Suspected car burglar dies after shootout with homeowner

SAN ANTONIO – A suspected car burglar is dead after getting into a shootout with the car owner early Tuesday morning.

The shooting took place just before 3 a.m. at a home on Deely Place near S. Flores Street on the South Side.

Police said the homeowner saw a man allegedly breaking into his vehicle. After being confronted by the homeowner, the suspect pulled a gun on him. The homeowner pulled out his own gun and shots were exchanged.

The suspect ran off, but his body was found by a police K-9 in nearby Bellaire Park where he bled to death.

Police investigating shooting death at Fayetteville residence
By Ben Nelms

No charges are expected in the death of a man yelling aggressively and banging on doors in a Fayetteville subdivision, who was subsequently shot by a resident of one of the homes after reportedly trying to gain entry.

Fayetteville police officers on May 3 were dispatched at 11:11 p.m. to a home on Habersham Drive, where several residents reported that an adult male was yelling aggressively and banging on houses in the neighborhood, said Fayetteville Police Department spokesperson Ann Marie Burdett.

“At one point, the subject reportedly attempted to gain entry to a home on Habersham Drive, and he was shot by a resident of that home,” Burdett said.

A scant pair today Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, but at least it’s Aces. Strange times indeed. Any resemblance to today’s gun pr0n and what’s in, never mind. Poor thing is suffering from magazine envy, though.*grin*

2 Aces DOT and DRT is always good to get us over “The Hump.” Add that to the Classic Lines of the All American Bushmaster Gun Pr0n makes for a good day. And BTW, Penthouse was a smaller magazine than Playboy, but it still got the job done.

She ain’t a bad looking gal for being 61 years old. I wish the Antis would let her run freely as the great Mister Stoner intended.

Gotta save the kids from drive-by bayonetings and the evil ‘shoulder thing that goes up’.
Someone should have let those idiots know that muzzle breaks make shooting easier, flatter vs flash hiders but logic and anti-gunners aren’t on speaking terms.

Yes, she is. A pre-ban Bushie exactly like that one was the first AR I ever bought. It’s an early model, EFI manufactured XM15E2S. She still shoots straight and true, even after more than thirty years.

It is a post-ban Bushmaster. I have a pre-ban one, and mine doesn’t have the stepped down M-4 style barrel which accommodates mounting a grenade launcher on a for real M-4.

That’s funny (not haha). I know my Bushie is pre-ban and it has the pencil barrel (or government profile) with M203 cutout. I was going to change the barrel to a heavier profile, but the stock one was very, very tight. I didn’t want to risk damaging the upper so left it on. And before anyone asks, I know mine is pre-ban. Serial number 39xxxx and EFI manufactured.

Your lower may be pre-ban, but the upper was post ban. I purchased my upper just before the ban was enacted separately from the lower. The upper with the non-stepped barrel was shipped just before the ban became effective. Because of all the back orders, Bushmaster would not fill my order for the lower until several months later.

Is your lower marked “Bushmaster,” as mine is? I am not familiar with EFI. Mine came directly from the Bushmaster plant in Wyndham, MA, as did a second upper I bought during the ban. I also carried an XM-177E2 (CAR-15) in the Viet of the Nam, so I am quite familiar with them, as I lived with one daily for six months.

I might also add that manufacturers did not start making the carbines with the stepped barrels until after the Army adopted the M-4 in 1994. Apparently, the thinking was that barrels that mimicked the M-4 barrel profile on the civilian models would sell better.
