Wednesday morning feel good stories

From Charleston County, South Carolina;

A man walking home after a traffic stop was shot in the chest and arm Sunday evening. An incident report released by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office portrays him as more of a suspect than a victim.

The report states 24-year-old Herbert Palmer Jr. was pulled over on Highway 78 near the fairgrounds, after traveling at a high rate of speed and nearly crashing into the back of another vehicle. Deputies say Palmer was uncooperative with the traffic stop, provided his ID, but refused to provide insurance and registration documentation.

Deputies say Palmer was told to walk home by his mother, who came to the scene and took possession of the Infinity SUV registered in her name.

Moments later, officers were dispatched to 4400 Elderwood Drive, about two blocks from the initial stop, where they were told Palmer was shot. According to the report, Palmer was taken to a local hospital by someone after breaking a window at a home.

A 68-year-old woman told deputies she shot Palmer because he came into her yard, broke her window and attempted to force his way into her house. The woman had not been charged as of Tuesday morning. Officials also have not indicated if charges are sought against her.

It’s currently unknown what charges Palmer may face. Deputies say he’s still receiving treatment at the hospital.

Jail records show Palmer’s been arrested at least 10 times in Charleston County. Among charges are drug possession, drug distribution, forgery and illegal betting.

Mr. Palmer *might* want to find another profession or a different hobby. This breaking the law thing ain’t really working for him.
It sounds like Mom is an enabler. This is my shocked face.

CCO

I don’t know; she did make him walk home.

UpNorth

She should have dragged him home behind the SUV.

68 year old lady oughta get a major award.

Deplorable B Woodman

She should have applied that “one more taxpayer shot” and put Mr Palmer in the morgue instead of just the hospital.
I would have gladly reimbursed her.
