James Michael Waldby; the scam continues
Earlier his week, a good lady in Reno, Nevada contacted us when she was scammed by our old friend James Michael Waldby. We busted him almost two years ago when he scammed a Motorcycle Club out of some money. Last year, he scammed a VFW post in Meridian, Mississippi out of a few hundred bucks when he told them that he’d been kicked off of a train because of his “service dog” and he was stranded. The lady in Reno, whose business is helping veterans, tells us that he’s upped his scam – traveling with a “service dog” and in a wheel chair.
Waldby told the lady that he was on his way to Tucson, Arizona from Seattle, Washington, but that he’d suffered a heart attack on the train and they took him to the hospital in Reno and dumped him off with no money. She put him up in a hotel, but then started checking on him which led her here. She called the police, but, you know, because he’s technically a veteran, they were reluctant to anything about him. He’s still flashing this obviously forged DD214 claiming to be an Army Master Sergeant, retired from the 3rd Ranger Battalion with two Distinguished Service Crosses, two Silver Stars, two Bronze Stars, and four Purple Hearts;
The truth is very different. He was in the Army for a little more than a year back in 1989/1990 and his only award was the highly prized Army Service Ribbon. He was discharged as a Private;
Last year, he explained to his victims that we spelled his last name wrong and that’s why we didn’t have his correct records. Well, his brother and sister have both been here and they spelled their last names the same way that we spelled it.
He’s supposed to be leaving Reno soon, the veterans’ charity cut off his hotel expenditures, so if you’re between Reno and Tucson, you should be on the look out for him, especially if you’re at the VFW or American Legion. He scams in small amounts of money because prosecutors don’t find it sexy enough to prosecute the cases against him. You’d think that forgery is sexy, but apparently not.

What pisses me off is very fat people who use electric carts for the disabled at Wal Mart and other fine retail stores. Some fat people are disabled and would be if they weren’t fat. That’s not an issue. Some people get heavy because their health issues fairly immobilize them and I’m talking not talking about them either. (Hell, if you are otherwise screwed, get as fat as you like!) He is now in Worcester, Massachusetts and did the exact same scam to us!! However, because we have some amazing people here they were able to figure him out before we finalized his hotel stay, food and taxi service! He told us that he had a heart attack on a train and was taken to a local hospital here in his wheel chair with his “service dog.”

My friend was going to pay for some hotel stay for him on a bs story. She figured him out. I’m a vet, told her he should have cash if he has a dd214 like thst, being it’s December 3rd. I just got paid my va benefits. My wife will not let me go up there, because she thinks I’ll do something stupid. It’s a Marine thing I guess. The number there is 440 953 9600. Not sure how long he will be there.

He has family in Syracuse and Liverpool NY. From what I have read and background checks this guy needs some serious time behind bars. My question is why no one will lock him up for good. Mr. Waldby is a very serious violent and aggressive man. He has a very serious criminal pass.
This man was just a patient in the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, MD in Downtown Baltimore for about a week with his “service dog” He was rude and very nasty to the staff here while we all treated him with nothing but respect and kindness
