Reckless driving near ICE agents leaves motorist dead

Videos are floating around on social media showing an incident between ICE and a motorist that resulted in gunfire. ICE agents approached a vehicle. With one of the ICE agents holding the door, the vehicle moved, looking like it was turning towards another agent as it continued to turn right. The motorist got shot but the vehicle continued on and eventually collided with a parked vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was Renee Nicole Good, 37. Governor Tim Walz has issued a warning order for the National Guard. President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to comment on the event.

“I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota,” Trump wrote, adding that “the woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator.”
Trump said the driver was “very disorderly, obstructing and resisting,” and he claimed she “violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer.”
The victim was identified by her mother as Twin Cities resident Renee Nicole Good, The Minnesota Star Tribune reported.
Trump wrote that the ICE officer appeared to have fired “in self defense,” and said the injured officer is “now recovering in the hospital,” while noting the situation is still under investigation.
Trump linked the incident to what he described as daily threats and assaults directed at federal agents, writing that “the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis.”
Trump urged Americans to “stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers” from what he called a “Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate,” while declaring agents are simply trying to do the job of “MAKING AMERICA SAFE.”
Federal officials said the shooting occurred in a residential neighborhood in Minneapolis during a crackdown by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other federal agencies.
Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement that the motorist tried to run over law enforcement officers and that the shooting was an act of “domestic terrorism.”
McLaughlin said an ICE officer, “fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public,” fired defensive shots, and she said, “He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.”

His poor training, incompetence, and lack of judgment escalated this situation and led to the wrongful death of a US citizen and mother.

So the government is likely going to try to use misinformation and sovereign immunity to protect this homicidal officer.

I watched that video four times in slo-mo. The driver backed up, then put her SUV in drive and hit the gas, so fast that there was wheel spin on the icy street. The officer then drew his pistol as she was headed straight for him. The first shot went through windshield directly at her. I would be surprised if it didn’t hit her in the upper chest. The car grazed him as he stepped out from directly in front of the driver. She demonstrated she was willing to run down anyone that looked like a LEO, thus the second or third shot. With the OODA loop, the officer has less than one half second to decide and act. She was also had been leading the movement of trying to impede the officers with vehicles.
And one more thing; “poor training”?
Three shots, three hits! While having to dodge a 2+ton vehicle being driven by a leftist agitator!
She made herself and her vehicle a threat and the officers responded to the threat. In seconds!
Seems like the training worked.

I also reviewed the video that is on the New York Post, which gives the best angle on what happened. As the ICE Agents approached the vehicle, I can clearly hear the agents order the woman to get out of the car. ICE Agents are Law Enforcement Officers and this is a lawful order they made for their own safety and the safety of the public. That is NOT a suggestion. You no longer have the right to operate your vehicle. You get out immediately and comply with officer orders. There was also an Agent positioned at the 12 to 11 o’clock of the vehicle. The vehicle attempted to go forward despite where this agent was located and, given the past history of radical left agitators using their own vehicles to ram ICE Agents and other Federal Officers, the Agent in question likely reasonably felt that he was at threat of IMMINENT harm. That’s a key word there. It means a lack or delay in action could and often does result in real harm to the officer. It does not even matter if the vehicle is going parking lot speed, it is enough to injure a human’s soft, squishy frame.
Now, besides the point that this shooting will likely be viewed and ruled as justified, what is the objective of Tampon Tim to threaten National Guard activation against Federal Authorities? When she blocked traffic with her vehicle and refused to move, then resisted arrest and tried to flee and elude during which she recklessly accelerated into a police officer she escalated the situation.
This ICE agent murdered her.
She was not trying to run him over. She was not speeding toward him.
She was being given simultaneous orders to leave AND get out of her car. An ICE agent tried to open her door, while another unnecessarily put himself in front of the vehicle.
The officer pulled his gun just as she started pulling forward to go around the officer, rather than taking a step to the side to avoid the risk of being hit, he began shooting into her car.
But even worse, in this case she still managed to avoid the officer and as she was passing him he continued shooting into her vehicle at point blank range. WHILE STANDING ON THE SIDE OF HER VEHICLE.
You can see he was clearly firing from the side of her vehicle…
You cannot shoot into a vehicle to stop a fleeing suspect, unless that suspect is a felon known to be an immediate danger to the public.
She was a mother with stuffed animals on her dash for her children.
And I can’t post video her, but in the moments leading up to the shooting as ICE vehicles approached her car which was parked perpendicular to the road, she was waving them around her can and left plenty of space for them to go around her car.
She was NOT charging at them or speeding toward them and NOT blocking them in.
Unfortunately the video pans to her car and the incident after she was already perpendicular to the officers so it is unclear why she was in the roadway perpendicular to the convoy. Witnesses claim she was trying to do a three point turn to get her vehicle away from the slow moving convoy when thing went to shit.

