Ken Kornegger; compact SEAL

| September 12, 2012

Some of them make it so easy. Here’s the Facebook profile of some spooge who calls himself Ken Kornegger;

I’m pretty sure that there aren’t too many Command Master Chiefs in the Navy who graduated from Annapolis and then went on to graduate from the Naval War College. Call me stupid, but I always thought that USNA was a commissioning source for Naval officers.

Here’s our hero. Looks like a real deal SEAL doesn’t he? You can tell from his hat that he’s the real thing.

So, have a ball. Thanks to eddie for the link.

Well at least he contains his lies to university of Florida and not fsu.

Civitas

**Look out! He’s got the reproductive part of a plant!**

“YOU CAN GO TO JAIL IN SOME FOREIGN COUNTRIES WHEN THEY GET YOU FOR TOTING A PISTIL. SEAL OPERATORS JUST BUY A GOOD KNIFE OR KNIVES. CALLED AN EDC OR EVERY DAY CARRY.”

JP

This guy VS Dullass in a spelling bee would be great.

Just Plain Jason

THIS GUY HAS A BEARD!!!! Proof right there he is a seal…I just wonder how well he can balance a ball on his nose?

LebbenB

@52. I have an EDC, too. But mine’s a Glock 19. I guess our Navy SquEAL wasn’t taught to never take a knife to a gunfight.

Hondo

JP: nah, Wittgenfeld’s got him hands down in that department. At least this guy can spell phonetically and seems to be mostly lucid (if dull) otherwise. As for Wittgenfeld . . . see “procecute”.

Curt

@Mr. Wolf- Love the Steve Dallas reference! That would also be post-lobotomy, yes?

FMR PAO

Ummm…isn’t the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and not San Diego, California? Or is that the United States Navel Academy?

Veritas Omnia Vincit

I do like that his LinkedIn profile mentions he works in the feeder department at the Memphis Auto Zone….I guess the SEALs have taken their infiltration techniques to an interesting level in the domestic arena…

I wasn’t aware that Auto Zone had an executive protection division that provided security in danger zones in foreign countries. So I’m not really clear how he makes the “Huge bucks” as he claims in his facebook ramble. Unless the $9.75/hr Auto Zone wages are considered huge in Memphis…

Crotchity Old Bubblehead

I have been following this story all day waiting to chime in.

My neighbor is one of the mucky mucks at Auto Zone. I will have a set down with him and show him this tool’s facebook claims. Will inform you of what he finds out.

Mustang

@61 I’d love to know how that goes.

NHSparky

Naw, be real kids, he’s just doing his best undercover Steven Segal work:

“I’m just an auto parts guy. A lowly, lowly, auto parts guy.”

Then he’ll throw an aerosol can into the microwave and blow the shit outta Gary Busey. Whee.

Hondo

Crotchety Old Bubblehead: if he can confirm a full name and DOB, I’ll be happy to request a FOIA on the tool. Based on some other info I’ve seen, I’m guessing Kenneth is his middle name and that he’s close to 60 y/o – but as of now, I’m not certain.

Damn! Went to check out this dirt bags Facebook page and I get a “This content currently unavailable”. Seems like you guys struck a chord there. :0)

Certainly would be interesting to see what the collective CPO goat locker could cook up for this guy if he is indeed in Memphis!

Anonymous

Appears this guy may have been an AT2 in the Navy reserves. As I find out more I’ll provide.

Hondo

Anonymous: if you’ve got a good name and DOB or SSN, let me know and I’ll do a FOIA request to see what his records say. Full name (first/middle/last) might be enough given the rather uncommon last name.

I’ll have you know that the USNA offers online courses and one of their satellite campuses is in San Diego. Midshipmen no longer have to be physically present in Annapolis at all. (Another satellite is in Hoboken and a third is in Istanbul, both of which are maintained chiefly for foreign-exchange students.) The home campus is essentially a yacht club for Annapolitans and the graduating class hat-toss photo is the same one they’ve been using for about five years now. So, at least in part, our boy’s story is quite plausible.

