Justice for Trayvon
Old Trooper sends us a link to a local TV station in Pensacola about a Mobile, AL man, named Matthew Owens who was beaten to a pulp by a gang of adults because he yelled at some kids who were playing basketball near his house at night. Owens is in critical condition in a local hospital. But this is the part that “gets” me;
What [Owens’ sister, Ashley Parker] says happened next could make the fallout from the brutal beating even worse. As the attackers walked away, leaving Owen bleeding on the ground, Parker says one of them said “Now that’s justice for Trayvon.”
Yeah, Owens wasn’t the guy who shot Martin, they weren’t even in the same State as the guy who shot Martin, so I guess folks can justify everything they do these days by calling it “justice for Trayvon”. And I suppose it’s not racist to call a random beating of a white guy “justice” for anything.

@5: They have no suspects at this time (shocking), so I doubt there will be anyone that goes to the jug over this.

Sadly this isn’t the first time this is happened (probably won’t be the last). Two black guys jumped a white guy in Chicago last week and told police they did it because they were mad about Trayvon Martin.
There is also other info on the web that indicates there has been trouble in that area before. And there weren’t just men in the attack; a witness indicated there were women and kids there, too.

More of “Obama’s sons” pulling this shit, and the more it’s going to backfire. What galls me all the more about that case is that it received virtually no coverage outside the local area, and not much in Knoxville.
Or you could look up the case of the Straits in Oklahoma. Or the Witchita Massacre. Or Emily Haddock. Or…you get the point.
I said when the Martin shooting first became news that in the age of flash mobs and the knockout king game, it was just a matter of time before a white adult shot a black teenager who seemed to be trying to beat him to death.
The black “community” has had years to get out in front of this. Instead, people are using the logical consequence of their own inaction as an excuse for even worse behavior, being egged on all the while by racist politicians who know racial unrest is one of their few keys to continuing their careers.

As long as people side with their race over justice and doing what is right, this will continue. I prefer associating with people of my race, not merely for the fact that we are of he same color, race, etc. but for the fact that we share similar interests. I can associate with some blacks, even though we may not share similar interest, but in ALL of my experiences, the more blacks there are in a group, the louder the noise level gets. they always try to talk over each other. I seen it at many bases when I was on active duty, in civilian life and at my current employment. I do not understand the concept. If anyone does, please enlighten me. With that said, I am sure that others of other races do this as well, but I notice it more with blacks.
I heard that Owens fired off some racial slurs and the yoots, but that still does not justify a mob beatdown.

@32: I heard, from the reports, that there has been back and forth racial slurs and tension from both sides for a while in that area, but I didn’t see any report that was specific in who said what on the day in question. They did make a point to say that it was coming from both sides in the reports, though.
