioactive technology…..remember the Neutron Bomb from Jummy Carter in the 1980s?
Neutron bombs were very small and have a very limited fatal “blast” range, usually under a mile radius where the neutrons are effective. This is one of the many reasons that all remaining neutron bombs were disposed of after the Cold War.
A large neutron bomb functions about the same as any other nuclear bomb.
The idea on their use was to use a bomb to block the Fulda Gap and kill Soviet armor crewmen by way of example. Then a couple of days later you could move safely back through the area in a counter attack.
The ‘Neutron Bomb’ AKA Enhanced Radiation Warhead was first deployed in the 50’s aboard the Nike series of air defense missiles. When the Nike batteries were deactivated, the warheads went to storage.
Moving forward to the glory days of the Reagan admin, the Persing II IRBM’s were deployed to the UK and FRG. LO and behold, the Enhanced Radiation Warhead made a very public return to the world stage.
Surrender how and to whom? Hate quoting the Sun Tzu book of sayings and stuff about war but;
They will keep fighting if they have no outlet for escape because that is their only choice. This isn’t the Iraqi National Guard surrendering to drones. There is literally nobody to surrender to. Nations don’t typically surrender until many of the soldiers surrender. Not that it matters because there doesn’t appear to be anyone in charge.
All this nonsense the
SECDEFSECWAR keeps talking about “no mercy” is putting him at risk of getting hauled in front of international court for actual war crimes. Many might interpret it as violations of the Hague Convention (Article 23), Customary International Humanitarian Law (Rule 46)He is already under scrutiny for the alleged double tap on the drug runner boats killing those in the water. He really needs to make some clarifying comments and give Iranian soldiers an off ramp, for which they currently have none.
It would be inconsiderate of us and improper to deprive the Iranian military personnel of their opportunity to die a glorious death and become martyrs for their cause. Martyrdom is their offramp.
I didn’t know the iran had an army, I thought that those peeps that killed the demonstrators in the streets were the army. Found out that their is a military army there the other day….
I would guess it means Lu down your arms. Take off your uniforms and go home.
It’s a “chance” to live. Maybe talk your Battle Buddy into going with you instead of killing you.
