Tuesday morning feel good stories
From Wichita, Kansas;
A 23-year-old clerk at a Circle K convenience store shot at a man who tried reaching into his register late Sunday.
Wichita police Officer Charley Davidson said a man went into the store at 2356 S.Seneca at about 9 p.m. and purchased an item. When the register opened, he jumped the counter.
Davidson said the employee drew a handgun and fired one shot. The attempted robber was not found, so police don’t know if he was injured, Davidson said.
From Tuolumne County, California;
While on the phone with the sheriff’s office dispatch, the woman yelled at the man to go away, locked her doors and safely got her kids upstairs. She also armed herself with a handgun.
When the man was able to get into the woman’s home, she shot him.
Injured, the intruder ran to a nearby residence where he had been previously that night for a party. Deputies found him there and he was taken to Adventist Health with a non-life threatening injury.
From Jefferson County, Ohio;
Police said [Nathaniel Richmond] apparently waiting for Judge Joseph J. Bruzzese Jr., who sits on the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas, ran up to the judge and began shooting when he approached the courthouse. Bruzzese drew a gun and fired at least five rounds at the shooter, possibly hitting the attacker, Jefferson County Sheriff Fred J. Abdalla told reporters during emotional remarks Monday morning.
“This individual laid in wait for our judge,” Abdalla said, tearing up during his remarks. “It just hurts. First thing on Monday morning, you have a judge shot in front of his courthouse … This was an ambush and an attempted murder on our judge.”
Authorities said Bruzzese was taken into surgery. His condition was not immediately known after the shooting, though the local news station WTOV9 reported that he was stable.
The suspect, who was not immediately identified by authorities, was struck three times and killed. Since a probation officer at the courthouse also shot at the suspect, Abdalla said it was not clear whether one of Bruzzese’s bullets hit the attacker, who fired five rounds.
A homeowner in Lithonia, Georgia is breathing easier this morning;
Police said a homeowner shot and killed a man dressed like a woman after he broke into his home…”The homeowner gave him a warning. The suspect continued to approach him at which time the homeowner fired one shot,” DeKalb County Police Lt. Lonzy Robertson told WSB-TV on Monday.
He said the homeowner will not be charged because it’s been ruled as self-defense.

With apologies to Snopes…..
George Phillips, an elderly man from Walled Lake, Michigan, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he’d left the light on in the garden shed,
which she could see from the bedroom window.
George opened the back door to go turnoff the light,
but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.
He phoned the police, who asked
“Is someone in your house?”
He said “No,” but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.”
Then the police dispatcher said
“All patrols are busy, you should lock your doors and
an officer will be along when one is available”
George said, “Okay.”
He hung up the phone and counted to 30.
Then he phoned the police again.
“Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because
there were people stealing things from my shed.
Well, you don’t have to worry about them now because
I just shot and killed them both; the dogs are eating them right now,” and he hung up.
Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team,
a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips’ residence,
and caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the Policemen said to George,
“I thought you said that you’d shot them!”
George said,
“I thought you said there was nobody available!”
LOL that’s a good one, heard it before and bet money its a true story…maybe even about our sheriff’s dept/p.d. good 30 minute waits for both!
Emotional Remarks Monday Morning – should be part of the routine schedule for the poh-poh so that citizens can know they are safe in their trundle beds.
I thought people in California weren’t allowed to have guns. Or is that only within the immediate vicinity of certain hippie snowflakes?
Ex- California peeps are not allowed to own guns unless their names are democrat diane feinstein who started packing after milken was capped in S.F. but it is the do as I say but not as I do thing. Maybe the young Cal.lady was a dem.????
Once you move east off the coastline, California is actually deep Red Republican. They’re just outnumbered by the Coastal Conclaves that keep the State Blue.
Trump won Tuolumne County 57.5% to 36.6% for Hilz.
AZtoVA, Sounds a lot like Washington state. There are 8 counties of the 34 that pretty much dictate what the hell happens here. Those counties are for the most part west of the Cascades and include the Seattle Tacoma metropolitan areas. The rest of the state is still pretty much rural and agricultural, populated by people who have to deal with reality.
The GOP needs to push for an Electoral College for states so the city centers don’t continue to dominate their politics.
Jefferson and Hamilton saw these things a long time ago and that is why we have the Electoral College for Presidential votes.
It’s really unfair to the people that live outside of those cities to have to deal with the shit that they push out.
It’s amazing to see the difference between the pre and post voter ID laws in Wisconsin. Before the law was finally put in place oblowme won and afterward, Trump won the state.
The voter totals in Milwaukee county went down and that is what led |Wisconsin to going for Trump.
Well, that and the fact that cankles is a lousy human being let alone presidential candidate…
AZ-Did not know that east of the California coast line things changed. I worked in nyc and that jerk off anti 2nd gov. put a restriction on magazine capacity, so right after 9/11 Brink’s Inc. where i worked for 37 years were issued S&W double action Mod. 4046’s .40 Cal. and we were only allowed to load 10 rounds into the mag instead of the 12 that the mag could hold. I guess the suits didn’t try and get a waiver for a full mag load because they sat at a desk all day and were not out on the street.I started in 1970 with a S&W wheel gun Mod. 10 .38 Cal. bull barrel and left in 2007 with the 4046. What a trip.
But that will soon be remedied when the coast falls into the ocean..just where the dumocraps belong….feeding fish!
A bit more on the Ohio judge shooting:
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/08/21/ohio-judge-wounded-in-courthouse-shooting-suspect-killed.html
“The man who shot and wounded an Ohio county judge outside a courthouse Monday morning before being shot dead by police was the father of a Steubenville High School football player who was convicted of rape in 2013, authorities said Monday.”
‘[…]
The gunman was identified as Nathaniel “Nate” Richmond, the father of Ma’Lik Richmond…
[…].’
Ma’Lik.
— sigh —
What are the Name Scrabble points on that? Are there bonus points for the mid-word apostrophe?
Name Scrabble (Home Version) points for Ma’lik Richmond are 27.
Sorry, no bonus points awarded for mid-word apostrophe.
However, since Nathaniel “Nate” Richmond was DRT outside the courthouse and even though no one asked for a score, as a bonus his score was 32×3=96.
While Richmond was the boy’s biological father, he played no role in the boy’s life, who was brought up by others.
Apparently daddy was connected with local gangs and such, and was pursuing a wrong death suit over an apartment fire. Also apparently that judge was involved with that case. It may or may not turn out to be relevant.
