Yeah, this tool accrued a lot of “bad time” (AWOL, desertion, etc . . . ).
Based on his entry and discharge dates, he should have 3 yrs 3 mo 20 days of active service. Per the redacted DD214 Scotty posted, he only got 2 yrs 7 mo 28 days of active service credit. That means he had 7 mo 22 days of “bad time”.
Might explain how he got discharged as an E1 with over 2 1/2 years TIG in Sep 1982. I’m thinking either an admin General/OTH discharge or a BCD from a SpCM or GCM. (smile)
Anyone else notice his uber-fake shadow box not only has ribbons in the wrong precedent, but he apparently (big friggin surprise) doesn’t know the difference between 1SGT and MGySgt. That was covered in Phase I of boot; poser turd.

Hack–considering it highly unlikely he ever got to see past PFC, let alone learn to spell it, Sergeant might well be beyond his capability.
Personally, I’d love to know how a Cat IV wonder all of a sudden can figure out trig, windage, bullet drops, etc., which require some pretty decent math skills, and doing it on the fly, no less.
