Funeral for CPLs John G. Krebs and Carlos E. Ferguson (Korean War)

| May 13, 2019

Last December, DPAA announced that it had accounted for CPL John G. Krebs, US Army. CPL Krebs was lost in South Korea on 11 July 1950.

CPL Krebs will be buried later this week – on Friday, 17 May 2019, in Sterling, Illinois. Regrettably, DPAA does not seem to have posted the specific location for his funeral or interment.

If any TAH readers have the precise location for either CPL Krebs’s funeral or interment, please post it in comments below. And if any readers are in that area and have the time, here’s an opportunity to give someone lost during the Korean War a proper final send-off.

Still missing details, but some additional info on Cpl Ferguson:

If you take the time to read the links you will notice some similarities between the two. For instance Cpl Ferguson had a brother who also went missing, and Col Krebs had a twin brother who died the same day he did.

Rest well in your Home Soil Warriors. God’s Peace be unto your Families. Here’s hoping that Bobby Ferguson is located and laid to rest next to his brother Buddy as the Krebs boys are.

Thanks for the linkies OWB.
