Jane Fonda addresses authoritarianism while referencing loved ones who fought and died for freedom

Jane Fonda appeared with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to address the impacts of President Donald Trump’s policies. She expressed a concern about authoritarianism, about the government’s not meeting the people’s needs, the erosion of First Amendment rights, etc. Fonda claimed that people were being kidnapped and citizens were being deported. Arguing that we are the land of the brave and that many loved ones fought and died for this country, Fonda said that these rights can’t be taken away.

From Independent:

“If the government is not meeting the needs of its people, there’s something wrong, right? We’re seeing things happen that have never happened before. This isn’t like it was in the 40s and 50s. Authoritarianism has made its way into every single nook and cranny of our government,” she said.

“They are kidnapping people. They are legally deporting American citizens.”

The veteran actor also referenced the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis earlier this month after her vehicle blocked a street during an active ICE operation. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has claimed that officers were forced to open fire because Good had “engaged in domestic terrorism.” The incident has led to widespread protests across the country.

“Minneapolis, where they shot Ms. Good–they are shooting people. They are blinding people,” Fonda continued. “All kinds of really, really bad things are happening. And it’s not a question of right or left. I don’t care what party you belong to. It’s a question of right or wrong. Right?

“I think lines are being crossed. And it’s enough. We’ve had enough. Right? We are the land of the brave. Our loved ones fought and many died for these freedoms. We can’t allow them to be taken away from us, because if we let them go, they won’t be there later when we need them back.”

She explained that people need to band together “in solidarity” to protect their rights, adding that “we have to not be alone.”

Ive noticed that all of these people who are complaining about their right being taken away are still around to complain that their rights have been taken away. If we really were fascist, I don’t think we’d hear from them again. Im in Minnesota, and I tell you don’t you dare have a opinion on Minneapolis. Who are the fascist again? Yesterday, I’m at the license branch and a woman is talking about how bad ICE is for shooting that woman because she was married to a Mexican. Such low information people with the right to actually vote. It’s frikin scary. We’re gonna be communist in no time.

Retired Grunt

I meant a different opinion while in or near Minneapolis. Fat fingers.

I was curious about the same things. If you truly live under a fascist regime, you don’t get to bitch about the fascist regime. That applies to the “No Kings” loonies too.

Poor Jane. Still struggling to remain relevant.

If she ever was. Poor Jane, take your meds.

Nope not that. I think it should be more like poor jane, drop dead.

She’s taking speaking lessons from AOC.

Where was this woman when Obama deported hundreds of US Citizens? Opiate nap? It is estimated that the US deports .5-1% of total deportations are US citizens. The parents then take the kids with them when they leave.

Every once in a great while they make a mistake. 2 million removals last year..

But How does this mostly happen? Mostly it is children born in the US to people in the country illegally and then mistakenly given US citizenship.

“It is estimated that the US deports .5-1% of total deportations are US citizens.”

Can I get some clarification on that? How are US citizens being deported? How did Obama deport hundreds? I do not understand.

So now she’s sitting on the illegal immigrant’s equivalent of an NVA anti aircraft gun.

And what’s with “our loved ones fought for freedom” business? I doubt there have been many Fondas in the military.

Only on the silver screen…

Skank has never learned the first lesson of holes. It only seems proper that her harlotry would be featured with Stephen “Vomit” Colbert.

Goddamn your wretched soul, Jane Fonda, it might have been less evil had you been born to the Kennedys or the sister of John Fonda Kerry.

Funny thing, these massive violations of Americans’ constitutionally protected rights haven’t affected me, directly or indirectly. My job takes me all around the region, but I’ve yet to see unmarked SUVs blocking roads and federal agents indiscriminately taking people into custody. Even the various businesses I visit don’t seem to be affected, including the immigrant-owned stores and [gasp] Latino markets.

I don’t dwell on what’s happening in Minneapolis because I don’t have the time to listen to a bunch of biased TDS media “reporting” on it.

Oh, and despite my ignorance, I find it awfully convenient that Minneapolis is in the headlines due to ICE. It’s almost like this was contrived to take away from the fraud accusations. I mean, just a few weeks back, I’m watching YouTube blow up with videos about Nick Shirley’s own video. Then suddenly everyone’s in an uproar over ICE’s presence there. It’s almost as though paid agitators were brought in to distract from the Somali fraud under the guise of anti-ICE demonstrations. Then, when Georgina Floyd FAFO’d, the dumpster fire truly began.

As for Fonda, Sir Mix-a-Lot wanted nothing to do with her in ’92. A man of impeccable taste. She’s been irrelevant for my entire life outside of the workout tapes he referenced in “Baby Got Back”. She should have stayed with the North Vietnamese people she so admired way back when, instead of being burdened by continuing to claim the title of American. I’d say that she’s wholly unqualified to talk about people who’ve fought and died for freedom. If anything, it’s a slap in the face to not only Vietnam Veterans, but to all American families who’ve had skin in the game for defending our nation and its interests.
