Elaine Brower calls the troops ‘Baby Killers’
You may remember that I introduced you to Elaine Brower, the Staten Island Blue Star Mom who runs the area’s Military Families Speak Out chapter, who stood with Matthis when he burned a flag, while shouted something about ‘this what we think of this country’ or something equally childish. She also pays for the blog that Matthis doesn’t use anymore.
Well, on Saturday, Tommy dropped off this video taken out on Coney Island by Elaine Brower in which you can hear her call the military helicopter pilots “Baby Killers”.
Now, Brower’s son, a Marine sergeant, has done more than three tours of Afghanistan and Iraq. Does she think her son is a baby killer, too? Or just the whole military except her son? More than likely, Brower, who opens up nearly every speech with the fact that her son is in the military doesn’t realize that she includes he son in the ‘baby killer’ crowd. Or maybe only Army personnel are ‘baby killers’.
Or maybe Brower is such an idiot that she doesn’t even know what she’s saying these days.

Of note is the fact that James, Elaine, and the rest of the family posed in front of a flag that James apparently carried to A’stan and Iraq. I wonder how James feels about his mom’s flag-burning and “This is what we think of your country” line.
As for James, rather than becoming a homeless PTSD-ridden drug-addled cliche that I’m certain Elaine was rooting for so she could exploit James’ service for maximum agenda building, he is gainfully employed by the NYPD and reupped for another 2 years (and I’m guessing even more since then, since Elaine loves to use his continuing service as a soapbox).
And speaking of cliches: “Baby killer”? Jesus, Elaine, Vietnam has been over for almost 40 years. Time to get some new material.
I thought that permutations of that retarded Mastercard commercial stopped being clever c. 1998, but that aside, the spelling-deficient gentleman in the screenshot above is doing his part in keeping with the “peace movement” tradition of ignoring documented facts in favor of hyperbole.
New York alone is slated to received $5.8 Billion for education (schools, students, teachers and Pell grants) in FY 2011.

I think the reason people like Elaine protest is not just based on their opposition to the war, but a much more key factor that is more personal. Maybe she is mad at her son for his choosing to reenlist? Maybe she feels mad at him and considers his choice to re-up a selfish one and he is not considering the Families feeling, or hers more specifically. Which in truth would make her the selfish one. I think it would be very interesting to hear what her son has to say.
My parents, who are against the wars, and who spoke on my behalf never disrespected Service Members. Also, if I was for the war and wanted to go back, they would have respected that and not act with the gross actions that Elaine has shown time and time again.
