Funeral for 2nd. Lt. Lynn W. Hadfield (World War II)

| March 18, 2019

Last December, DPAA announced that it had accounted for 2nd. Lt. Lynn W. Hadfield, US Army Air Forces. 2nd. Lt. Hadfield was lost in Germany on 21 March 1945.

2nd. Lt. Hadfield will be buried later this week – on Thursday, 21 March 2019 – in Bluffdale, Utah. Regrettably, DPAA does not seem to have posted the location for his funeral or interment.

If any TAH readers have the precise location for either the funeral or interment, please post it in comments below. And if any readers are in that area and have the time, here’s an opportunity to give someone lost during World War II a proper final send-off.

Doubly sad since it happened so damn close to the end.

My father always told me about a friend of his who was killed the day before the war in Europe ended.

Hondo, is good story about Ret Army Tank Commander Mark E. Brown and his last request to his son as he was in his final days requesting to be covered by old worn flag which his son did and the Commander passed away peacefully under it March 15, 2019. Picture is also included. Is on my timeline on F/B.
