Reminds me of the elementary school teacher who got yelled at for reporting a six year old kid had a gun and the vice principal sent her and the kid back to class without even bothering to check.
The kid then shot the teacher twice.

The VP is now facing felony child neglect charges, which if she is convicted of, could vacate the civil liability of the insurance company.
The wife and I are both teachers. Things like this scare me a bit but not all school districts seem to be that crazy.
If you have an SRO and know of a deadly threat to your school take it to them first and then let your administrator know. In most states they now have a duty to act law that requires at a minimum for them to investigate any such reports.
Administrators often freeze up with such things because it is way outside of their normal duties and something incredulous such as a report of a six year old with a gun might not get the needed attention and they lack the skills to properly handle it anyway.
One of the family’s teachers was proctoring an exam and caught, and reported, a kid cheating. SHE got reprimanded, they said it was her job to prevent the kid from trying to cheat. No blame on the kid at all.
It’s getting worse out there. My wife has one kid who goes from calm to violently attacking other students over the course of a minute. The solution was to give her prizes for acting good for the day.
I had one (he transferred!) that was raised by his parents from central LA. Would take off his thick gold chain and start whipping the special needs kids. Solution was constant in school suspension and his parents just telling him to not listen to us and do what he felt like.
Times are weird out there and kids are getting more crazy. Unfortunately our school admin doesn’t seem keen on keeping up with the times.
