Thursday morning feel good stories
Wilted Willy sends a link to the story of a 74-year-old woman in Texarkana, Texas who was watching the news when an intruder broke into her home. She busted caps on him as he made good his escape. “I tried to kill him,” [Rebbie] Roberson told KLSA. “Anybody break in on me, I’m going to kill them. He’s going to kill me or I’m going to kill him.”
A homeowner in Beaumont,Texas fired at intruders who forced their way into his home. Police, however, haven’t said if anyone was injured.
In Milton, Pennsylvania, a homeowner fired at a man trying to hack his way into the home with a machete. Police say that Gary Gonzalez, 54, wasn’t injured in the gunfire, but he was stopped from hacking at the door knob.
A homeowner in Phoenix, Arizona defended his home from three criminals who tried to force their way into the home. 19-year-old suspect Davont’e Williams was pronounced DRT (dead right there) and 18-year-old suspect Christopher Xavier Jackson was hospitalized for a gunshot wound. Police are still looking for the third man.
Jack Wallace, a homeowner and a former police lieutenant in Memphis, Tennessee fired a warning shot to stop four car burglars from stealing from his car. He held one of the thieves at gun point until police arrived.
A man exiting a gas station was accosted by two thieves in Statesville, North Carolina. The victim got to his car and drew his handgun from the vehicle and shot at the thieves. No one was injured in the exchange and the thieves got away, but police want to talk to the intended victim. Rotsaruck, boys.
Two thieves announced a robbery in a Chicago, Illinois business. A clerk wrestled the firearm from the criminals and shot one in the torso, the other in the leg, effectively ending the robbery.
A homeowner in Pickens County, South Carolina returned home to find Justin Smith stealing his guns. The homeowner was able to take one of the guns from Smith and shot him repeatedly. Smith was taken to the hospital where he was declared DOT (dead over there).

Warning shot? From a police officer? Good grief!
We all know what that’s ode for….
‘code’
In 5 of 8 incidents, victims fired shots and no one was hit. This was either because the victims did not grasp that the thugs would kill them, or because the victim was lacking in proficiency and familiarization with firearms. Get to know your weapon, be comfortable with it, shoot it, A LOT, and always try to improve your “personal best” at the range. 16 total bad guys, and only 2 have been shot dead, stopped from committing this stuff in the future.
You’re literally sick. You’re advising people to be better at shooting to kill. I don’t know people being killed could possibly be “feel good news”. And saying that it’s good they were killed so they wouldn’t commit crimes again is ridiculous. This ain’t hell, but people like you sure do make it feel like it.
More range time folks….more range time.
Hey! Don’t pick on old ladies, punks! We’re cranky!
Rebbie Roberson may not be the best shot in the world, but she got hers anyway.
I saw the interview of the old lady in Texarkana. She’s scary and irresponsible. During the interview she kept waving her pistol around like she was swatting flies, admitted to taking the shot after the threat had passed and put the bullet in the wall above a door.
Not impressed…
Oh well…
Better than the coward mode hoping the criminal spares your life.
My fellow Texans are letting me down with their range time here.
Here’s a piece of sound advice that needs to be shouted from the roof tops: Unless you are allowed by law to use deadly force, don’t fire a warning shot. If you can shoot the suspect legally, don’t shoot the air.
There are far too many liberal prosecutors/politicans looking to make an example of law abiding citizens; so don’t give them the ammo.
Yep. I know a local serving a short term behind bars for a warning shot. And he was totally justified to have put it center mass instead.
Psychologists have opined, that most of those who choose to fire a warning shot, would not be able to draw down and fire center mass if the threat continued inbound. I see no reason to waste lead, and would have no problem aiming and shooting with one hand while holding a slice of pizza with the other. And I would finish eating the pizza while the bad guy bled out, before calling 911 to send the report team over to get the info.
I recall the gent well into his 70’s who was involved in an attempted robbery by two punks. Their problem was that they picked on a former Special Boat Service veteran and Marine Commando and he beat the shit out of them. Us Brits can do a good job too with no guns
Years ago I had an opportunity to eat sand with some gentlemen of 21 Royal Marine Commando. Are any of them taller than 5’6″ ??