Hondo

2-17 AirCav: Did you forget the /sarc tag on your comment 68? (smile)

2-17 AirCav

Naw, I’m serious. I learned on the flip side of the matchbook cover that featured “Draw Bambi and win a scholarhip to art school.”

Hondo

2-17 AirCav: “And aren’t ye a bit auld to be a-believin’ in Leprechauns, laddie?” (smile)

USMCRet12

Curious how he outlines his wife’s career… “able to hack into any computer without leaving a trace.” Having checked the BUPERS website, the Navy doesn’t teach computer hacking skills as part of their curriculum – nor do I think they condone such activity from one of their officers. This guy must’ve watched Napoleon Dynamite , and figured that computer hacking skills truly is a “sweet skill” to have.
Lastly, enlisted personnel cannot attend Naval Command and Staff or College of Naval Warfare as those school seats are board selected based on applications. I’m confident the Navy has formal school progression training for its senior enlisted ranks, but officer level schools ain’t one of them.

USMCRet12

…I stand corrected. I don’t think the Navy has a Command & Staff. College of Naval Warfare is in Newport, RI.

Crotchity Old Bubblehead

Next door neighbor rogered up to the mission. Will provide Hondo the requested info when in hand.

Ex-PH2

If any of you read my posts in other places this morning, I may seem a little out of sorts.

You see, the water main is broken, which means that the water to my little house has been shut off and I can’t use the head, so I have to go to McDonald’s instead.

However, I do have an alternative plan that might work.

I have a 5-gallon bucket that I use for bringing cat litter in from the 40-lb. bags in the car.

I can, however, use it as a urinal, put a lid on it and ship same to Kornholer, if any of you want me to do so. I just need his mailing address.

Your comments made me laugh myself into a cranial hemorrhage. Thank you for putting me in a better mood.

Mustang

@72 He also stated that his wife is a 1stLt assigned to his SEAL unit (although it looks like he’s now hidden that).

Hondo

Crotchity Old Bubblehead: much appreciated. Any issue with me contacting you via e-mail to prearrange contact?

#34 – This cake eating civilian says none

Mustang

Anything ever happen with this guy?

Crotchity Old Bubblehead

Keith “Korndog” Kornegger.
Navy, E-5
Aviation Type

And with a look of surprise, NO SEAL or SO experience.

Hondo

Takes a while to get paper back from NPRC, Mustang.

Crochity Old Bubblehead: anything new on ID re: this tool?

Crotchity Old Bubblehead

The above is what my neighbor was able to get. Yahoo shows him on on an HSL-37 reunion page (http://unitpages.military.com/unitpages/unit.do?id=202925) with a photograph of him in uniform.

Hondo

FOIA away on one each “William Kenneth Kornegger”, approx age 60, in Memphis, TN, area.

Len

Bottom line is this to end all the debate. Ken Kornegger was Never in the Navy…….not speculation Facts checked and verified. Never in the Navy….well everything else is also a lie.

Len

Hondo,

That is Keith Ray Kornegger that WAS actually in the Navy and

Hondo

Len:

If you have documentation showing of that, could you send scanned copies to Jonn Lilyea, site owner? Contact info is located under the “Contact Us” tab at the left top of the page.

I’d come to the same conclusion about the Kornegger photo from the HSL-37 reunion – although he looks a bit similar, I don’t think it’s the same guy. Names don’t match, and the guy in the above article is reputedly living in in the Memphis, TN, area.

LCplMIDN

USNA Class of 2000 graduate here. Never heard of Ken Kornegger. I looked him up in our Alumni search (posted above), no Kornegger ever attended USNA according to it (usually pretty darn accurate – even has classmates of mine who died before graduation listed). As I live in Memphis, I know a little bit about looking property information up. I don’t see any Korneggers listed as owning property in Shelby or Tipton County. This guy is a fake, maybe he somewhere served in the military, but he wasn’t at USNA as a Midshipman.

Hondo

LCplMIDN: would it be possible for you to screencap a copy of the USNA Alumni Search Page showing “no results” for any Kornegger at USNA and forward same to the address shown above under “Contact Us”?
