Jason Mullaney “the most repugnant scum on Earth”
Chip sends us a link from Fox News in regards to this Jason Mullaney fellow, a former Navy SEAL who ripped off his friends to the tune of $1.2 million. Mullaney convinced his SEAL friends to invest in his security company, but it was just a pyramid scheme to line his own pockets;
The SEALs had no idea they were cheated until some tried to collect on their investment. Mullaney, they reported to the FBI and San Diego District Attorney on April 27, 2011, had vanished with their money.
Former Navy SEAL Alexander Sonnenberg lost $160,000.
“The worst part of my experience with Jason Mullaney is the reprehensible way he calculatingly misrepresented himself to solicit former teammates that he knew would trust him as a brother…,” Sonnenberg said in a written statement.
Navy SEAL Kevin Blackwell lost $10,000. “[Jason] made fools of all of us and, in the end, only looked out for his own interests. He didn’t care about my daughter’s college fund or anyone else, their financial futures, impacts on their families, or their livelihood.”
He scammed 11 of his team mates and blew the money on trips to Vegas, a new Mercedes and a huge house. He also attacked a team mate for the non-payment of a debt.
[Alexander] Sonnenberg’s statement to Mullaney is likely more reflective of the SEAL community’s views: “Jason, I wish you the worst and hope that you rot in Hell for what you did to all of us – you are the most repugnant scum on Earth.”

The problem for this jackwagon is that he screwed over fellow SEALs. He’s about to learn that they have access to all sorts of things, and there’s probably no place in the prison system where this guy can be hidden away from them.
He’ll pay a price for his actions, a very large and personal price, because those SEALs will find him. You can bet on that.
And here I thought that James Janos was the clear cut winner of the “most repugnant scum on earth… at least from the SEAL community.
Anyway the SEALs can somehow revoke his trident? Probably not, but I wouldn’t mind seeing some kind of public statement along these lines. That, and a good deal jail time.
Maybe someone should check for him at Janos’s home in Mexico…

Problem with this is, on a SEAL Team there should be no reason to NOT trust another SEAL.
If one of the guys on my CA Team came to me and said, “hey, I have this opportunity if you want in”, had good points, a solid prospectus, etc., if I could afford to get involved I wouldn’t think about the fact that its “too good to be true” or not.
Granted if it were the 20 year old kid coming to me saying, “I’ve got this deal man, its awesome, give me 10 grand and I’ll hook you up bra.” I’d tell him he’s wasting his money on it too.
I found this article yesterday, but I was unwilling to jump on board due to what Mr. Sharkman advised one time in the past. Mullaney has a bunch of people on his side attesting to what a standup team member he was. I wasn’t there, I don’t know. However, this story from the link above is particularly damning:

I think it cuts a lot deeper than “what a POS.” What kind of security clearance did this man have? What was he privy to in his time in the SEALs? He’s already proven he’s out of himself and doesn’t care who he hurts, even men he should have called brothers. He’s going to get SEALs killed when he sells his past to the highest bidder. He’s gone rogue, and he needs to be dealt with — with extreme prejudice.

I hate to say it but SEALS are people too. Sometimes a bad one is going to get in there. Being a SEAL isn’t a guarentee the guy isn’t going to be a total ass, and I’ve said it before sometimes the service provides structure for someone and prevents asshattery. take that away….and things happen.
