The woman and witnesses told deputies that Pascoe had struck her several times in the face. During the argument, the woman then hit Pascoe in the head with a hammer.
However, Pascoe continued to strike the woman, Sheriff’s deputies say. One of the witnesses to the event stabbed Pascoe several times with a pair of scissors to try to help the victim.

Police Identify Suspect and Officer Involved in Fatal Shooting After Home Invasion in La Plata
On April 26, 2020 at approximately 10:20 a.m., officers from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 10000 block of Spring Oak Court in La Plata for the report of a home invasion in progress.
As officers were responding, 911 received additional calls advising the suspect – armed with a military-style long gun – had approached several homes in the neighborhood. He broke out a window to one house and then walked to the front yard of another home where he fired multiple rounds at the residence. When officers arrived, they heard numerous gunshots and observed the man firing at the house, which they learned was occupied by several people including children. One of the officers discharged his firearm, which struck and disabled the gunman. The officers approached the man, secured the weapon and initiated CPR until paramedics arrived. The man was transported to Charles Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
Detectives are working to establish a motive and his name will be released once his next of kin has been identified. The officer, a five-year veteran, will be placed on administrative leave in accordance with agency policy.
UPDATE: The gunman has been identified by detectives as De Quang Tran, 59, of La Plata.
The officer who fired and disabled the gunman is PFC Morrison, who is assigned to the Patrol Division.
Detectives are still working to establish a motive. The investigation is ongoing.

Two down and one inconvenienced, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. Don’t miss the pic from the Palatka article, the lad looks like five miles of bad road.

2 & 1 is very good for a pre hump day score. Wilted Willy awaits another trifecta DRT. “Hey Babe, I get it, you’re just not that much into me, you don’t have to hit me with a hammer, or shoot me…or something.” Well actually, yes she does. “…five miles of bad road.” Yep and a rocky one at that. Then, there’s Kentucky Boy already on bail for felony domestic battery and robbing a motel. No trial for you Jamie boy. De Quang Tran? Imma gonna go out on a limb and say that he wasn’t from around here, originally.
Guess everybody’s more interested in sciency stuff to hang out here and watch the RIA Motion Picture. Homeboy does a good job and the weapons he shows are the real deal. Not everybody knows that Eli Whitney made his fortune on weapons assembly, not the cotton gin, (his patent design was stolen by everybody and their brother). Whitney was also the FIRST to perfect and use an assembly line process with matching, mass produced parts. I had a chance to pick up 2 repop Walker Colts in ’88 at Gettysburg. Brand new, matched pair, sequential serial numbers for $300. What became ex # 2 pitched a hissy AND a conniption fit. She wanted a new outfit. I could afford both, but didn’t have my money clip on me. By the time I went back to my walking around $ they were gone. When I jumped over the dog fence and left that pill popping, self centered, booze guggleing skrunt in ’93, that outfit was still hanging in the closet, never worn, with the price tag still attached.
Not everybody. I love watching ‘Forgotten Weapons.’
My spider sense made me click (hammer) the second link.
It was correct.
Aaaaand Florida Man “strikes” again. Or is “struck” again. Or something.
The dude looks totally un-Palatka-able, not tasty at all. No amount of hammering will make him Palatka-able.
If he wanted to beat his meat, he should’a stayed home. Less harmful side effects, and no arrest or jail time.
(thank you, thank you, I’ll be here all week)
Oh, we were so close to that ever coveted 3 DRT FGS! I will search the interwebs to try and uncover more FGS articles for Ed!
Nice work folks!
That “hog leg” in the photo above is Colt’s Second Model Dragoon. They are extremely heavy, so they were carried in saddle pommel holsters. The Third Model doesn’t have the square backed trigger guard.
Love it!!
