Andrew Thor; cop plays phony soldier
Andrew Thor was a police officer in Lake Stevens, Washington, well he was a police officer until this past week when it was discovered that he was telling folks that he was also special forces, a CIA assassin and a British SAS trooper. From the Sky Valley Chronicle;
The report claims that in Thor’s case, the now former police officer told someone he was once a ” CIA assassin,” among other things.
Items from the report:
~ An alleged woman victim took out a protection order against Thor in Pierce County Court last week.
~ The court documents allege Thor, who reportedly was a former Army Reservist, falsely claimed to be a “Special Forces” soldier and later a British Special Air Service member as well as the CIA agent and assassin in order to impress the alleged victim online. The reality was that he was a Staff Sergeant in a Psychological Operations unit that had never deployed, according to the story.
~ In order to “craft a compelling persona” of what he claimed to be, Thor used the police database to help “fill in details about the man he wished he was.”
~ Thor also allegedly used the police database to compile a dossier on the victim and stalked her. He was allegedly observed repeatedly driving by the victim’s house and following her around the streets of Seattle.
The report says the court documents CounterCurrentNews obtained quote the victim, who was not named in the report, as saying, “On one occasion he intimidated me by brandishing both his duty and backup weapons. He claimed to have killed people with both firearms and poison. One of his stories involved arranging dead bodies in such a way as to eliminate suspicion of murder.”
The story also says there may be other alleged victims of Thor’s because Thor had, “searched the victim many dozens of times using the police database, but there were several other women who he had searched repeatedly, demonstrating the same pattern.”

Well, forgive me if I consider that “cops only” hypothesis to have conclusively failed based on this and other incidents. I shudder to think what kind of interview process they must have to let this assbag in. This guy proves the old western movie adage that “some men just need killin’.”

I always wonder if any of these phonies are the reason I can’t get hired by a PD. Some of these guys who are in charge and have been faking the funk probably see a real SF/SEAL/Ranger and say “oh crap I can’t hire this dude he will blow my cover.”
I don’t know if I feel like a bigger turd because guys like this get hired or the fact that I can’t get hired…oh well happy vets day.
Stevens City, WA has 24 F/T sworn officers (well, 23 right now) so I’m guessing that in such a tiny department, this guy didn’t just shut up and do his job. Assholes are always known within every organization.
Wompwomp. I don’t know your particulars and I’m not asking here but unless you have a record, lied on an application, have a bad rep among friends who would be interviewed, grossly overweight, wearing pullups, or frothing at the mouth, you just need to keep pushing, preferably in a city or metro area where LE jobs are more numerous. The civil service tests are not usually challenging and there are prep books available. Good luck.
All good advice from Air Cav. Let me just add, if you can’t immediately get hired by a large department, find a smaller one with openings, and get on, either full time or part time. Get the experience. It helps. I now one officer who worked part-time for two departments until he could find a full time job.
That said, I would hope that the Stevens City PD would have the sheriff’s department or state police do a check on each and every female mentioned on this asshat’s computer or in any paperwork he ever did, and make sure there aren’t any “missing” persons.

I know this department. They have a history of hiring and retaining badge-happy cops. They have a new chief now and hopefully they can turn it around. Most of the departments in Washington are above board. Lake Stevens has suffered from a lack of leadership.
The scary thing about it is the polygraph and psychologial tests do not always catch these type of assholes.
Just so I get this right: He (Thor) was using a victim of crimes database to get on to dating websites and lure these females into a relationship as if they were on the rebound? So he would use this database to start up conversations and stalk them even if they had zero interest?
What the FUCK is it with these guys and the CIA “assassin” bullshit? Or the SEAL “assassin”? Or the Special Ops “assassin”?
NONE of these organizations have assassins!

Lake Stevens is right next door to Everett, WA. Homeport for an aircraft carrier, several destroyers and a couple of frigates (unless they finally decommed the frigates). A lot of Navy folks live in Lake Stevens. Maybe the PD should run the job applications by the Navy guys to see if they pass the smell test. It might save the PD some money in the long run.
