First US case of Ebola suspected
I have no idea why an American would be in Liberia, but this person was, and the CDC suspects that the traveler has Ebola, says Fox News;
CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden said that the patient arrived in Texas from Liberia earlier this month and exhibited no symptoms. The patient sought care last Friday and has been hospitalized in isolation since the weekend. Frieden said that officials don’t believe there is any risk to anyone who was on the flight at that time.
State health officials say no other cases are suspected in Texas.
The Washington Post says that it’s been confirmed by the Center for Disease Control;
State and federal health officials announcing the confirmed case repeatedly stressed the difficulties of contracting Ebola, which can be spread through bodily fluids or infected animals but not through the air or by water.
This person who is infected left Liberia on Sept. 19 and arrived in the U.S. the following day to visit family in this country.
By the way, if you need a reminder, Liberia is where we’re sending those 3,000 troops.
Category: Who knows
Like I said. It just takes Joe doing 1 thing to catch it and then, within a month…
time to qurantine the area and drop the biggest fuel air bomb we can find.
Just found out that friend of mine works there as an ER nurse. Just wonderful.
NHSparky…and that’s how it begins. A guy in the ER feeling like the flu has him down and before they determine it’s Ebola, all the intact people for insurance, the first nursing and doctors called to look at him, lab techs for blood draws…then it’s confirmed. EBOLA! Now all the staff from entry to isolation have to be watched, the people in the waiting area with him. They SAY, NO it’s not airborne. But they have as many counter theories that it could be. How many people did he shake a sweaty hand with? How many family did he hug? I could go on but the picture is pretty obvious. ALL OF THEM should be found and quarantined. NOW! I pray he will survive and no one else was infected.
Talked to them this morning. It’s not them being in the ER and ICU that is the concern, it’s every airport, restaurant, and other public place this guy was as from the time he started to develop symptoms until he was hospitalized.
Doesn’t that just give you a warm fuzzy?
Son of a bitch.
God knows how many people this guy has interacted with. There needs to be an immediate quarantine, mandatory screening…
The town, the airport.. Everything this guy was in needs to be closed off ASAP. Institute Martial Law if need-be, but this cannot spread any further than it has, or we could be looking at a lot of death.
Funny that you should mention martial law. It is not a real stretch to contemplate that the willful disregard of common sense health practices to protect the population (like scattering diseased “children” throughout the country) could be a means to just that end. Remember, this is the guy who promised to further his agenda with or without the permission of Congress or any of us, and has demonstrated a willingness to do it. How far will he go? Your guess is a good as mine.
Don’t look behind the curtain! Look over there at the shiny stuff while we set up several potential situations which could justify the declaration of martial law.
OK, someone pass me a tinfoil hat.
No longer a suspected case, it has been confirmed as Ebola. Patient is a Liberian citizen visiting family in the Dallas area. And our stupid government let him in. When he felt sick he went to the hospital and they sent him home. Oy Vay!
He was on an airliner, in terminals, used the bathroom, handled who knows what, sneezed and coughed some number of times, went to a hospital, sat in its waiting room, left there, lived with others, went I don’t know where, and ultimately returned to the hospital where they kept him. Now, why did he go to the hospital the first time? Right. Because he was ill, suffering symptoms. Bingo. So, even if one believes that the contagion is not communicable until symptoms appear in the host (something I don’t buy, on its face) then this guy was distributing the goods. Great. And so it begins.
And I betcha he was Irish … If you know what I mean.
And they certainly don’t want that info out …
There are preventive measures that could have been taken, but they weren’t. Is it because of B. Hussein 0bama’s hatred of the USA, his wish to turn it into a third world hellhole, or is he so liberal he thought it was unfair that Ebola isn’t in the USA yet, thus he and his administration let it happen, or he just doesn’t give a shit and went golfing?
When it come to crazy-town scenarios, given the things we have already seen, nothing would appear to be too outrageous for them.
Just freaking awesome… and why are we allowing anyone to go into or out of those areas at all again??
BREAKING NEWS:
The White House now has labeled ebola not a deadly decease, but a “less than lifey illness”.
BREAKING NEWS:
DFW/Metroplex – Chevalier and Associates is providing parking lot security at the hospital facilities during this incident. Will soon offer valet and meatshield services. Challenge coins accepted in lieu of cheddar.

No shit, yesterday I drove by the address that is plastered all over the web for Chevalier and Associates… the one on Grapevine Hwy. in Hurst. It is a small podunk mail drop establishment. But hey, it is right next door to a nail salon. I bet you a dollar I know where Heavy Chevy gets his nails done! All the girls in there ruv him rongtime. I don’t know, but I figured an FFL license required a bona fide physical address of some sort and not just a private enterprise PO box.
bodparez prolly dint even no about it until he saw it on the news.
Those people who were treated with ZMAPP are asymptomatic right now, right? Ebola, being the aggressive little bugger that it is, and knowing that it is currently under some sort of attack, has already re-assessed its options, mutated its RNA sequence JUST SO, and is currently seeking new outlets for its aggressive plan.
That’s how viruses work. We already know that it stays active in a corpse, which is how it spread so quickly in west Africa.
Why in all the Seven Hells did no one stop this guy at the gate?
Because he wasn’t showing symptoms at the time, silly.
If I heard correctly, British Airways is suspending all flights to western Africa for the rest of the year. We haven’t done the same why, exactly?
And shutting down all air and sea traffic from West Africa would be bad because…why? Oh, never mind. The apocalyptic virus is already here anyway. Thanks, Barry!
Ya know, just because I enjoy watching “The Last Ship,” doesn’t mean I want to experience the real-life scenario!
By the way, if you’re in Dallas and worried about Ebola…go to Cowboy Stadium. No one ever catches anything there!