She and her partner had been following and harassing ICE agents all day. They were trying to provoke a response. They got it.

Look at 3:28 and 4:25 for particulars. He is clearly in front of the vehicle and point his pistol directly at the windshield after she starts moving.
The vehicle wasn’t moving when he stepped in front of it. That was the whole reason they had to deal with the soon to be deceased.

According to her husband she was nowhere near any of the other ICE sites that day, was not involved in any protests, and had just dropped their 6-year old off. Guess that qualifies as ‘Mom’ things rather than professional protester things.

That does not matter. It’s hard for anyone, including that officer, to discern the intent of that woman in the moment. In the past, radical left agitators have used their own vehicles against ICE Agents as weapons. Given that, and how this incident only took a FEW seconds to go from lawful order to get out of the car to officer involved shooting, the Agent’s actions will likely be viewed as justified. Also, there was only a FEW seconds to make a decision that can result in life or death for that officer. Not enough time where you can afford to second guess.

The standard that MUST be applied to these situations is not what you WISH had been done but by the “Reasonable and Prudent Man” principle.

Several court cases have even stripped officers of qualified immunity for exactly this kind of stupidity. Escalating a small infraction or misdemeanor by a suspect into lethal force by stupidly placing themselves in the path of a slow moving vehicle and then firing into the vehicle rather that take a step to the side.
This officer did take a step to the side and still fired into the vehicle as she passed.

I had to be NYS Certified to carry a firearm for 37 years while working for Brink’s and we had to learn part of the NYS penal code going over esculating physical force through the use of deadly force and the types of crimes in acronyms where deadly force came in. In my area we had a deputy shoot a motorist who tried to run him over after a chase. This was during the Floyd protests. They asked the sheriff if the dead guy was armed and the sheriff said; “He was armed with a 4000 POUND automobile” .

Such an order would violate Article 94 against Mutiny and Sedition, the maximum penalty for which is death. Curiously though, even they refused the order and did nothing they also could be found guilty of failing to suppress a mutiny or sedition. As of the morning of January 8, 2026, there have been several significant updates regarding the ICE officer involved in the shooting in Minneapolis.
1. Condition of the Officer
New reports from medical staff at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) indicate that the ICE officer remains hospitalized but is improving. Injuries: He is being treated for multiple fractures in his lower extremities (legs/pelvis) and a concussion.
Recovery: Doctors have stated that while his recovery will be long, his injuries are not life-threatening. He is expected to undergo surgery later today or tomorrow to stabilize the fractures.
Only a mindless psycho or a pure narcissist continues to genuinely insist they are right when all evidence points to them being wrong.
A political stooges will do it as well, just not genuinely.
Funny, unbroken video shows him walking – unimpaired – down to where her car stopped and back, not even limping. He was standing erect as the car went by him and he was shooting. What is the source on this?
Me, I think this is a case that needs to go to court. Could you MAYBE justify the first round,? Ok. The next two rounds were through the open window of the car as she had already passed the ICE shooter, and are NOT justified. See above – video shows the officer still shooting as she had already passed him, when she was no longer a threat. Icy roadside, she just barely started up (when she hit the other cars, her bumper isn’t dented… sub 2.5mph.) I’m neither cop nor specialist, but to me there is reasonable cause to question this one.
Actually, those two shots through the window are fully justified since she still represented a threat to the public, and other officers in the area.
The purpose of the use of lethal force is not to kill, it is to “Stop The Threat”. Since she was still controlling the vehicle, and it was still in motion, and she had already used it as a deadly weapon, she was within the parameters of an “armed and dangerous person”.
A dangerous person doesn’t always have to be on the attack, or facing you for you to used deadly force. They can also be a threat to the public at large. In this case she was.

I agree 100% with that. Patrol Officer safety emphasizes not putting yourself at risk during a traffic stop by avoiding getting between vehicles, in front of or behind vehicles.
However he wasn’t a patrol officer, he was a federal agent and really shouldn’t have been performing the functions of a patrol officer.
This is why I blame the mayor. Two patrol officers likely would have resolved this with little fuss. But the mayor forced them into this situation and he needs to take responsibility for it or otherwise be held accountable.
Alas, we’ll never know.

FBI is fine. The Speration Ordinance (non-cooperation) has been on the books since 2003. In December the mayor expanded it. To work the shooting they would have to cooperate with ICE as well since they are many of the witnesses, supervisors etc.
